Too Cold At Home - Page 3 Empty Re: Too Cold At Home

Having chugged down that 4th beer with ease, Clyde was set for another round, unlike Setsuna though, Clyde was not all that tipsy yet but would laugh as he saw that she appeared to be quite drunk now. Setsuna may have been ahead of him, but he still had quite a few rounds left in him. Still, Clyde was having with Setsuna and felt that was all he was doing. Just having harmless fun.

However, upon hearing Setsuna's next set of words, Clyde's eyes winded a bit as he heard his friend make a comment regarding his status as a Man. It made Clyde frown a bit and made him obtain a rather competitive mindset, ready to prove Setsuna wrong for calling him out like that. Clyde held his status as a man with a lot of pride but as he mulled over the Boxer's words, Clyde realized that perhaps he wasn't being A Man at all, or at least the kind that he wanted to be.

He remembered how Heather felt about his drinking habits, how she begged for them to stop, prompted Clyde to make a promise to her that he would quit in order to make her happy, and indeed she was, claiming to be happiest girl she knew because he chose to stay sober for her. But now he failed her again. The thought of making Heather cry herself to sleep was now eating at Clyde. The thought of Megumi being right about Heather being off without him was just tearing through Clyde's conscious. He loved her, loved her so much and he knew he was letting her down right now. Even if Setsuna was the who pushed Clyde to take it easy and drink. He was man enough to make his own choices now. He had changed his ways. He was not the same kid from Texas anymore. Heather changed him. Saved him.

Clyde then looked to Setsuna with a worried look on his face. She had taken the time to help him in his hour of need, helped him get through his inner torment so he could get back on his feet, but now he was worried she wouldn't be able to stand up on her own. He didn't think another drink what she needed. Maybe it was best he take her home. The walk would be long but... He couldn't leave here alone or let her drive.

The moment, Setsuna grabbed that fifth glass with both of her hands, Clyde shot his arm out to grab the glass, inadvertently wrapping his fingers around Setsuna's knuckles as he clutched onto the glass and tried to gently pull it away.

"Set... I think you've had enough..."
Muttered Clyde

Setsuna blinked at the proposition and at first she was angry that Clyde would be so bold as to tell her when she had enough. However, after a second thought, she would think it would be for the best. Setsuna was tipsy but, no where near for her to be flopping on the floor or do something she'd regret. Setsuna frowned before tearing the glass from Clyde's gentle grip as shset it far away from either of them across the bar on a coaster. She quickly shook out of the drunken stupor, it didn't take her too long however, she was still tipsy.

"I suppose your right... but, If I'm not drinking you're not drinking either..." Setsuna said sticking out her tongue. She tried her best not to slur her words but, she always slurred when she drank, her speech was usually the first thing that was affected whenever she was tipsy.

"I'm fine though... really..." Setsuna said as she gave an approving nod before turning to the bar tender and reaching for her wallet to pay for the bill. She placed the cash on the table as the bar tender took it. The boxer got on to her feet, stretched and yawned before sitting back down. Her head was still a bit dizzy but, she was still all there as she gave a sigh.

"Just... a bit tired ..." Setsuna said scratching her head, "My hotel's not too far from here... so don't worry..."

Clyde would smile as took the beer from Setsuna and convinced her to stop. Hearing her words, he would pat her shoulder. "Then I guess I best take ya home..." He'd tell her as he stood up. Realizing that he may need to carry her home since he couldn't drive.

"But first... Quick trip to the bathroom..." He would mutter before turning around and leaving the bar to go to the bathroom. Leaving his cell phone on the bar in front of Setsuna.

Setsuna nods, "Alright....sounds good.... I'll just take a small nap while you're gone..."

The boxer girl folded her arms, laying them on the counter, as she burrried her face into her arms as she rested her eyes with a small yawn. The girl was somewhere between sleep and awake as she awaited Clyde's return.
