Haruka Tenou vs Kyo Akamatsu

When Kyo had launched the kick, he had done so thinking that Haruka would be too exhausted to counter in time. He was quickly proved wrong as Haruka, showing remarkable reflexes, caught his leg. Off-balance, Kyo gasped, and a second later was flung to the side. I managed to regain his balance and get back on both feet, but was sent stumbling right into the corner, wincing as he slammed against it.

He quickly turned around. He had put a punishing hold on Haruka, and she was still as quick, agile, and standing once again despite all of that.She was without a doubt the best opponent he'd faced so far in AFW, in terms of skill, determination and attitude, and she was giving him one of his toughest matches to date.

Calm down, Kyo, he thought to himself. She's not interested in you, so don't go developing a crush for her. Stay focused on the match!

Haruka it seems was also scoping Kyo out a bit.

He does seem pretty strong yet honorable at the same time. He's not bad for a guy...

Haruka realized she was letting ehr mind stray down a weird path and she shook her head a bit and then rushed at Kyo in the corner. At the last moment she jumped at him and with a loud cry would try to nail hm with a big flying kick in corner.

Kyo tried to move out of the way, but his back still hurt from the impact, and Haruka was moving much faster than he had expected. Before he could spin sideways, Haruka's boots slammed hard against his chest. "AUGH!" he gasped, collapsing onto his butt as he breathed heavily. Slowly, he dropped down onto his side, rolling outside the ring as he clutched his chest, knowing he needed some time to recuperate.

Haruka staggered a bit from kicking Kyo as she did after suffering the effects of some of his leglocks. She walked a way from the ropes but would see if there was an oppurtunity to suddenly come around for a baseball slide kick at his face through lower ropes.

As it so happened, Kyo was clutching his chest and leaning against the corner post when he saw Haruka lunging at him with a baseball slide. Cursing, he tried to dodge a second too late: Haruka's boots didn't catch him full across the face, but still caught him with a hard glancing hit across his already hurting jaw. As Haruka flew past, he was sent spinning around and collapsing onto his front, holding back a cry of pain as he clutched his hurting jaw and kicked fitfully.

Haruka would not stay outside though. She would actually climb back in and was high on her second wind, that she would wait for Kyo to rise, again race back to far ropes and then try to rebound with a suicide dive, leaping over top ropes and trying to nail him with the big cross body.

Kyo was already staggering up to his feet when Haruka reached the second rope. His jaw was throbbing madly, and he doubted he'd be able to talk legibly for quite a while. He didn't want to contemplate his chances if Haruka hit him in the jaw any more, and he thought he could feel a few teeth wobbling...

Gingerly, he stood up fully..just in time to see Haruka flying down towards him in a cross-body. Because of the way he'd been holding his jaw, however, his arm had been extened outward, elbow first. Purely by accident, Kyo's extended elbow caught Haruka fully between the breasts as she came flying down at him. At the same time, however, her leap still had a lot of force behind it, and and as Haruka crashed against him, he was sent slamming hard against the fences, pain erupting into his back as the angular metal railing bit into it.

Haruka herself was nailed by the counter elbow and even though she might have forced Kyo to take the brunt of the pain, she rolled off on floor and grabbed at her chest, hurt a bit too. It seemed for a while they would be down on the ground together and the referee would look down at them and start to count.

For her part Haruka would be up to one knee by three and standing by 5.

With a supreme effort of will, Kyo began to force himself back to his feet. He had taken the brunt of the hit, and his back was hurting like hell, but raw determination kept him going. He wasn't going to lose now, not while he could still keep fighting.

Like Haruka, he was back on his feet by the count of 5. This time, however, he wasted no time on subtelty: although his back ached with every movement, he charged right at Haruka, lowering his body to tackle her in the midsection, shoulder-first, and potentially slam her against the side of the ring.

Since Kyo had taken the brunt, Haruka might actually have a slight initiative advantage. As such she would try to dodge aside and if poisslbe shove Kyo as he charged a bit as if possibly trying to make him run out of control at either the apron or post.
