Battle of the Redheads: Akiko Takamiya vs. Volcanica (for k0hryuu)

Volcanica would keep her eyes on Akiko as she too got into her fighting stance. Even though it is still barely the start of the match, both would know that things were about to be serious now. The crowd could feel the tension and braced themselves for the collision from both fighters. The fiery British redhead would crack her neck side to side as she also said, "Indeed we are, so let's keep going."

When she saw the kick coming for the same leg, Volcanica tried to deflect it with her closest arm. If this worked, she would try to come in with an uppercut to the chin before a straight punch to the face.

Her attack parried, Akiko quickly hopped back, narrowly evading Volcanica's uppercut counter. Landing heavily, she planted her feet in preparation to strike again, but Volcanica was already coming at her with a follow up.

Unable to evade, Akiko took the fist square in the face. Cursing out loud, she staggered backwards, holding her face.

Volcanica thought that she was going to have a near miss moment when Akiko avoided her uppercut, but thankfully, she made that straight punch count. With Akiko staggering backwards, Volcanica now had a chance to put this match more into her favor. Making up her mind, she would try to grab Akiko's right arm so she can fling her to the turnbuckle.

If this worked, Volcanica would follow up with a charging shoulder tackle to sandwich the other redhead against the corner.

Swung about, Akiko grunted as she crashed back first into the corner turnbuckle. Shaking off the stars in her eyes, she would quickly see Volcanica rushing right at her.

In a brief moment of panic, Akiko wildly dove off to the side, hoping to avoid getting crushed.

Volcanica tried to get to Akiko as fast as she could for she knew that there was a chance that she can escape. It's fortunate for Akiko that chance came and she quickly dove off to the side, which unfortunately for Volcanica, made her miss. The fiery redhead would try to stop herself and hit her own arm and shoulder against the turnbuckle with a grunt. At least, something can stop her fast before she gets injured.

Once she bounced off, Volcanica would try to see where Akiko went and she didn't want to let her escape again.

Sprawled out on the mat nearby, Akiko was a bit pleased to see Volcanica crash into the corner like that. As her fellow red-head stumbled back, Akiko quickly rolled towards her and would try to sweep Volcanica's legs out from underneath her.

Volcanica was just trying to get her focus back into the match after that crash with the turnbuckle and Akiko was already on her way to take advantage of this. She would yelp as her legs got swept underneath her and fell on her back. She looked up to find that Akiko was right above her head, so she tried to roll away fast in case she was thinking of attacking her right then and there.

Whether she can or not, Volcanica would have to still fight without slowing down.

Though her trip attempt was successful, Akiko didn't really have the positioning to follow up properly. While Volcanica quickly retreated, Akiko would take the chance to hop back on her feet. Taking a short reprieve to catch her breath, she readied herself for her fiery opponent to get back up as well so they could continue their battle.

Volcanica herself was also relieved when Akiko didn't attack her while she was trying to get away. Now back on her feet, she would have to try and stand up quickly in order to resume the fight. But what should she do? The fiery redhead had to make this next attack count to get the match in her favor again.

Once Volcanica fully stood straight, she would now attempt to rush from her position and fake a haymaker punch to hopefully catch Akiko off guard. If that worked, she would try to follow with a punch from the other arm before a legsweep with the other leg.

Well aware of Volcanica's striking capabilities at this point, Akiko was able to duck the leading punches, before leaping backwards to evade the legsweep. Unfortunately, given the severe disadvantage of her height and reach, any attempt to retaliate would likely not go well.

While normally she could come up with a few tricks, the aggression of her foe made it hard for her to stop and think. Simple provocation certainly did not seem like it would work, leaving her little choice but to keep playing defensively for now and pray for an opening.
