Annoyance: When Child Movie stars end up growing up to be hot, first making you think "Woah...your hot" then having an image of them when they were younger randomly flashes into your brain.

Annoyance: When you just now realize that the background of your Cena avatar isn't just a red texture: It's hearts. And then you realize how this makes you look like you have a special connection with John Cena.

Annoyance: Having realized this and then you are too stubborn to yield to such perceived social pressure to change it. Plus, he does look damn good. Kinda... kinda hot really, if you ask me.

Annoyance: When people talk about subjects they know NOTHING about.

I'll say it again: WHEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT SUBJECTS THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, ACTING LIKE THEY'RE EXPERTS ON THE TOPIC.

Just because you skimmed a Wikipedia page about something or overheard some friends discussing it or saw something about it on TV, that does NOT mean you know shit about a topic. Argh, it drives me up the wall when people act like they're big experts on this or that, when in reality they know jack shit about it.

The mentality of "you don't work there, you don't know anything about it":
The guy that irks me most with this beside any experts who think that this and that is economically without alternative is Al Snow, head trainer of OFW Wrestling, with his apple trees and wrestling shit. Stating that watching apple trees some hours a day doesn't make you an expert with apples, leading me to believe that this guy has never seen an apple tree in RL. If you watch apple trees for some time, you will OF COURSE learn something about apples if you try. Observation is key to almost everything, I learned countless things from hobby gardeners although I did gardening for a living.

Edit: You don't become an expert in this way of course, but stating that you know nothing when you are not deeply involved is just wrong.

Not 'nothing', perhaps, but you don't know enough to hold a worthwhile conversation with people about the subject.

If all you've done is watch an apple tree for an hour or two every day, you damn sure better not be going around acting like you're an expert on apple trees.

Surely not. But the line of expertise is quite blurry. I've some experience with demand vs. price, ABC analysis, warehouse management and break even points but don't consider myself an expert in that field. Could I follow a teacher or even a professor holding an lesson at college about it, maybe missing the finer points in higher economy mathematics? Definetely.

My point is that it's possible for fans to see !!!roughly!!! how a wrestling promotion works, even when they just watch from the outside as patterns stay patterns.
For example Santino vs. Del Rio. Everyone who pays attention to wrestling knows why Del Rio is going to win it(buld him for WHC), although Santino is the US Champion.
But anyone stating that he knows for sure that HHH buries talent or Cena is a phony is clearly fishing in the blue when he doesn't have close ties to the company, dividing the expert/insider from the spectator.
