Zarya's name is taken, but the character is free as far as I've seen.

Yes, the Overwatch character isn't in use, far as I know. My character pic is indeed a female version of Zangief.

I knew about Overwatch and saw pics of some of it's characters, but that's all of knew about it until *after* the fact. Picking the name Zarya was coincidence, though I debated changing it after learning about the Overwatch character Zarya. Wish I'd just googled it beforehand...

One thing worth noting is that "Zarya" isn't actually the Overwatch characters real name, but a nickname/abbreviation of her surname. So the original character could still be brought in pretty much in-tact if someone wanted.
