Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
Even with how poorly her first match went, Diabella Manitachi stood backstage with confident poise, her elegant (if not revealing) costume and ballroom mask giving her a feeling of power and mystery. Even if they hadn't made the track record they were hoping, they had been invited to a special, Halloween-themed event, and that could only mean they had impressed someone. Even better, their opponents would be a pair of regal high-class women: very promising candidates for their new mistress. Not that they would let these two overtake them easily, it was important to find a mistress who was worthy... but, perhaps it wouldn't be too long before they were done with this whole silly wrestling business.
Speaking of silly business, Camille returned from the dressing room moments later, her attire identical to her sister's... except for the bestial wolf's head that adorned her shoulders. "Camille!" the older sister complained, "What is that? What in heaven's name are you wearing?!" Her mask, while still ballroom-esque, leaving her mouth and eyes (well, one of them) visible, had a wolf-like snout. This, on it's own, would not be a problem, but the fact that Camille accentuated the attire with false ears and a tail left her looking... less than intimidating.
"We were told to wear costumi, were we not?" the younger Manitachi replied with a hint of confusion in her voice. "I am particularily fond of this one, it is molto feroci, no?" she chirped, forming mock paws with her hands and generally being anything but ferocious.
Diabella sighed in frustration, but it was too late to do anything about it. If she had anticipated this, she would have brought an extra for her sister, but she hadn't expected someone who had grown up in high society to get something like this wrong in the first place. "It... will have to do," she groaned, looking over the rest of her sister's attire to make sure it was all in order. Aside from the... obvious issues, it seemed fine, and soon the two proceeded out onto the stage.
Compared to normal, their slow, traditional, elegant theme was much more fitting as they approached the ring, which was completely adorned to look like a small ballroom of it's own. The girls walked down the ramp, hand in hand, passing lofty armchairs and matted tables as well as the hordes of cheering fans without so much as a glance. As they approached the ring, Diabella climbed between the thorn-covered ropes, with assistance from her sister, and stood at attention as they awaited their competition. Truly, they could not have been more at home in any other arena.

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
"...*sigh*...such a shame. I rather liked this dress." Gwen uttered in front of the full length mirror in her luxurious private dressing room, the heiress adjusting the flowery mask on her face that did little to conceal her identity in the least.
In what was undoubtedly becoming a particularly irksome trend for the heiress, Gwendolyn's last two pay-per-view appearances had, through no fault of her own, been nothing but abject failures. With one being a title-defense through disqualification where-in she was unjustly heckled out of her hometown stadium, and a fatal-four way that slipped through her grasp because of a bewildering sequence of events involving Akiha that she still had trouble wrapping her head around...
Though despite all of the unpleasantness that surrounded the Thunder Round in SummerSplash, Gwendolyn was able to walk away from that debacle with one revelatory fact. That the noble aristocrats were somehow able to develop an unlikely...chemistry, in regards to teaming up and working off one another. Gwendolyn vaguely remembered Akiha mentioning a potential team-up after their initial aristocratic brawl, but at the time the heiress was concerned that such an alliance would only impede her illustriously rising star in the league. But once the potential for gains was presented from their collaboration, Gwen opted to rethink her initial preconception, officially team up with her fellow blueblood, and potentially snap her PPV curse in the process~...even if it meant fussing up one of her favorite dresses. The heiress adjusting her mask just right before striding out of her dressing room, flicking her wrist towards her nearby entourage to signal them to stay put and that their services would not be required this night.
No sooner did one of the most reviled themes in the federation begin to blare out through the speakers that it was accompanied by the typical boos and heckles. Gwendolyn waited backstage to allow her theme the time to impress upon everyone the epitome of wealth and regality that would soon grace their presence. The heiress eventually sashaying out from behind the curtain, adorned in a fanciful blue and black evening gown that was valued at more money than the yearly salary income of any of the rabble setting eyes on her in that stadium.
Gwen elegantly strolled down the ramp whilst exuding the type of sheer pomposity that only came with being the type of dignified and privileged lady of nobility she was renowned for. Her poised posture and smug smirk were riling up all her naysayers along the barricade, offering only thumbs pointed down and uncouth commentary she wholly ignored. Her right hand was propped on her curvy hip with her unwavering hazel-eyed gaze centering on the diminutive maids in their corner as she entered the ring through the thorny ropes. Though once she in her corner she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow towards the one dressed as some manner of wolf. Briefly trying to ponder the hidden meaning behind the rather unorthodox costume, even for a masquerade ball.

