Kaoru Yoshida vs. Spider Kikuchi - A Bad Start

If Kaoru was smart, she’d stay out of the ring. If she were smart, she know she was beaten, and realize that it simply wasn’t worth the trouble to get back in the ring. No title was on the line. No prize was being fought for. There was no grand stipulation to award her for winning. The only thing that waited for her if she came back into the ring was a beating.

But she wasn’t smart. She was stupid. And honorable, which was about the same thing as far as Spider was concerned.

When she came sliding back into the ring, Spider greeted the younger wrestler with kicks. Solid kicks. Three good, harsh, wild stomps to her back, hammering her into the mat, making sure she didn’t get back up until Spider was ready to let her backup, and no sooner.

Kaoru was greeted with not one, not two but three harsh kicks while she was still in the process of getting up. The first strike caught her by surprise. The second made her groan in pain. The third made her growl in both pain and anger. The nerve of Spider to do sonething so underhanded- except it wasn't. This was wrestling and everything she did was in the confines of what was expected. She hissed through her teeth getting off the ground and into an all fours position.

The Karate fighter stood up, her balance thrown off for a second before raising her fists in a karate stance. She extended an arm towards her opponent before performing a sweeping gesture and reshaping her stance. A fist was by her side at her hip and her palm was facing her opponent. Kaoru took a deep breath and cleared her thoughts of her frustration.

She had no words for Spider and circled her. Words would only lead to mind games of which, she no interest in playing.

Spider’s kicks sliced into Kaoru’s side, hitting at the tip, making sure she stabbed deep with each one. As confident as she was in her current position, she knew better than to give this one any leeway. The woman was naive, but not stupid, and things could very well get out of hand once more if she wasn’t capable and ready.

So, when Kaoru moved to stand got into her position once more, Spider moved into position and stood at the ready, raising her arms with open hands. She wasn’t a real striker, not on the vaunted level of a black belt, but she wasn’t incompetent, either.

She moved in, nice and easy, taking slow and careful steps, until she was right in striking range. She lifted her leg, looking like she was going to try a kick, but she lurched forward instead and attempt to give Kaoru an openhanded slap in the face, looking to stun her.

Kaoru cautiously observed her opponent, the Karate fighter concentrated on remaining calm. When Spider came forward, she because extremely cautious. All she had seen from Spider was that she was slippery and relies on cheap tricks, it was dubious for her to come at her. Kaoru might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but she knew that this was a bait of some kind. She held her concentration in her mind like a vice grip as Spider lifted her leg for what appeared to be a kick. Kaoru lifted her leg to check the kick back but being a disciplined striker didn't let her attention be fully devoted to her opponent's lower half. Her eye caught a shift in her opponent's shoulder and she recognized that a strike was coming.

Kaoru hopped back avoiding the slap by inches, she would leap back in before driving her fist into Spider's solar plexus. The Karate fighter wouldn't stop there though, she would try to kick her opponent in the head with a roundhouse kick.

"Hyah!"

And this was why Spider didn’t like relying on her strikes. When they bit her in the ass, they bit hard.

She hissed as her blow missed its mark, did nothing but slice through the air, and before she had the chance to follow up, Kaoru was applying more pressure, coming straight towards her with confidence. Spider tried to step out of range and raised her arms in defense, but she was too slow, and the blow hit her straight in the gut, forcing the wind clean out of her.

She was heaving, gasping, and it was only by a small miracle that she managed to get her arm up in time to block the roundhouse kick, a blow that surely would’ve laid her out. It wasn’t as if she managed to escape unscathed, however. The blow still had enough force to make her stumble into the turnbuckle, where she turtled up in preparation for what was coming her way.
