Something to Discuss (Claire and Kagami)

Claire was not an expert with chopsticks, but she did what she could, picking up one of her cooked maki rolls and sliding it into her mouth. Looking across the table, she gave Kagami a quick once-over. The girl seemed very normal now, but, just twenty minutes earlier, the two of them had been tearing into each other in the ring. Claire had never really had much opportunity to eat sushi back home in the United States. It wasnâ€t for lack of sushi restaurants—even small towns usually had at least one, as its popularity exploded throughout the country in the early years of the new millennium. But she and her parents had rarely gone out to eat during her formative years in Rhode Island, and, once she had moved on to a boarding school in Vermont, she hardly ever set foot in a restaurant, secluded as the school was. But she had liked sushi whenever she had had the chance to eat it, and she was very much enjoying herself right now, eagerly gobbling down roll after roll.

Looking over at her erstwhile opponent, however, Claire was shocked by the way the girl simply devoured her food. It was obvious that she truly loved sushi, and the way she ate was almost unreal. Claire made a mental note to never challenge the kawaii champion to a sushi-eating contest.

“It is really good,” Claire said, as she finished her first plate and put in an order for another. “So, if youâ€d be willing to come up for air between rolls, Iâ€d like to talk about our next match—my title shot.”

Kagami was still eating her sushi when Claire asked her to take a break. Kagami swallowed the role in her mouth and looked up at Claire "Well, i did promise you a match. So what type of match would you like to have?" Kagami asked as she looked down at the sushi as she patiently waited for a chance to start eating again. "I don't care what match you choose but i don't do hardcore matches." Kagami said as she figured Claire would pick such a dangerous match but Kagami wanted to make sure.

“Oh, I donâ€t do hardcore matches, either,” Claire replied. She certainly was not about to suggest a hardcore match, especially when her opponent would be someone as merciless as Kagami seemed to be. The girl hadnâ€t pulled any punches in their first match, and so Claire knew that she wouldnâ€t be pulling any the next time they faced off. Kagami still wasn't sure about taking part in the match but she was going to try her best to defend her title from Claire and Kagami did still feel bad about their last match and Kagami was going to try and make up for the bad blood between them.

It was obvious that Kagami really did not want to have a topless match. Claire really wasnâ€t a fan of showing off her body like that, either, but she had done that sort of match twice before, now, and she did not want to mess with the winning formula. It seemed wrong to adjust the way in which the match was fought, especially for something so important as a title shot. But she did want Kagami to be more friendly towards her the next time they came up against each other. She wanted to make sure that the two of them could be on better terms when next they fought.
