Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal IMG_20151020_043340_zpsxfd0woa3

Match Type: Standard
Victory Conditions: Pinfall, Submission, or KO
Victory Stipulations: The winner will either keep or take the Queen of the Slamazons title.

***

This was weird.

Valley Doll was waiting in the back around the guerilla position, as she’d done many times. She was in her ringout, doing a few stretches, while the ring crew buzzed around her and got ready for the match. Her match. Unlike those other times, though, today she was goin to be fighting for her title.

Her Slamazons title.

This was really weird.

The stipulation had raised a few eyebrows backstage, and she wasn't surprised. Defending the belt of a company that no longer existed? That was new. Valley didn't consider herself the Slamazons champion, really, since it was a little hard to be the champion of a defunct company.

But Chris had insisted on this match, and she wasn't about to turn down an opportunity to face the giantess once more. It had been over a year since their last clash, and Valley had improved in substantial ways since then. She was curious to see how her newly honed skills matched up, and what new moves the Phenomenon would bringing against them.

Rematch time.

Valley’s music started up and the woman herself came out a moment later, dancing to the music like she always did, only with the Slamazons belt throwing her off a tad. Despite the weird stip, the crowd still looked excited to see her, knowing Valley was about to do her best to give them a top notch match, whatever the reason. She'd had a good year so far - a hard fought loss against Julia Rogers and a hard fought win against Alicia Wells - and it was time to see if she could keep rolling with her momentum and barrel through a wall that had stopped her before.

Eager to get things started, Valley rolled in under the bottom ropes and skipped over to the far corner, taking a second to pose with the belt along the way. She folded it up, nice and neat, and sat it down under the turnbuckle. It wasn’t an official AFW title, so the AFW couldn’t treat it like one, but that wouldn’t stop her from keeping it safe.

With that all done, she turned back around and started to stretch with the ropes, getting nice and limber as the music faded.

Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal Empty Re: Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal

Sitting quietly in one of the AFW's small locker rooms, Chris Morgan was thinking about the match ahead. Valley was the first opponent she had ever faced in this league. Although she hadn't faced as many opponents as her friend had in the time since their match, nobody could doubt that Chris had been in battles. Her recent war with Risako and a hard fought match against Fujiko Hinomoto had tested her severely.

Standing up, she exited the room, striding through the backstage area. Coming to the curtain that led out onto the ramp, Chris waited for the opening notes of her song to pass. Then, as the music reached a crescendo, she stepped through. While the majority of fans were firmly behind Valley, Chris's 'I don't run or hide from anyone' attitude and her recent saving of Suzumi Ishikawa had won her a decent amount of cheers from the crowd as she walked down to the ring.

Seeing Valley already in the ring, Chris had to wonder what people were thinking about the match stipulation. Fighting for a belt that had no meaning at all within the AFW? But, Valley deserved a chance to be a defending champion, even if it was for one night. Although, it might also mean Chris might wind up walking away with it.

Such was the risk of holding a title.

Then again, Chris was staking something she thought was more important, at least from her point of view, now that she thought about it. The Phenomenon was currently unbeaten. A person who was undefeated would give the Wrestle Angels enemies a pause. And, with Valley scoring wins over her old league mates, she was getting a reputation of being a sort of 'angel slayer' in her own right. No, Chris would not see her name added to Valley's growing list of beaten Angels. A look of grim determination crossed her face as she mulled the matter over while entering the ring. One day it would be nice to have a match where she didn't have to worry about the consequences for losing.

But today wasn't that day.

"Hey Val." Chris said as she met her friend in the center of the ring. "That's a nice belt over there."

Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal Empty Re: Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal

God, Chris Morgan was tall.

Valley knew that, obviously. She’d seen Chris plenty of times since their last match. They’d talked. They’re hung out. They’d trained.

But there was something special about seeing her come down the ramp, marching down to her glorious music, looking every bit like her most famous nickname. She didn’t seem like a human. She seemed like some divine beign, descended from a higher plane, a wrestling goddess come to teach lowly humans how to properly conduct themselves in the squared circle.

It was a little intimidating.

But Valley pushed past it once, she could push past it now. She’d just have to push past it much harder than before.

Valley came out of the corner and sauntered over to the center of the ring, meeting Chris there. She glanced back to her title, then looked up at the Phenomenon, with the slightest smirk.

”Indeed it is.” Valley started to step back as the bell rang, beckoning Chris on. ”Come and get it.”

If Valley felt nervousness about defending her belt or anything else about the match ahead, she didn't show it. Val sauntered over, as if standing toe to toe with a woman who stood head and shoulders above her was no big deal. At that moment, she was two parts confidence with one part sexiness, and was all Slamazon.

"As you wish..." Chris replied.

With that, the Wrestle Angel lunged forward, trying to catch Valley in a collar and elbow tie up. The larger woman knew that, despite the fact it was almost bully-like, she had to use her size and strength advantage aggressively, or risk giving Val the room to maneuver and use her powerful kicks.

If she caught Val, Chris would push her back towards a corner, stopping a few paces from the turnbuckles before hurling her back first towards them!

