AV 15 Hardcore Title Boiler Room Brawl: Adrian Kytes(c) Vs. River Styx

Adrian looked down at River as she asked whether the former cosplayer wanted to let go. "Oh no..." she mumbled out, there was no way in hell this was going to not hurt very badly, especially not with River's wide grin plastered on her face, and soon enough she was sent flying overhead, with a very bad landing ahead of her.

Fortunately the supply closet wasn't locked, so the door gave way as Adrian made her upside-down entrance, if it was locked there was a good chance she would have gone straight down and landed on her head afterwards. The impact still only added to her woes as her back smacked first against the wooden door and then shoulder-first onto the concrete, her leg lying down on a bit of shelving, knocking off a few noxious cleaning products as the hardcore champ was left reeling.

Okay, watching Adrian get flung into the supply closet was immensely satisfying, Styx had to admit. It didn't quite lift her spirits after the shitty start, but she was getting there fast.

Styx took a moment to enjoy the sight of Adrian languishing in the closet before she moved in, rubbing her shoulder as she moved. Her hulking shadow darkened the closet, cutting into the pale light of the boiler room and covering the smaller woman’s body.

Styx spent a moment looking around the closet while she winced, taking stock and trying to figure out her next move. There were a lot of options available, but she didn’t want to rush into a choice. ”Stay there for a minute.”

And to ensure that Adrian didn’t move, she planted her foot on the hardcore champion’s head and pressed it to the floor, grinding away at her skull.

"Nghhh..." Adrian groaned on the floor as the sensation of pain started to take firm hold. She thought it had hurt bad when she hit the door and floor, nope. The impact had knocked enough sense out of her to make the landing feel nice and calm before the real pain set in. At least now the light wasn't shining directly in her face, if only because River was standing overhead, looking to grind the champion's head into the concrete while the bald brawler pondered over her next move, the former cosplayer's legs kicking weakly against the shelves.

It occurred to Styx that she could, in theory, just walk out of the boiler room now, but the truth was that she wasn’t too sure on the exact path she needed to take out, getting a little lost with all the winding highways. Aside from the fact that she just wanted to punish Adrian for taking what rightfully belonged to her and being a general pain in the ass, she wanted to make sure the little thief wouldn’t be getting back up when she tried to leave. The last thing she wanted was a sneak attack when she wasn't looking.

The supply closet had plenty of toys to accomplish that with, too. Extension cords, mousetraps, a couple of brooms, all sorts of cleaning supplies, a tire iron, Styx took a pack of thumbtacks and pocketed it - that might be a fun party favor later - but what really caught her attention was the box of fluorescent light tubes in the corner. She saw much promise with those.

First, though, she’d need a little more room to work with. Styx grabbed Adrian by the ankle with both hands, twisted around, and roughly tossed her out of the closet, not caring all that much how she landed on the concrete.

As River was browsing the wares, Adrian was slowly recovering from her fairly poor start to this whole affair. Small, but deliberate movements, just to check if everything was still working before she grabbed hold of the door frame, just to get some sort of a base going before the bald brawler decided that she'd done enough window shopping and moved to evict the Hardcore Champion so she could really get the good stuff. Crunching backward to get her free leg around River's arms, she pulled against the frame of the door, hoping to get enough leverage to send River stumbling forward into the shelves, using the tight space of the supply closet against her.

Being bigger than most people was an advantage Styx had enjoyed pretty much since she’d hit puberty, and Adrian was simply the latest in a long line of men and women that the bald brawler had manhandled throughout the years. She expected to easily hurl the pretender champion out of the closet, without a single problem. It had never been something she’d had any difficulty with before, after all.

This time, though, Adrian had a little complication, and by the time Styx figured out what was going, it was way too late to stop it. The leg-whip-toss-whatever made her stumble forward, and her forehead smacked right into the bottom shelf, hitting with enough force to make the entire thing collapse along with her. That was one of the disadvantages of being bigger than most people: when you hit something, you hit it hard, whether you wanted to or not.

Styx let out a primal roar and fell on her back, grasping her forehead as her face scrunched up from the pain. She could already feel a little blood leaking out, sliding down her palm, so there'd be another addition to her ever-growing collection of scars.

First blood to Adrian. Again. It seemed like every moment she was in this woman's proximity, she was given an entirely new reason to hate her.

The crashing sound of a set of shelves collapsing on top of someone's head was painful music to Adrian's ears. Still hurt, but satisfying nonetheless to get a glimpse of River's suffering while the cosplayer crawled her way out of the wreckage that was now the supply closet, breathing heavily as she pushed herself up against a wall to get herself vertical again "Ha..."

Propping herself up against the wall, Adrian moved back towards the closet, back towards River as she deliberately stepped on the bleeding woman's ankle, stomping it for good measure. She had a strategy, she just needed to execute it.

”Fuck’s sakes…” Styx grumbled as she made her way up, grabbing the middle shelf for support as the blood started to drop down her face. Not something she was unused to, but knowing that a milksop like Adrian was responsible somehow made it hurt a lot worse then she knew it should.

And then there was the sudden, sharp pain in her ankle.

”Shit-” Styx bit back a scream at the fierce pain in her ankle - nothing broken, but closer to it than she was comfortable with. Without even looking behind her, she jerked up and swung her arm in a wide arc behind her back, trying to hit Adrian in the stomach with a fierce elbow.

Adrian didn't have much time to smile at River's discomfort before the bald brawler went back on the offensive, a sharp elbow catching the cosplayer right in the gut, knocking the wind out of her sails as she staggered back. "F-fine!" She declared, heading backwards out of the closet. "You want your personal... space, I... I can take a hint. Enjoy the closet!" She joked through a pained expression as she backed out, closing the door behind her and leaving River on her own devices.

Okay... the former cosplayer said to herself, hobbling away with the small headstart closing the door on the hurting River had given her which way is out? she wondered. All the twisted pipes made a very effective maze, and she was stuck just looking for glimpses of green, a fire exit might work. If they had those in Mongolia.

As good as it felt to sink her elbow into Adrian’s stomach, Styx didn't have the luxury of enjoying the moment. Had to get up. Had to keep fighting. Had to put Adrian down before she-

”SLAM!”

Styx straightened up as the room as swallowed in darkness, not even believing it for a moment. ”Bitch, did you-”

She was confused for a moment, but that went away when she remembered the rules of the match. Adrian was just stalling, trying to keep her at bay, and every second wasted was a moment where the championship - her championship - got further away from her.

Styx pulled her way back up and grabbed the box of light tube she’d eyed earlier. She came out of the closet, hobbling on her hurt ankle, and zeroed in on Adrian. She was too far to catch, especially with her ponderous weight and aching bones, but there were other options.

Styx reached into the box, pulled out a tube, and hurled it at Adrian like a deadly spear.
