I totally forgot that Netflix was doing a GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, for you young'uns out there) series. Not a wrestling show or a reboot of the 80s original, but an actual TV series based on the creation of GLOW.

It looks like a lot of fun. I wonder if they'll get any of the original ladies to make cameos - I know Hollywood is around at least.

That would be super awesome and I would hope they'd reach out to some of them.

Watched the first episode tonight, and it's quite good. If you're a fan of old-school wrestling and 80s flavor, it's right up your alley.

Like, I dunno man. It seems just so overwrought? Like, it was super clear who was going to get cut and who was going to get to stay on the show based on whom the camera was focused on. As much as I enjoy Alison Brie with very little clothes on, it seems like that was just the hook to get viewers. They just went on and on about what her situation was, and what she was like. We get it, she is poor.

Perhaps it will get better over time, but it just felt like it was spoonfed to you. I am probably going to keep watching. But like, the first episode lowered my expectations.

There is some nice things. Carlito was the one that trained the actors for the show, much like his father trained the real GLOW wrestlers. The Easter egg is the gym they are in, which is called Carlito's Gym