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
When it came to PPV, Akiha didn't seem to have any luck. Sure she had won her first two PPV but they were minor ones, simply working her way up the Lightning Tournament to the finals, which in the end she lost, so in a way her first two PPV were a lost. Every other PPV she had taken part in since then had been a loss, so in a way she had never actually really won a PPV. So this was her chance to change things around. She had gotten a special costume for this occasion, something to match her crusade persona.
Though she had to wonder, how well could she wrestler in such clothes, it wasn't too restricting but it just wasn't the same as her regular wrestling outfit. Hopefully, this uniform would be less restricting than her opponents.
Speaking of the upcoming match, she was also now tagging when Gwendolyn. The two did seem to get along and had the potential for big things. Yet in the past, it had not gone well, but Akiha was willing to move past it. The only issue now was the persona she had taken. The Japanese wrestler had stated how she dislike foreigners but was now working with one, it would make her look like a hypocrite if she didn't deal with this issue. Yet she had a plan to deal with this.
Now fully ready for her tag match, Akiha would make her way towards the staging area. Once Gwen music started to die down, the Crimson hair wrestler would get ready to make her entrance. Her theme song would start to play, as the Japanese crusader would now make her way down the ramp with a mic in her hands. The audience would boo her, furious at the sight. But just like before, Akiha would ignore them.
She would then make her way towards the steps of the ring before entering and looking around. There she saw Gwendolyn looking elegant, as always. She then looked at her opponents. One looked pretty normal, the other though seemed to have not gotten the memo. Akiha would make her way to the center of the ring before putting the mic close to her mouth.
“You are all wondering what am I doing here? Why am I working with Gwendolyn, when I have stated that I dislike foreigners. Well first, I never said I dislike foreigners, I said I dislike filthy foreigners, there is a difference between the two. You see Gwendolyn is what all foreigners should try to be like. She is hard working, never gives up and does what it takes to wrestle, help this company out and is generous. If all foreigners were like Gwendolyn, then I wouldn't have a problem with foreigners taking part in AFW but it seemed that as of now, Gwendolyn is one of a kind and the only foreigner who should be here. Hopefully, in time other foreigners will follow her lead. This is why I am working with her.” said Akiha as she would then hand the mic to one of the officials before making her way to her corner and looking at Gwendolyn.
“Do you want to start or should I?” ask Akiha as she then waited for Gwendolyn response. Either option was fine with her and didn't make a difference to her really. The audience at this point was still booing, mad at what Akiha had said.

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
Gwendolyn's curious pondering over their opponent's mismatched costumes would be put on pause once her partner started to make her own entrance in her own elaborate get up. The heiress could have honestly done without the Halloween-aesthetic altogether, but when compared to a few of the other match stipulations on the card that night, gallivanting around in a dress was quite tame in comparison.
With the aristocratic duo now standing together for their inaugural tag-team debut, Akiha used this opportunity to explain the reasoning behind their team-up. Lavishing Gwendolyn with praise and adulation whilst bemoaning other "foreigners" who failed to live up to her lofty standards. Gwendolyn had heard tell of Akiha's rather drastic turnabout in terms of her views towards foreigners, including dying her hair to a blaring crimson color. Though this was her first time witnessing the transformation first hand.
Gwendolyn may have saw this as reason enough to be concerned for her friend's mental well-being...but once Akiha started to heap praise upon the haughty aristocrat, those worries subsided as Gwen smirked smugly from finally being acknowledged as the superior competitor she had been saying she was since day one.
"Well, normally after such a ringing endorsement I'd have no issue with taking the initiative and showcase what makes me such an exemplary "foreigner"...but...what say you lead off, Madam Kosha? This may be your first foray into tag team competition, but this is in fact, my second go around. And let's just say, that leading off during that particular match was an...unpleasant, experience." Gwen briefly glanced off to the side and reminisced about her tag match with River...visibly shivering with a grimace before returning her attention back towards Akiha with a wavering smile. "In any case, the best of luck, my dear~..." Gwen cheerily tapped Akiha on the shoulder and stepped through the ropes to take her position in their corner. She was more than happy to not repeat her mistake from last time...

