Raising the Bar

Blossom was impressed, too. Legit impressed by Cammy’s surprising power and skill. Landing the Northern Suplex was difficult enough - it wasn’t enough to be strong. For it to be done right, it required a flexibility that few wrestlers could truly master. Even though she was on the receiving end, she could tell that Cammy executed hers masterfully, and the same applied for the follow up. If she wasn’t so busy getting slammed, she would’ve applauded.

After that hard slamming, there wasn’t much Blossom could do offensively, but that didn’t mean she could remain passive. Right now her shoulders were pinned to the mat, and her instincts kicked in - she summoned what strength she had to push Cammy off of her and roll over to her chest.

That was about all she had the energy for, though. Beyond that, she couldn’t do much more than lay there and try to catch her breath.

It didn't take too much for Blossom to get Cammy off after both of the Northern Lights Suplexes. Even though the blonde was better off than her American opponent, managing to lift a smaller opponent than her with it had been taxing, and keeping the rather tough girl in line had required its own expenditure of resources.

To be honest, Cammy was thankful for the moment to catch her breath too. Not that she'd ever admit it. The blonde wanted, needed, people to see her as the invincible bitch-queen that she liked to believe that she was.

So when Millie walked over, looking rather concerned, Cammy needed to put on a strong face.

"Ye two alreet?" The English woman asked, a hint of concern in her voice as she raised an eyebrow, looking more at Blossom than at her manager. "Don't wear yerselves oot in a spar now." She added, begrudgingly offering a hand out to the blonde first.

"I'm fine," Cammy replied, slapping the hand away and pushing herself back up to her feet. "Ready for more?" She purred, turning to Blossom and trying to hide the slight pant in her breathing.

For a moment, Blossom laid on the floor, not moving much at all as she caught her breath. Cammy was good. Surprisingly good. It was hard to gauge her against Millie when they’d only been wrestling a couple of minutes, but so far, they seemed like a power pair.

Was she getting excited? Yes

Blossom raised her arms, stretched out, and gave Cammy a quick clap. She sat up a moment later, then rolled forward and popped up to her feet as fast as her aching back would allow. ”Woof.” She shook her head, dusted herself off, and dropped back into her stance. Complete with her effervescent smile.  ”You’re pretty good, gotta say. Let’s keep it going, I’m having fun.”

Millie rolled her eyes at her manager and extended her hand out to her friend instead, only to watch as Blossom bounded back up to her feet with that usual smile of hers. The Briton stood there awkwardly for a moment before slowly reeling her hand back in, glancing between the two, and taking a half step back.

Cammy raised an eyebrow and smirked as Blossom dusted herself off and got back into her fighting stance. This one was certainly a character.

"Very well," The blonde chuckled, slowly lowering herself into a more fitting grappling stance, sliding her legs apart and dropping her centre of gravity. "You're tough yourself, come now, why don't you show me what you've got and make the first move?"

Blossom was about to get back into the thick of it, when she noticed something important: Millie had her hand extended and was slowly reeling it back in, which could only mean that she’d attempted a high-five and been cruelly denied. Unacceptable. Blossom was all too quick to right that wrong, jumping over and giving her hand the hearty slap it deserved.

With that crucial bit of business handled, Blossom spun back to face Cammy and immediately dropped down into a mirrored wrestling stance, looking ready to pounce. ”You want it?” She grinned, her lips taking on an impish twist. ”You want me?” She took a big step forward. ”You got me!”

With that, she moved in and went low, grabbing for Cammy’s leg to pull it in for a single-leg takedown.

After having failed to help either woman back up to their feet, Millie was completely taken by surprise when Blossom bounded over to her and slapped a high-five into her retracting palm. The Briton blinked at her, before figuring that this was her best way to save face. "Ye got this." She assured her friend along with a small smile and a wink.

"More than anything." Cammy purred, not knowing if it was having an impact on her opponent by this point, more just doing it for her own entertainment. She smirked as Blossom took a big step forwards, readying herself for whatever the American may bring.

As Blossom moved in, the blonde took a swing for her head, only to find herself punching at air as her opponent went low and grabbed at her leg in a single-leg takedown. Cammy gasped, dropping her punch mid-swing as she tried to grab at Blossom's head for some kind of support before she found herself on the ground.

”I got this!” Blossom echoed Millie’s words, as she got ready to tangle with Cammy again. This time she came in with a plan - bring the woman to the ground and dominate from there, where her size wouldn’t be too much of a liability.

So she came in with the single-leg, and it paid off. Sort of.

She got Cammy to go down easy enough, throwing her weight on top and getting a dominant position...but not before the blond snagged her head and put on a good grip. The moment they hit the floor, Blossom brought up a hand to Millie’s face and started to push against it, trying to yank her head free.

Millie chortled at how Blossom echoed her words, flashing another small, friendly smile at her new friend. She was starting to feel more like an older version of herself and, for the time being at least, she kind of liked it. The smile faded slightly as she seemed to get lost in some unwanted memory, silently reminding herself to drink that one away that night.

"Augh, dammit...!" Cammy hissed as she hit the ground, arm wrapped around Blossom's head. At least they seemed to be in a stalemate for the time being, or they were until Blossom planted a hand in her face.

The blonde's head was shoved back with a slightly muffled, "Grrr!" She gritted her teeth as the American kept the pressure up on her, trying to hold on for dear life. Things certainly weren't helped by the fact that she wasn't in a particularly advantageous position, and soon the force being applied to her head was too much, leading to Cammy abandoning her hold on Blossom's head. The blonde would instead grab at Blossom's arm and try to pry her off in an attempt to free her own head.

Don’t panic. That was the key, in Blossom’s experience. It was so easy to get lost in experiences like this, when you were on the floor, wrestling, putting yourself into holds that could so easily go wrong and bite you in the butt. It was a lesson she’d learned in highschool, and her time in the AFW had only reinforced it.

She took it to heart, now as she and Cammy jostled for position, fighting to be free of each other’s grip. Cammy gave up hers first, but only so she could force Blossom to leave hers, and she was well n her way to making that happen. Even though she was on top, her options were limited.

She wanted her to drop the hold? Fine. Blossom would drop the hold.

But not without going for something better.

She let go and shifted to Cammy’s side, reaching for her other arm as she did. With a solid hold on that, she tried to work it between her legs, going for a scissored armbar on the wily blonde.

Cammy was starting to get desperate. What had begun as the blonde wanting to have fun was turning into a match for her very pride, and to her annoyance she seemed to be losing.

She had (as much as she would never admit it) already been tired going into this second round, and now she found herself seemingly firmly in Blossom's field. So she did what she could, push Blossom as hard as she could and try to force her to drop her hold.

And for a moment, it seemed to be working. But only for a moment.

The blonde let out a slight gasp as she felt Blossom shifting to her side, desperately trying to ignore the way Millie came out of what seemed to be a trance to smirk at the blonde after that little sound.

Grabbing at Blossom, she did her best to escape. But try as she might, soon found herself trapped in a scissored armbar and at the brunette's mercy.
