Technical Difficulties. ..

So my computer has given up the ghost on me it seems. At the very least I'll need to update to windows 7 or 8, worst get a new hard drive. I'll try to keep up by posting from my cell phone in the meantime....

What seems to be the problem?

Basically after reinstalling xp, and trying to run my router's set up disc, it tells me my computer isn't configured for wireless Internet, which it totally is ><

I think this is about XP stopping its updates and such....

Yeah that's the popular opinion from people here...

Well, I would say that without hardware failure, there's no unfixable reason that it would stop working...



...But XP has got to go. Upgrading is for the best.

I still use Windows XP. Hasn't caused me any issues since getting in in 2004/5

Death of a hard drive? ouch :[

If you know your wireless adapter is working, but you have no wifi in windows, that's a windows issue. Since XP predates Wifi, problems are part of the deal. That doesn't have anything to do with your hard drive. If you're unsure about it, you can run something like Spinrite to make sure the drive is physically okay.
