Bethany Maroza vs Kazuma Satou - A lucky performance!

Bethany:

Bethany Maroza hadn't been seen in a wrestling ring in either Tension or Friction for a very long period of time, her plan had been to compete in both places to try and raise awareness and promote her circus that she had grown up in while at the same time develop her own image. However it never seemed to have clicked, Bethany's ring work wasn't bad. Far from it, she could play up the crowd with her circus talents. Its just she never seemed to get many chance to even get in there. So the girl packed up and went back to her circus, that was until the ringmaster told her one thing.

"Give it another go. You can't learn a thing you think you know."

So with that he had pretty much ordered her to give it another go. Bethany never really questioned her adoptive Father's orders, besides the rare times when she got in a match it had been pretty fun in all honesty. So what the heck? Bethany had gotten herself signed back in and was ordered to get to Tension for a match, going up against a newcomer. The irony didn't escape Bethany in all honesty, a newcomer vs someone giving it another go.

The stage hand poked her head into the locker room, telling Bethany it was time to go. The circus girl was dressed in her usual attire of a performer, clutching a whip in her hand. Smiling and waving to herself in the mirror before departing, many would think that Bethany had lack of experience in a fight. But the truth could be far from it.....

Bethany waited near the ring entrance, the lights dimmed. Then suddenly her theme Fantastic Theatre would blare out from the speakers and Bethany would emerge from the curtains! Twirling around with her whip the circus girl would extend her free hand forward and upwards, whereupon what appeared to be clear blue sparkles would emerge from her hand and fly free to the sky.

The circus girl then strutted to the ring, standing at the apron and cracking her whip once. Then bowing and flipping backwards onto the ropes to get into the squared circle, she snapped her fingers and a queen of hearts playing card emerged from her hand. Staring into a camera with it covering her left eye before flinging it at the screen, she then bundled her whip under a corner and leaned on the turnbuckle. Bethany grinned ear to ear, she was no stranger to being amongst a massive crowd. But here in a wrestling ring, she could see them more clearly than from when she did acrobatics at the top of the circus......

Kazuma:

Kazuma had been feeling good when he woke up. He felt rested, he felt alert, he was even actually able pull to one of the characters he really wanted when from the gacha game he regularly played. The day got progressively better as he got two bags of chips from one of the vending machines, found a Blu-ray of a movie that he had wanted to see for the longest time, and even found a ten thousand yen bill. But then Tension management informed him that he'd be having a match and ruined the mood. They sent him the name of his opponent as well as the match details and that was it.

When Kazuma looked her up he was surprised, this "Bethany Maroza" that he'd be meeting was actually pretty cute. Her ring skills weren't all that bad either, especially considering that she apparently was raised as the daughter of traveling circus' ringmaster. "Maybe this won't be so bad." Kazuma thought to himself as he made his way to the arena to prepare for his match and do some video scouting. Bethany was a great performer, as one would expect from a circus girl, yet she didn't get that many opportunities to compete and she had chosen to leave AFW for awhile. It was a shame too, given a chance she may have had a chance at championship gold if she played her cards right, at least in Kazuma's opinion.

Now she was returning and her first opponent in a long while was Kazuma. They most likely put the two of them together to see if she could still hype a wrestling crowd as well as she could a circus crowd, and boy could she hype up a circus crowd if the videos of her various circus performances that Kazuma managed to find were any indication. After putting on his ring gear he sat in the men's locker room for a while until one of the stage hands came for him as Bethany's music started to play over the speakers. Kazuma caught sight of her entrance through various screens as he made his way to the gorilla position.

It didn't surprise Kazuma that Bethany came out with a whip, but her skill with it definitely showed how acquainted with it she actually was. Kazuma was glad that this was a standard match and as he stood behind the curtain he began to hype himself up. Finally, Rise by MADKID started to play over the speakers and Kazuma rushed out from behind the curtain to the cheering of the crowd. He made his way down the ramp, waving to some of the fans. When he reached the ring he hopped up onto the apron and decided to show a bit of showmanship himself as he grabbed the top rope, leaned back, and promptly used it to slingshot himself over it.

