The Proposal

Lisa smiled. So, was it all about her recent contract with Friction? Well, it was only natural, tought the brunette. It was quite a buzz when she got tranferred, at first as a test.... maybe it was why Ms Sellers wanted to meet her?

"Yes, I did. I was invited to the Summer Splash event, and after I accepted we had a fun conversation in her office!"

Of course, it wasn't exactly fun, as by no good reason Lukretia got mad and almost broke Lisa's arm... but, well, no need to give that sordid dets!

"hmm... interesting..." Melissa Sellers mused carefully as she swirled the wine flute in between her delicate fingers and then took a tender sip.. the limo ride turning out to be quite smooth and quiet, in the moments silence that Melissa left, Lisa could hear the faint tones of classical music being played on low.

"I was under the impression that you were seeking to leave Tension for a preferred contract within Friction... Perhaps I was mistaken.."

Lisa would think that Ms Sellers wanted to talk about business with her, perhaps... but that situation was pretty unusual. Having that kind of meeting with her was exciting, of course, a free ride on a limo, good wine, relaxing music... but Melissa wasn't getting to the point yet.

Or maybe she would, but slowly, casually, like the gracious walk of a cat over the prey.

"Oh, no Ms Sellers, you were right. I did intend to leave Tension..." Lisa said as the blond finished speaking, drinking some wine. "... but that doesn't mean I quit."

Melissa was a little surprised Lisa was so open about that considering she was the GM of Tension and considering her sisters reputation.. She thought Lisa might be a little more secretive and cautious around her

"Why, prey tell, do you think you will be better off in Friction than in Tension?"

"Hmm... I think it's a matter of coherency... and opportunity, Ms Sellers. I was given the chance for a shot at the Friction league, and the payment was really good! Not only that, there is the issue of transport commodity as well. You may have noticed that I don't have a ride..." Lisa answered, licking her lower lip a bit to clean the wine from it as she looked to the blond woman sitting on the comfortable limo bench.

The tall Italian had already been through a similar conversation, of course this was much more comfortable than the one she had with Ms Crezfeuldt, but the brunette couldn't help to feel that it was another test of some sorts...

"Where would you like me better, Ms Sellers?" she threw back the question after a small breath, looking to the flute of wine in her hands, and then directly at Melissa's face, without staring at her eyes, waiting for her opinion about the career.

Melissa smiled knowingly

"Of course I can't give an unbiased answer to that because my interests lies solely within Tension.. However it is interesting that you mention 'opportunity', because the one thing I can say undoubtedly and unbiasedly is that with Tension there is indeed an opportunity.

The Tension world title... Equivalent to the prestigious Friction's world title.. Except you wouldn't have to win Lukretia's favour before fighting your way through ten opponents in turn just to get a sniff at it. No, all you would have to do is beat one opponent... *If* you were to agree to my terms that is."

A Title! Not only a title.,but Tension's most important one! Lisa's eyes were shinning as she absorbed each word from the woman's mouth with excitement.

"Wow, thank, thank you! A title... wow! I'm sure in! What are the terms?" the young and ambitious wrestler asked, energically, almost dropping her flute of wine as she leaned her body closer to Melissa.

Seemed like the she took the bait rather easily.. Melissa took a long slow sip of her wine.

"No stipulations really... Oh... Of course, if you were to become Tension world champion... I couldn't exactly have you running off to Friction now could I? The Tension World Champions home is at Tension..." Melissa waved her hand dismissively "You'll just have to rip up that contract Lukretia's given you and throw it in her face so to speak..." Melissa let out a short laugh at the thought..

"Thats not to say that you won't be allowed in Friction.. If you win the belt, I'm sure you could visit on occasions to represent Tension's interests and show up the Friction wrestlers.."

"No problem, I didn't intend to stay forever in Friction anyways..." Lisa said. "The Summer Splash event was the main reason I 'switched' leagues. And Ms Creuzfeltd offered me a good opportunity for a well-paid season there, since I was short on money... But I guess the world title is worth a nice payment, am I right?"

Probably it was. And probably Lukretia couldn't back up that offer... and Lisa would get to see Okami again, after so long. The brunette just needed to know:

"Okay, I'm in. When and who I will fight?"

"Well... Lets keep this notion of you staying in and representing Tension to ourselves for now shall we deary..?" Melissa put the wine flute down and reached over for a folder that sat on the limo seat beside her, opening it she pulled out some papers and flicked through it.

"I plan to have the match set up imminently.. And I believe you're already *intimately* acquainted with the opponent I had in mind... Kent Quick?" Melissa pulled out a paper that happened to have Kent's picture on it, passing over to Lisa.

"Perhaps this would be a opportune time to take a measure of revenge, don't you think?"
