Showdown VI: Silver Ace vs Makie Akamatsu

Oh wow. Oh that sucked.

Cockyness, arrogance, that's what got her here. She had been cocky right from the get go, thinking Tension was some lesser brand...and then Tension just kicked her right in the goddamn face.

She couldn't help but respect that.

Ignoring that the Referee had started her ring out count at "ONE!", Ace got up to her feet, feeling something wet on her chin. Wiping it with her glove, she saw it was a small drop of blood from her lip.

Huh. Alright.

Looking up, Ace gave Makie a wild, toothy grin, a sparkle in her eyes as the face painted woman raised her arms and clapped for Makie. "Alright, alright yeah! That's what I'm talking about! Lets see more of that!"

With that, Ace slid back in the ring and hopped up to her feet, waving Makie forward, clearly excited and fired up now! "That was a good shot Makie, lets see if you can do it again!" she yelled, getting her arms up and moving in towards the woman, inviting her to lock up again!

Makie was, admittedly, just as surprised as Ace, and as the audience, that her first strike had been so devastatingly effective, knocking her opponent clear out of the ring and sending her crashing out in a pile. In any other match, this would have been the perfect opportunity to follow up with an aerial moonsault from the ropes, or a running baseball slide, or anything else that would hammer her foe while she was on the outs....but it wasn't often that Makie fought someone like Silver Ace. No, she wanted her opponent back in the ring.

Ace, of course, was happy to oblige, sliding back into the ring and motioning for another lockup. Makie smiled at this challenge, and circled Ace, watching her intently...before darting back in fort another lockup! She wouldn't go for a straight test of strength, however, instead slipping around behind her foe to lock her arms around her waist, crouching against her back as she tried to maintain control over Ace's movements....

Ace grinned eagerly as Makie raised her arms up, clearly willing and eager to lock back up with her as she got back into the ring. That kick had hurt like hell, but damn was it good to get the fire burning in her veins!

She stepped forward, aiming to grab at Makie and lock up with her again...only for Makie to slip behind her, her arms wrapping tightly around her midsection. "Shit!" Ace yelped, quickly swinging her arm back, trying to elbow her opponent in the head!

Makie's heart was beating steadily in her chest as Ace slid back into the ring. Her eyes locked with her masked foe's as the two of them circled, eyeing one another warily...and now Ace was right to be wary, given that she now knew what Makie could do. Of course, Makie hoped to show her that there was way more where that came from.

Faking her lockup, Makie quickly slipped behind Ace, hugging her midsection, causing her chest to briefly press up against the other girl's back. Before she could hit Ace with a suplex, though, the Canadian's elbow came whistling back, socking Makie hard in the forehead. "G'NUGH!" she grunted, releasing Ace as she was sent staggering back, stunned by the blow.

Silver Ace let out a very brief sigh of relief as she drove Makie away with her elbow, having avoided being suplexed by the Tension star for right now. Considering the very first part of the match was a dominating opening move by the veteran, Ace was not eager to see what she could do suplex-wise.

Now what Ace could do suplex-wise, that was something worth seeing, and she intended to show off, turning around and speeding towards Makie, clearing the distance between the two so she could grab Makie around her waist from the front, leaving the two women eye to eye for a moment, before Ace tried to throw Makie backwards with a Belly to Belly suplex!

Makie's skull was still ringing from taking that elbow directly to her noggin; she stumbled back, one hand clutching her forehead as she tried to maintain her balance, cursing herself for falling to such an easy counter by Silver Ace. Then again, she told herself, the fact that Ace had reacted so quickly to her suplex attempt was impressive in and of itself. She wasn't just facing some one-off opponent: she was facing one of the best wrestlers in the whole of the AFW.

This thought was still in Makie's mind as Ace suddenly closed the distance, wrapping her arms around her, causing their chests to briefly press together. "Aaa--" was all the surprised Makie could say before Ace arched backwards, slamming her back-first into the mat with a suplex of her own! Makie arched up briefly off the mat before collapsing again, one leg kicking as the mat as she clutched her hurting back.

"Yes! Score!"

Ace yelled excitedly, finally landing her first real move of the contest so far, tossing Makie over her head with a lovely belly to belly suplex, a sign of the grappling training she had re-gone through in Mexico during her break paying off well for the Canadian woman.

Getting both her legs up, knees bent, Silver Ace did a perfect kip up, hopping directly up to her booted feet, giving a brief bow to the Tension audience, excited to be in her first Tension bout against a good opponent!

"Cmon Makie! Get up! Your a champion, no way that was enough to keep you down! I came all the way to Kyoto for this fight, gimme a great one!"

Makie winced, one eye shut as she rolled onto her side, clutching her back with one hand as she arched off the mat. Internally, she was already bracing herself for Ace's inevitably follow up, expecting the Canadian to pull her up and go for a whip, or to stomp her back, or to do a running elbow drop or...

Nothing happened. Instead, the face-painted warrior was raising her arms to the crowd, and shouting for Makie to get back up. This, admittedly, took Makie by surprise: she wasn't expecting Ace to give up the advantage this easily. She couldn't help but smile at this gesture of sportswomanship as she pushed herself back up to her knees.

"Okay, if you insist," she said as she pushed herself back up to her feet, so that she was level with Ace. The crowd around them was clapping in unison now as the two wrestlers stared each other down, having each traded some blows and gotten the measure of each other.

And then, without warning, Makie exploded into movement, seemingly going for a lockup but then shooting a knee up into Ace's stomach. If this stunned the other girl, then she would try to grab for her arm to whip her across the ring, hoping to catch her with a drop kick as she came back!

Ace's display of sportsmanship, while impressive to the crowd, didn't last very long, as as soon as Makie was on her feet, Ace was getting her arms up, just about to grab at the woman for another lock up.

But Makie was quicker to the draw! As soon as Ace could blink, Makie was in her face, a knee shooting up and catching the Canadian in her stomach, getting a gasp out of her as she reacted by clutching at her gut, allowing Makie to grab her arm and whip her across the ropes, sending her rebounding towards the tag team champion in perfect position for her boots to crash right into Ace's tits with a dropkick, sending the former champion down onto the mat in a heap!

Makie's heart was leaping in her chest even as she drove her boots into Ace's. It wasn't a fluke: she was actually doing well so far in this match! She had been apprehensive as hell going into a battle against someone asgood as Silver Ace, but she had gotten several good hits in now while Ace was still flailing on the defense. She actually had a shot of winning this.

Without wasting any further movement, Makie ran past the downed Ace, aiming to leap up and spring off the ropes. If all went according to plan, she would spring off and land hard on Ace with a moonsault, and then hopefully wrap up one of her legs for a quick pinfall!
