They're desperate, after how badly they've fumbled things since summerslam and that they already hyped WM 30 to be a big deal, especially with the network, they're desperate for a "Money" guy to come in and hold everything together. Especially since Batista has a Hollywood thing going on, getting into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

They so badly need this gamble to work out for them they're throwing everything they can to draw people into it. Despite live crowds pretty much going "Daniel Bryan wins or we riot" at this point.

Current internet scuttlebutt is that the plan for mania is:
Orton/Batista
Taker/Lesnar
Bray Wyatt/Cena
Punk/HHH
Bryan/Sheamus
Ultimate Warrior/Ryback

I doubt it would happen but I'd rather see 'Taker face Sting than Lesnar.

The truth of the matter is WWE does care what the fans think. Hear me out. Who buys the tickets to the shows? The guys (and girls) screaming "YES! YES! YES!" Who buys the merchandise? The guys (and girls) screaming "SÃ! SÃ! SÃ!" Who buys the PPVs online? Trick question, nobody does, but who's going to buy the WWE Network? The people screaming "NO! NO! NO!" So until the people whose voices are so strongly against what WWE is doing with Daniel Bryan and the other seemingly shunned names decide to not buy the tickets, not watch the shows, and not buy the merchandise, WWE will still just shit on what they want because they know they're still getting the "protesters' " money. So, yes, they care what the fans think, but not what the fans want WWE to care about them thinking.

So just to ram home EXACTLY what this means...

This means everybody looking forward to Wrestlemania will get to spend their hard earned money to see Batista vs Randy Orton.

A match that was done to death on free TV back in 2004.

Yep. If you thought Cena/Orton was played out, then think about how it'll feel watching the exact same match you've been watching for 10 fucking years now main event Mania, while also watching Bray Wyatt get fed to Cena, Punk get fed to HHH, and Daniel Bryan be given some nothing match on the card while everybody chants his name.

And who do we have to thank for this? Dave "Only A level Star in a B level Star Era" Batista.

Lets just hope he tears a muscle before then.