Kazuma took a second to walk around the ring for a moment before finally looking at his opponent for the evening. Seeing her in person now made Kazuma blush a bit as her ring gear certainly highlighted her flair for the dramatic as well as her feminine "assets". Kazuma decided to properly introduce himself to Bethany and started to walk over to her, making sure to keep his eyes on her's.

"Hey, I'm Kazuma. It's nice to meet you. Don't go thinking I'll go easy on you just because you haven't been in the ring for a while now. So then, you ready to give these people a show? " Kazuma asked as he extended his hand out to Bethany, offering a handshake.

Bethany had gotten herself comfy in the corner, setting her legs and back on the top rope. Here she'd get a nice view of her opponent for tonight, plus it helped display her performer attitude. Bethany was nonchalant in the face of danger, when you did acrobatics with no safety net. So she took the danger of the ring in stride, lived for it even. Now it wouldn't be long now until the opponent for tonight emerged, knowing Tension she was expecting some muscle brained nimrod that talked big and looked big but wasn't up to snuff. Already a witty remark on her lips for when he'd enter the ring.

The opponent showed up, at first glance......he honestly didn't look like much. Looked like some cheap cosplayer actually with that cape on, then again Bethany's outfit made it so she's wasn't exactly one to talk she'd wager. She smirked at him as he made his way down to the ring, he didn't look like some buff guy. This might be an easy mark after all, the fact that he was supposedly a newcomer didn't hurt either in Bethany's mind. But more over she was hoping this guy could be entertaining, the fans were the ones that paid for this. The circus babe didn't forget the reason she came back after all, to help promote the circus franchise. The back of Bethany's coat actually had the twitter name and instagram of the circus for fans to look at even.

She could tell Kazuma was working hard to keep his eyes focused upwards than downwards, perhaps a hint of respectability from him? Nice. She'd hate to have to deal with a chump. She got herself off the turnbuckles and said "Heya! Name's Bethany Maroza. I don't expect to be taken easy hehe, not when I could say the same of you. Oh I'm ready to make the people happy, but uh....." Bethany said as she paid respect to Kazuma she then leaned in and looked to his side.

The circus girl then said "Hang on you've got something behind your ear. Lemmie get that for you...." Bethany would stretch out her hand and place it near Kazuma's right ear, only for a second later to produce what looked like some clumps of paper clenched between her knuckles. "Oh hey, let's see here......Yep! I thought they seemed like playing cards." Bethany unfurled them, revealing the 1,2 and 3 of hearts to Kazuma. "Seems like I'm being told how your going to lose!" she said.

Kazuma smiled as Bethany introduced herself, she at least seemed like a nice person and confident in herself which was good a thing to do when coming back to the ring after having been gone for a while. Before Kazuma could rebuttal though Bethany said that there was something behind his ear and leaned in to get it for him. Kazuma blushed a little at how close she was, and tried to think of something else like whatever it was that she was trying to "remove". He imagined it was probably something meager or silly like a coin or a fake flower he was no stranger to this trick after all, instead she "found" a few clumps of paper.

Bethany quickly unfurled them and revealed that they were the one, two, and three of hearts, more or less declaring them as a sign of how she was going to beat Kazuma tonight. "Hehe, I didn't realize you were also the psychic in your circus. If you're betting your win on card reading then I hate to be the one to break your "hearts" but luck is also factor in performances and I happen to be quite the lucky man." Kazuma said as he mentioned the cards in her hand and began to size up Bethany properly.