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
Waiting in her corner, Diabella rolled her eyes impatiently as both of their opponents lavishly doted on one another to the crowd. She, understood the value of making an impression and demanding respect one was owed, that was a part of her former life as well. However, she also believed respect should be earned, especially without someone else's muscle to back up one's words.
Still, it was not fitting for her to be disrespectful, and as her opponent entered the ring in her extravagant Japanese outfit, Diabella approached the center of the ring and gave a small curtsy. "Let us see if one of you are deserving of our servitude, madam," she said with a practiced tone. "Though I will not be making that easy."

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
Akiha had finished addressing the crowd and turned back to face her tag team partner, Gwendolyn. She was sure that her aristocrat teammate had something to say about Akiha announcement. It seemed her partner enjoyed what the crimson hair crusader had to say but wanted her to start the match first due to something that had happened in the past. “Very well, I shall open the curtains to our grand debut and perform the opening act.” stated Akiha as she then gave a smile.
She would then turn around and look at her opponent. Her opponent seemed to have some manners but that was to be expected from a maid. Then again not all maids were like this in AFW, somewhere just rebellious or just pretending to be one. So seeing someone like this was a nice change of pace. “I expect you to give hundred percent, otherwise I may not see you fit and my counterpart may also not see you fit to serve her as well. That being said, I intend to go all out on you.” stated Akiha in a serious manner as she would then wait for the bell to ring.
Once the bell rang, she would move in, attempting to close the distance and attempt to enter a collar and elbow tie up. Though strength wasn't her specialty, it would be a good way to get an understanding of her opponents strength and weakness.

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
She talked big, but as soon as they went into the lockup, Diabella's actual wrestling experience became plain as day. She followed Akiha's movements almost a good second after, and she desperately hoped that her mask concealed the expression of nervous confusion (it didn't). Things were not looking great, all in all, and she needed to come up with something fast.
Fortunately for her (or probably unfortunately, in the long run), this was a no-holds-barred match, and she had no qualms about fighting dirty. After the two of them struggled for a few moments, Diabella brought a leg up, aiming her knee to slam Akiha right in the crotch!

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
The two managed to lock up and it soon became clear to her that her skill level was inferior to Akiha, in fact, the Japanese wrestler could see it on her opponent face despite the mask she was wearing it. The crimson hair wrestler would start to push the maid towards her corner, planning on getting some double team action started. Yet just as she started to make some progress, she would fall to her knees, gasping for air after taking a low blow. Akiha was fine with using dirty tactics to win but doing it so quickly and right away had taken her by surprise. She would curse under her breath but right now she was vulnerable.

Re: Fright Fight - Akiha Kosha & Gwendolyn Bettencourt Vs. The Maids without a Mistress
The knee connected, and it seemed to really knock the wind out of Diabella's Japanese opponent! Or, she thought so, at least... it was hard to tell what kind of faces Akiha was making under the mask, but as she collapsed to her knees and broke the lockup, it was safe to say some damage had been done. Diabella stood over her with her knuckles resting on her hips, throwing her head back in a laugh. "Hehe, it seems you have underestimated what my sister and I are capable of, no? Maybe you will learn next time, idiota." She failed to realize that she had been guided towards her opponent's side of the ring, and was precariously close to the ropes, but in her gloating, Diabella had no idea.
