Sadly, with her arms still damaged from Maria's punch, Rain was helpless against her tackle. She gasped at the shock of hitting the canvas again. Dammit! She swore, shooting daggers at Maria. She then felt her leg being lifted up for a pin. Rain shot a glare at Maria and started kicking her lifted foot. She refused to give up yet. She still had a little energy to fight left and she'd fight until she could stand anymore! That's what she learned from her fight with Alice. If she was going down, it would be fighting until the bitter end. "Get off," She said, struggling with all her might to get Maria off of her.

Maria was thrown from her opponent's waist with a loud eep, turning and rolling. She brought herself up to her knee, wincing a bit as she put her weight on it wrong. It was wearing on her, that particular injury, and hindering her movement- but she had no intention of backing down either. Her knee quaked slightly as she brought herself up, slowly, to a standing position, once more drawing her hands up in front of her and looking determined. She had decided she needed to end this match, one way or another. The next assault, she'd need to put everything she could muster into it- speed and power, and she'd have to strike quickly if she wanted to win.

It seemed that the match was about to reach it's conclusion. With the two fighters both worn out and injured, they probably had one or two more good blows before collapsing. Rain was glad that she was about to get Maria off of her too. She felt she could actually win this fight if she got the next few hits. The blond staggered up, taking deep breaths out of exhaustion. I can do this! She thought, making a fist in one hand. Rain looked Maria in the eye and gave a smirk at her, as if to say "hit me with your best shot" and then, she charged at her with a battlecry, aiming a solid punch to Maria's stomach.

Maria answered her opponent's charge with a charge of her own. She knew that this was what it would come down to- she couldn't bring herself to block the attack, knowing her body wouldn't be able to take it. She had to hit her opponent hard enough to drop her while taking her opponent's attack herself. She brought her arm back, balling her hand into a fist, and she whipped it forward at the end of her charge, aiming to strike her opponent with a crippling blow to the stomach as well to bring her down.
"KYAAAAAH!"
Maria cried out, hair trailing behind her as she swung- she braced herself as best she could for Rain's attack, catching the full brunt of it in her stomach, her eyes widening from the force of the hit. Still, she managed to keep her presence of mind to continue her own strike, hoping to catch the other woman while she was still involved in her own attack and unable to pull back. Still, Maria could feel her consciousness starting to wane... she was about to drop, she could tell.

Maria's punch hit like a gun. It made Rain stop in her tracks, spitting out saliva. She had to give it to Maria, she could give on heck of a punch. "Guh!" The blonde felt her consciousness slowly fade away. That was it, that was all she could take. She could only hope that her own punch would knock out Maria as well and end the fight in a draw. She didn't want to lose again, and a draw would at least be on step to improving herself. Just... hang on... a little longer... She dropped to her knees, gasping. She just needed to stay conscious for a little longer, just long enough for the both of them to fall at the same time.

Maria's head spun, and fir a few seconds the crowd was dead silent. Maria and Rain were in the center of the ring, both having taken each other's best work to the stomach, and the arena was silent with anticipation over what had started as a simple match- both girls had given their all, and Rain wasn't the only one to hit her knees. Maria's vision only continued to blur as her head spun- she recognized the shutting down of her body, the odd sense of detachment , that came with unconsciousness, knowing there was no powering through her body's attempt to protect her. Still, Maria registered that the other girl was falling in time with her, the same semi-vacant look in her eyes.
A... D,draw?
Maria's brain processed this as best she could- and a smile came to her face . Even if a win was ideal, a draw was fine- a draw meant she had stood in the ring with a pro, held her own, and had proven everyone who said she couldn't make it in the AFW wrong.
Not to mention she respected the hell out of Miss Rain.
Yeah, a draw was fine for Maria, she could live with that.

And those were Maria's last thoughts as she hit the mat, sprawled out and unconscious in a double knockout.

As much as Rain's will wanted it, she couldn't stay up, and fell about the same time Maria had. It was going to be a tie, not what she had wanted, but at least it wasn't another lost. She could at least say she gave Maria a good fight and they both proved themselves tonight. She was getting there. Maybe this was a sign of her getting better. And heck, even the crowd was on edge from their fight. A draw... I can... live with that...