Kazuma had height on his side and a highflying speedster but Bethany was also pretty fast and her circus career made her no stranger to heights and danger, at least if the videos of her matches and circus acts were as accurate as they appeared to be. While Kazuma wasn't a powerhouse, from the look of it Bethany seemed pretty light so he should be able to lift, throw and slam her if he got his hands on her......in a non-perverted way of course. She was certainly going to try and incorporate some of her circus tricks into the match, at least ones that didn't directly violate the rules of the match. If those didn't work then Kazuma was sure she would go for some more "flirtatious" tricks. The one move of hers that Kazuma was especially cautious of was her "Top Hat Guillotine" which was essentially a top rope Axe Kick that she could bring down on his neck. If he wasn't careful that probably would give her the "1-2-3" victory that her cards "predicted".

Kazuma walked over to the corner opposite of Bethany's and waited for the bell to ring. Once both competitors were ready the referee signaled the timekeeper and the bell rang and thus the match was under way. Kazuma approached Bethany carefully before lunging at her, intent on forcing her to lock up with him by grabbing her by the shoulders in an attempt to gauge just how strong this circus girl really was.

Bethany enjoyed her little trick, it had been one of her many parlour moves that on the street she'd use to busk. Street performances as it were, just to keep her circus lessons sharp. Ms Maroza liked to entertain pure and simple, so a little act like this was just a taste for the crowd as to what they could be in store for. Plus warn Kazuma of what could occur to him were he to mess up, which Bethany hoped would be the case. Granted she was technically green in the ring, but the circus girl was no slouch in a fight. Even without her toys and tricks Bethany could hold her own in the straight and narrow too!

She chuckled a little at Kazuma's witty remark about mind powers, the circus girl tapped her nose in response to it. He mentioned luck, that was something that Bethany knew all too well herself, she vocalised this with "Luck? Well me too, try grabbing ropes with no safety net! Hope you got skill too though!" Bethany was no stranger to a bit of smack talking. After all you gotta liven up the crowd with some charisma, get them to roll up and roll up. The circus girl didn't know much about what Kazuma had in his arsenal, but Bethany had some moves up her sleeves the likes of which none had seen yet. So in her mind it was balanced out.......

The circus girl cracked her neck and blew a kiss to the crowd, the bell would ring shortly.......Go time. Bethany entered a sort of stance, sizing up Kazuma. She noticed he was attempting to get in close and before long she'd find that her shoulders had suddenly been grabbed! A wise idea she supposed, to keep her close and grabbed to try and prevent her from bearing her tricks out. But however, Bethany had a quick idea. She'd decide to try and meet him halfway! The circus girl would use her hands and push forward into Kazuma's chest, to start what she would attempt to be a jockeying for position in the centre of the ring. Either way the match was now underway!

Kazuma wanted to see for himself if the time away from the ring had had any effect on her overall physical strength. He didn't doubt that the circus kept her in shape but that's hardly enough to stay fit for wrestling ring action plus he had a feeling that Bethany would try to go for one of her tricks early on which is why he got close to her so soon. Bethany began to meet him halfway as she put her hands up against his chest in an attempt to push Kazuma away from her, beginning a battle for the center of the ring.

Kazuma had to admit that he was actually pleasantly surprised by her strength. She definitely must have gotten some training in before she returned as they were about even with their struggle meaning that one of them would have to make the move that would decide the start of this match. So Kazuma began to try to pull Bethany toward him, if he succeeded he'd deliver a knee to her stomach that would hopefully knock some of the wind out of her and let him follow it up by sweeping her off her feet with a Russian Leg Sweep.

Bethany was no stranger to actually using strength in things, after all if your going to be jumping off ropes and trampolines with no safety net you better be bloody confident in your physical abilities among other things. So the circus girl wasn't gonna go to strain anytime soon and she'd be sure to let Kazuma know this during their fight tonight.

She figured it'd kind of add to the charm of the match, that the circus girl wasn't instantly going for tricks but rather trying to meet him head to head. Confidence clear on the features of Bethany. What she hadn't told her ringmaster was Bethany had been getting into some scraps on the side, mostly when a street performance went awry it ended up coming to blows at least.

