Showdown VI: Silver Ace vs Makie Akamatsu

Advantage, Ace.

Silver would have gone for a pin attempt right then, but Makie rolled away from her, until she was right near the bottom rope. Clever, keeping Ace from attempting a pin on her. Clearly, Silver Ace had been going at this match all wrong. She had expected a Tension wrestler to not be that difficult a challenge, but Makie had serious skills, Ace had been wrong to underestimate her.

Unfortunately for Makie, her position...had given Ace an idea.

Running the opposite direction from Makie, Ace hit the ropes, bouncing off of them and charging towards the fallen woman, nearly reaching her before dropping down and sliding towards her, aiming to hit her with a sliding dropkick and knock her out of the ring entirely!

"Gaahh....hwuuuh..." were the only sounds Makie was able to make now as she crawled away from Ace, clutching her hurting chest as she tried to suck air back into her lungs. She grimaced; she had always known that her chest made for a very large target, and on more than one occasion she had been proven right. She had to get back into this fight, before Ace decided to maintain her assault--

The shudder of heavy footfalls on the ring told her she was already too late in that regard.

Pain exploded in her side at that moment as Ace nailed her with a drop kick. She let out a loud cry of pain as the blow sent her rolling sideways. Unable to stop herself, she found herself falling outside the ring, and sprawling facedown onto the ring floor. The crowd was going nuts: in the space of a few seconds Ace had not only taken control of the match, but now Makie was looking to be in serious trouble indeed...

Oooh, that dropkick had to hurt, Ace was certain she felt hard ribs under her boots when that kick connected.

Never one to stay down long if she could help it, Ace kipped up, leaping to her feet, the face painted woman letting out a loud battle roar to the crowd, who yelled their support back in response. Makie had tripped her up a few times thus far in the match, but Ace was the one in the driving seat now, and she had zero intention of not making as much use of her advantage as she could.

Standing in the center of the ring, she kept an eye on the titantron, using the screen to watch Makie's body on the floor and watch for her when she started to stand up. Once she could see Makie's head clear the height level of the ring apron, Ace ran towards the opposite ropes, rebounding off of them and racing towards the ropes on Makie's side of the ring, taking a cue from her lover Valley Doll as, in an extremely rare move for Ace, the Canadian took flight, leaping clear over the top rope and trying to crash down onto Makie below!

"Mnuugh..." was the only sound that escaped from Makie's mouth as she tried to push herself back upright. Her side ached from where the full force of Ace's boots had just unceremoniously slammed into her, and she clutched her hurting side as she tried to push herself up to her hands and knees. Here, outside the ring, she at least had a little bit of time to recover.

Except it wasn't goint to be too much time-- Ace was clearly making sure of that. Hearing the fans suddenly cry out in exhilaration, Makie looked up, just in time to see Ace diving down at her from the top rope. In the split second before impact, the only thing Makie could think of was how beautifully executed that leap was.

And then Ace crashed down into her, causing a brief cry to escape from her lips before she was flattened against the arena floor in a barely moving heap.

Success! Oh, Valley would have been so proud of that dive if she had seen it. It was very rare that Ace left her feet and took to the sky like that, and whenever she did, her first thoughts were always on what Valley would think of it.

She shook her head though as she rolled away from the fallen Makie and kipped up to her feet, letting out a roar for the crowd and banishing thoughts of her lover from her head as she focused on the task at hand. Makie was a bright Tension star, full of talent, that dive wouldn't keep her down, so Ace HAD to press her advantage.

Grabbing Makie by her arm and shoulder, Ace pulled the Tension Tag Champ up to her feet, winking at her as she forced up her upright.

"Ready to go for a ride?"

Ace asked, before pulling Makie hard on her arm, trying to send her running towards the fan guardrail with an irish whip!

Makie's chest rose and fell as she lay on the arena floor, her eyes screwed shut after having had Ace's full body weight slam her down against a very hard floor. She weakly kicked one leg up, trying to at least get some movement going again and, hopefully, eventually, muster up the energy to actually stand up. Around them, her fans were chanting her name, urging her to get up. Well, except Ace's fans were chanting her name as well. The end result is the competing fans were collectively shouting something that sound vaguely like ""SIL-KIE! SIL-KIE"!

God, that sounded like the name of some terrible slash fic, Makie thought grimly.

Even as she thought this, Ace was suddenly pulling her up by the arm, flashing her a mischievous wink. Before Makie knew what was happening, Ace whipped her across the arena floor. She turned, trying to right herself, but still smacked back-first into the ringside barrier. Her cry of pain was lost amidst the shouting of their fans, and she slumped down, barely clinging to the edge of the barrier as her legs gave way under her...

For what it was worth, Silver Ace would totally read that slash fiction.

But for now, she basked in her audiences cheers for her. Makie had been giving her trouble so far, and was certainly earning the former champions respect, but Ace had her in her sights now, and it was time to do some serious damage!

Pointing her finger at Makie, a clear sign to the crowd that Ace was planning something big, she lifted her arm up and charged at the woman, fully intending to try and clothesline her over the top of the barricade and send the Tension Tag Champ into the crowd!

"NNnngh...nnheeh..." Makie huffed as her arms clung to the edge of the barricade. Her back was throbbing with pain from where it brutally collided with the bare metal, and it was taking a lot of effort on her part just to hold herself upright. Forcing one eye open, she could see that Silver Ace wasn't done yet, breaking into a charging run at her, arm raised for a clothesline.

That was all well and good, except Makie wasn't done either.

Gritting her teeth, she brought her hands up at the last second, trying to catch Ace's outstretched arm. At the same time, she would try to kick up, hammering a knee into Ace's unguarded midsection. If all worked according to plan, she would use Ace's own momentum against her, flipping her over and sending her crashing into the crowd!

Of course, if all failed, then it was Makie who would go sprawling into the crowd instead...

It was such a perfect plan. Charge in, knock Makie over the guardrail, maybe superkick her after, get back in the ring, and get a good win by count out. Maybe not the most satisfying of wins personally, but a win was a win, and Ace was starting to think getting a pragmatic win was smarter than going for a flashy one where Makie was concerned. Sure Ace had the upper hand now, but Makie was dangerous.

As if proving her point, Makie not only had the reflexes to catch her arm mid-lariat, but the next thing Silver Ace knew, the wealthy Canadian was thrown over the very guardrail she had wanted to send Makie over, letting out a shriek of shock as she sailed over the metal rail and into the crowd of people past it, bowling several over as she crashed right into the front and second row!

Ace made a startled, shrieking sound as she suddenly sent flying head over heels-- a shriek that was cut short by a series of crashes and alarmed shouts from the crowd. From where she lay sprawled against the barrier, Makie could only surmise that her counter had worked: she had just managed to send Silver Ace flying into the stands.

Admittedly, Makie felt a little bad for any fans that Ace had just slammed into, but that was a headache for the AFW's legal department, not her.

Moving up to the edge of the barricade, Makie could see that Ace was in fact now sprawled amidst the audience. Grinning wolfishly, she began to climb up to the edge of the barrier, doing her best to balance herself on it. Slowly but surely, she began to stand to her full height, facing away from the crowd: the fans, knowing what was about to happen, gave her a wide berth, many of them cheering as they realized what was about to happen (though more than a few were urging Ace to get back up).

"LET'S GO!" Makie shouted, raising her fist to the crowd, before springing backwards off of the barrier, spinning in midair and aiming to come down hard on Ace, front first, and smash her even further against the stands!
