Training kick to the head

Adrian kind of balked at the implications of her own question, she meant that Heather was still on speaking terms with Cecilia whereas the cosplayer had been kind of avoiding her for a while. Not the... other level of closeness that she wanted no part of. "Yeah but..."

"She just walked away." she said distantly "I hit her with a cheap shot with a weapon and all she does is shrug it off and walk away. As if it was fucking nothing." the cosplayer growled the last part, her bandaged hands curling into fists again.

"Hm..." Heather would let out, scratching her head a bit as she heard Adrian's complaints about what Cecilia did. She would let out a sigh, shrugging her shoulders again. "Shouldn't let it get to you. I'm sure all she was doing was playing mind games with you. That's not my style but it certainly works to psyche someone out."

Heather would smile at her, putting her hand on her shoulder, trying to reassure her. "I think it means she's worried. Worried that you'll beat her in the chamber. She's worried so she's trying to psyche you out as much as she can to take you down before the chamber even starts. Don't let her get to you."

Adrian sighed, her head a maelstrom of varying emotions that she didn't particually want to show. On the one hand, she was still angry at Cecilia, and Natalia for belittling her and making the cosplayer feel insignificant in the grand scheme of things. On the other there was a huge swell of guilt, no matter how mad she was: Cecilia was still her friend and she might as well have tried to stab her in the back, and Rebecca... who she always thought would be on her side no matter what had to pull her away and break it off to stop the cosplayer charging after her.

All she could do was try and avoid eye contact with Heather and just say stuff like "I guess." while she tried to figure something out. Maybe she needed to go and clear things up with Cecilia and Rebecca. Or maybe she just needed some time, not alone, but with someone to take her mind of it. Someone unrelated to the whole mess but wouldn't mind if the cosplayer burst into tears spontaniously.

"So what now? I don't think I can do much more training without pulling something, don't wanna go drinking before a big match and I'm not sure I can really go back home right now."