Still Bethany didn't exactly have an idea of what she'd do from this in all honesty, perhaps it was this lack of experience that was showing through. As suddenly Kazuma would jam his knee into her guy, earning a loud grunt from the circus girl as the pain shot up into her gut. Followed up for a hard White Russian Leg Sweep! Sending Bethany crashing down to the mat hard!

"Damn agh!" Bethany yelped out as she hit the mat, this wasn't good. The match had just begun and already Bethany had gotten egg on her face, Ms Maroza looked to her side. The ropes and apron weren't actually too far away.....the circus girl decided to try and go for a roll out over there, maybe a change of scenery might give her something to work with......

Kazuma launched his knee into Bethany's unprotected stomach after successfully managing to pull her in close and it connected, shocking the circus girl enough for Kazuma to come follow up with his next move. He came around to her left side, hooking his right arm around her neck, taking hold of her arm with his free hand, and hooking his leg around hers before leaning back and driving the both of them to the canvas with a beautifully executed Russian Legsweep.

Kazuma heard Bethany curse as he stood up and noticed her rolling her way to the apron, most likely attempting to take a moment to recompose herself. Kazuma would've maybe done the same thing in her position but he wasn't in her position right now. Right now he was in control of the match and he told her before the match had started that he would not take it easy on her. So Kazuma quickly pursued her and grabbed Bethany by the back of her coat, just before she could fully roll beneath the bottom rope and onto the apron. Kazuma began to try and pull her back in and up to a standing position.

"Show's just getting started Bethany. You can't just leave after a bad opening act, right?" Kazuma asked in a way a performer. He then grabbed Bethany's arm and with a bit of momentum would throw her into the closest ring ropes with an Irish Whip. If she rebounded off of them and back to him he'd hopefully hit her with a standing Dropkick.

Bethany was no stranger to taking some hard tumbles, it came with the territory in all honesty. So even if she had a hard impact with that legsweep it was just starting in this match, so Bethany wouldn't fall to pieces just because of a lucky shot. Still though she needed to come up with some sort of plan in order to try and get a lead against this guy, too bad she was currently left scrambling and on her back foot for the time being. Of course Kazuma wasn't going to just idly stand there and let the circus girl flee here, instead he was gonna try and capitalise on this effort.

He hefted up the circus girl, Bethany at this point was still a bit sore so her resistance was a bit lacking at this point. However she retorted to Kazuma with "Don't get cocky sweetie....." Bethany had a whole list of tricks up her sleeve the likes of which her opponent probably didn't even see before. All she'd need was one moment to turn things around, it looked like Mr Satou was setting Ms Maroza up for an Irish whip to rebound her off the ropes. In an instant something within Bethany sort of clicked. Maybe it was like the times she spent practising her tumbling.....

She was sent for the ride, Bethany took it and rebounded.....she had thought it would be something like this. A dropkick attempt. Bethany in an instant got herself down low as best she could. Damn near sliding under him, she'd be clear of him by the time he hit the ground. Just in time to try and deliver a counter in the form of a stiff enziguri kick!

Kazuma threw Bethany into the ropes and measured her as she rebounded off the ropes for his dropkick. When she was within distance he jumped up and launched his dropkick and it should've connected with her but instead all he hit was air. Bethany had brought herself low and had slid underneath Kazuma while he was in the air at the last moment. Kazuma had to admit it was impressive that she had managed to do make such a split decision in a short amount of time.

By the time he fell back down to the canvas Bethany had fully slid past him and was behind him now. Kazuma quickly got up and turned around as Bethany attempted to kick him in the midsection. Kazuma had manage to catch the kick but then he noticed a smile appear on Bethany's doll-like face as she then hopped up with her free leg and used it to launch a surprise Enzuigiri that struck the side and back of his head. Kazuma fell over, dazed by Bethany's surprise offensive maneuver.

It would take a few moments for him to recover but in a wrestling ring a few moments was all one's opponent needed to make their next move and an opponent a circus babe as tricky as Bethany was sure to have quite a few moves. But with how lucky Kazuma had been throughout the day he was sure that he would be able to handle them.
