24/7 Championship Match: Carmen Rodriguez (C) vs. Gai Tendo - Crazy Train

Carmen wouldn't have used the ‘climatic’ to describe it, but fighting on the train was guaranteed to be a unique experience. Very little room to move, forced lateral movement, and a hard surface that would make any move that brought them down to it hurt twice as much as it would normally. Gai looked game, too.

This wouldn’t be easy. But doable? Yes.

”Talking too much.” Carmen kept her face hardened as she zeroed in on Gai. She did cross the distance, but not just with a run - she brought her leg up as she neared and tried to crack his guard with a running big boot.

The referee, who’d been standing behind Gai, hopped out of the aisle and into the seats. Wise move.

Gai had stepped forward, looking to grapple again, when her boot kicked up and nailed him right in the chest, knocking the redhead back, grabbing the seats to avoid falling onto the metal floor.

Rubbing his chest, he glared at Carmen and ran back towards her, trying to ram her into the door again!

Gai was a hardy man, Carmen would give him that much.

While she wasn’t a masterful kicker by any means, she could put some decent power into her running boot. It was a move she’d worked on, perfected, knowing it would be a good tool against people who thought they only had to worry about her upper body. It also had the added bonus of typically knocking people down and setting them up well for her next attack.

But not Gai. He kept on coming.

Carmen braced herself and raised her arms as he came back in, trying to force him into a collar-and-elbow lockup. He was a solid man, but she was a solid man, and this test of strength was the best way to determine who held the edge in the power department.

Gai's attempted charge was met head on by Carmen, the champ locking up with the challenger, the two of them pushing against each other to see who could get the advantage.

In his mind, Gai thanked the seats on the train, knowing full well if it wasn't for being able to use them to stay steady, he'd have been knocked flat by that boot, his chest hurting with every breath he took as he tried to overpower Carmen.

"You don't think some girl like you can match strength with me do ya? Back in Buriki, girls were used as practice dummies!"

When the two wrestlers met in the middle and locked horns, Carmen wasn’t immediately bowled over like many women would be. On top of her own strength, honed through decades of training, she was also slightly taller and heavier than Gai, tilting things slightly in her favor. She was able to provide some real resistance.

Just not quite enough. She was driven back one step, then another, and it was becoming painfully obvious who was in control of this situation. Not her.

But she could work with that. ”Not a girl…” She blurted out through her grunts. ”I’m a woman. And this isn’t Buriki.”

Carmen broke away from the failing lockup and reached for Gai’s arm, getting a grip the forearm with both hands as she slid away. She fell to her back and tried to send the Buriki fighter rolling down the aisle with an arm drag.

On its own, an arm drag wasn't that painful a move. A quick tumble was normally all it was, quick to get up from.

That was on a ring mat though. When one was thrown onto the metal floor of a train, it hurt a lot more.

When one was thrown onto the metal floor of a MOVING train, it not only hurt, but the victim tended to bounce repeatedly from the trains momentum, Gai only stopping when he smacked back against the door he had slammed Carmen into earlier, groaning as his entire body flared with pain, shaking his head as he tried to push himself up, stumbling in the process.

The arm drag worked and work splendidly, giving Carmen more room to work with. The train’s momentum was adding an interesting element to the fight, one she’d have to keep track of from this point on. A little annoying, but the 24/7 was all about adapting to your surroundings, wasn’t it?

As Gai rolled one way, she stepped back in the opposite direction, crouching down as she moved. Of all the new moves she’d learned, she had one that she expected Gai would really appreciate it.

She waited until he was about halfway up and then she broke into a run, sprinting straight at him down the aisle. When she was at just the right range, Carmen leapt towards and raised her leg, trying to plow him down with a high knee to the chest.

Gai was about halfway up to his feet when Carmen's knee plowed into his chest, knocking him onto the cold metal floor with her knee on top of him.

Gasping, the wind knocked out of him, Gai grabbed Carmen's leg, trying to force it off him and get it to stop digging into his chest.

If Gai wanted Carmen to back off, he’d get that. In fact, she’d do a lot more than that.

Carmen stood up and backed away from Gai, giving her a few feet to get back on his feet and recover. She still had her guard up, albeit laxed, motioning for him to get up and come her way. One foot tapping on the metal floor.

”Had enough, Buriki?” She narrowed her eyes and peered from the shadow of her own fists. ”It only gets harder from here. Welcome to Tension.”

It took the newcomer an extra minute to finally get up, that knee to his chest really doing a number on him, but thanks to grabbing a chair he was upright again, growling at the cocky looking bitch, starting to regret not just beating her down from the start.

"Cocky bitch!"

He yelled, charging head on at her, trying, if he could, to throw his weight at her and tackle her onto the floor.
