I'm her Canadian friend who she gave her PC due to mines has crashed. She was nice enough to give it to me to help a friend in need. So she got a spared one that she uses for the things I've mention above. BTW, Anegge and Alexandra be sure to check the E-mail adresses carefully. As Archergurl and me aren't the same thing.

Steel was helping. It helped lower the overall power of Psychic, as well as give a needed buff to Fire.

The system Pokemon uses is simple enough, most of the type advantages and disadvantages make sense.

Rock paper scissors as a game makes sense. Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard pretty much does too. The one with the volcanoes and earthquakes and robots added to rock paper scissors? That shit crazy.

My approach to pokemon would have been to limit the types to 6 or 7. (Especially since pokemon can also have a subtype.)
Fire, water, grass, lightning, and ice mostly makes sense together (well once you wrap you're mind around the relationship between ice and water). Poison, flying, ground, I'm starting to get a bit confused.

Ghost, bug, psychic, fighting, steel, dark, motherfucking dragon? Now I am totally lost. What is the relationship between lightning and psychic? Can a bug fight a ghost? Why isn't Charizard a dragon?

What I'm trying to say here is that the proper solution to fixing a system that is confusing and unbalanced due to bloat is not adding additional features to that system. Of course, they're in over their head here because they can't very well remove things from the system now, or it won't "be pokemon".

Lightning and Psychic have no relationship. Charizard isn't a dragon because for two reasons. One is because back in generation one, there was only dragon evolution line. Dragons were meant to be just that, a rare, mythic beast. That, and it would have thrown the starter balance completely out the window (That is, if generation wasn't a complete mess anyway...).

But isn't very effective on Ghost, because Ghosts are meant to be creepy as fuck, and it's hard to creep them out with Bugs, y'know?

Pokemon was never meant to be an overly balanced game anyway. It has multiplayer, yes, but it wasn't meant to be competitive multiplayer. All the hidden numbers in the game are hidden for a reason.

That being said, fuck Ice and Water. The relationship between those two IS as stupid as hell and I don't like it and never will. <img src=" title="Neutral" />

I still have yet to grasp why Psychic types apparently trump Poison types. Or why Dark types aren't very effective against Steel types.

Psychic beating Poison is 'mind over matter'. Dark isn't effective against Steel because, well, Dark uses things like biting and slashing for most of their attacks, cheap shots and blows. Go bite into a piece of metal and tell me what happens.

I can explain most every type relationship, there's a few that still don't make any sense to me (Ice and Water I'm glaring at you two <_<), but most of them I've figured out.