So. Time to face the giant. Strategy was required here, and it wasn’t a complicated one: don’t get caught. Don’t get crushed. Don’t get clotheslined. Granted, it was guaranteed that those things would happen eventually, but she could do her best to minimize it.

Valley lowered her stance as the giantess moved in, letting her shadow stretch across the ring as she reached over for the classic collar-and-elbow. The Slamazon got her arms up, going for it, looking like she was going to accept…

...until she ducked under the arms and darted out behind her, slipping past her at the exact last second.

Valley slipped around full circle and threw a quick low roundhouse kick to Chris’ thigh, going for a hard strike on the muscle.

Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal Empty Re: Chris Morgan vs. Valley Doll II - Phenominal

For a moment, Chris wondered if Valley had froze up. The other woman didn't try to meet the lock up, or did she try to dodge. But then her fellow Californian ducked low, at the absolute last second, slipping away.

Chris tried to turn, but she had too much momentum to simply stop on a dime. When got herself turned around, she felt a stinging pain in her thigh as Val struck it with a hard kick! The taller blonde reeled back, putting herself out of range for any follow up kicks. She felt a familiar stab of envy for the other woman's speed. It must be nice to race around, striking slower creatures at will while they struggled to keep up. Still, the old saying went 'Slow and steady wins the race.' She just had to keep at it, stick to her 'anti-Valley' strategy, and rely on her strength, skill and will, none of which had failed her yet.

"Alright..." she said giving her leg a brief shake. "You move pretty fast for an older woman, Val..."

Giving a light grin as she egged her friend about the slight age difference between them, Chris circled to her right. Stepping forward, she went with one of her new mix ups. Drawing back her right hand, Chris gave the intention of striking with one of her heavy handed towards the side of Val's head. However, it was a feint, done to attempt to make the agile Valley dodge...right into the low roundhouse coming from Chris's left leg. It certainly lacked the polished, refined technique of her friend's kick or the pinpoint targeting of striking right at the muscle group there. But it would slam into Valley's leg, high on the side with considerable force.

There was a certain irony to striking with the same blow an opponent just landed, and it would make Chris smile if the attack hit it's mark....

”Tag.”

Valley giggled and skipped away the second the kick hit, making sure to keep out of Chris Morgan’s extensive and deadly range. She had a smile on her face, enjoying herself, trying to keep things light. That was the way - stay mobile. Stay positive. Try hard not to think about the fact that you’re only one lariat away from taking a dirt nap. ”Maybe I don’t.” Valley stuck out her tongue. ”Maybe you just move slow for a young one.”

Despite the taunting, she was still on the lookout for the powerhouse’s pummeling, so when the fist came her way, Valley thought she was ready to dodge it. And she would’ve been, if that was the actual attack.

Instead, she got a kick, the same kick she’d hit Chris with, almost to the exact same place. As with everything the Phenomenon did, it was hard and hit with crushing force, lighting up Valley’s thigh with pain. She staggered away, hoping on one foot as she nursed her leg, and retreated towards the corner.

"Ooohh." Chris gave a wince, acknowledging Valley's counter burn before going after her friend.

After managing to catch Valley off guard, she watched as her fellow Californian retreated to the corner.
"You're it." Chris deadpanned.

She made no move to chase after Val. Chris figured that it was still early in the match and they could still be somewhat civil. Besides she wanted Valley to wonder what other tricks Chris might have up her sleeve. Although as far as new strikes went, not much. Most of her training went into broadening her submission skills. With foes such as Migiri Oozora and Hibiki Izayoi on the horizon, with one being as strong as her and other surpassing her in power, she hoped it might give a much needed edge.

Staying in the center of the ring the former Wrestle Angel waited on Valley to come out of the corner before moving forward cautiously. Chris would then extend a hand for a test of strength, raising an eyebrow at Valley....

The moment Valley went into the corner, her eyes shot up and her body tensed, ready to react in a number of ways. She knew Chris would be coming at her from second one, looking to pummel her in the corner, and it was here that Valley could turn the tables. A boot to the face, a well-timed dodge, maybe even a drop toe hold into the turnbuckle if she could nail the timing.

There were many possibilities. Good possibilities. None of them came to pass, though.

There was an awkward moment where Valley stared at Chris, but soon enough, all things became clear. The familiar stance she took, asking for a test of strength when there was no real doubt who had the power advantage. Chris was adding mind games to her burgeoning repertoire. That was unexpected.

But it wasn’t a problem she couldn’t handle. Valley sauntered out of the corner and reached up, accepting the test of strength with one hand, then the other, slowly lacing their fingers. She didn’t do much, not just yet. She was more curious to see what Chris' move was, so she could get a better handle on what to expect.

And how to counter it.

Well, well. Valley was actually going to take her uopon the test of strengrh. This was unexpected.

And such an obvious trick. There was no way Val meant to go through with this, right?

Still, Chris decided to go ahead, squeezing down on Valley's fingers while using her height and strength advantage to try and quickly force the other woman to her knees.

Hopefully she could overpower Valley so quickly the other woman wouldn't be able to come up with a plan!
