Strategy: “Hit them until they stay down,” is her typical gameplan in a nutshell. She doesn’t often form complex strategies or a moveset designed to pick apart specific body parts. Humiliation tactics, aerial assaults and hard strikes are her primary weapons. She also knows a handful of creative submission holds, and is quick on her feet and good at dodging and reversing attacks. And, she’s known to bend the rules whenever she thinks she can get away with it. If all else fails, she will use the guitar she brings to the ring with her as an equalizer.

Blabber Girl: She jumps on the shoulders of her opponent and performs a backflip, spiking on their head with a hurricanrana. Candy Cane then rolls over with her legs hooked around her opponent's arms so that they are now on their stomach, before grabbing her opponent's bottom and pulling it so that her opponent is in a headstand. Then she finishes the move by unleashing a vicious kick to their exposed back.

Blabber Girl:

Electric Guitar: Candy Cane uses the electric guitar she brings to the ring with her as a weapon, swinging it at the head of her opponent to deliver a potential knockout blow. (Reserved for matches with No DQs…or times when the referee is conveniently distracted or unconscious)

Sliding Shot: Candy Cane climbs to the top rope, then jumps off of the corner and nails her opponent in the head with a diving thrust kick. She uses the momentum of her kick to slide on top of her opponent until they stop.

High School Driver: Candy Cane starts by leaping over her opponent by springing off of their knee. Once she clears over her opponent, she scissors her legs around her opponent's neck and performs a frontflip to swing through her opponent's open legs, forcing them to fall backwards. Upon completing the rotation, she grabs her opponent's leg and transitions into a seated pin as they land on their back.

High School Driver:

Rafflesia: First she sticks both of her feet underneath her opponent's ankles and brings them to a seated position. After pointing toward the crowd, she hooks each of her opponent's arms behind the opponent's back. Candy Cane then rolls on her back to hold her opponent on top of her, upside-down. Finally, Candy Cane spreads her legs to open her opponent's legs, revealing the groin area to the crowd. As her opponent's body and legs are stretched out, Candy Cane humiliates them into submission.

Personality: Candy Cane is loud-mouthed, rude, and confrontational. She has a chip on her shoulder when it comes to her singing, and as such does not like working with or even being around other performers. Candy seems eager to have the audience's attention, and will often try to hog the spotlight, making a scene or causing a disturbance to do so. Despite her tendencies for delinquency and even bullying, she has a surprising capacity for altruism. But rarely will she ever make it known when her intentions are respectable. Candy knows the bratty attitude she’s known for is an important aspect of the persona that wrestling fans have come to know her by, and there’s little she won’t do to preserve that reputation.

Past/History: Becky Welsh’s parents were killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver when she was little. She was taken in by an orphanage. But the tragic loss of her parents filled her with anger she had trouble getting over, while similar circumstances contributed to the other children there having their own emotional issues. Her childhood was rough, filled with more than enough fighting between her and everyone else at the orphanage. However, though she never expressed it outright, she gradually grew to appreciate what the people running that place had done for her.

School life wasn’t any better. Becky fought with her classmates as much as anyone at the orphanage. Difference was, most people at school didn’t have the guts to fight back. She became a bully, often getting what she wanted from other students either with violence or threats of it. She served detentions and suspensions, more than she could count. The school tried offering her alternative paths to channel her energy, suggesting several different athletic clubs specifically. Frankly, Becky wondered why they didn’t just expel her and be done with it. But for some reason, they never did…

Sports didn’t work out, though not for lack of skill. Becky proved to be quite the athlete and would have thrived in several of the sports she attempted. That is, if she could’ve gotten through one practice session without getting herself into another fight. She did form a punk rock group called “The Killer Bambies” with a few friends she’d managed to make. It was a step in the right direction, albeit only a tiny one.

No one tried harder to help Becky improve than one of her teachers, Miss Spencer. The woman seemed to be at the forefront of every attempt to steer back from the rebellious path she was on, and she was annoyingly relentless. Becky couldn’t understand why the woman wouldn’t just stop nagging her and get off her case. She refused to cooperate, becoming defensive any time her teacher broached any topic of Becky’s behavior or the various issues in her life. Ironically enough, this got to a point that she would sometimes do better with her schoolwork, or avoid doing things that would get her in trouble just to avoid being forced into another chat with Miss Spencer. Whenever she noticed this, however, she would become irritated and resort right back to her bad behavior out of spite. It was a constant battle that trended back and forth in either direction. But with only a couple months left in her senior year, Becky was miraculously on course to (barely) pass all her classes and graduate.

…Until she learned the orphanage where she had been raised had gone broke and was going to close down. Heartbroken, she searched for a way, any way, to quickly make the money needed to save the orphanage. That search led her to an Open Invitational pro-wrestling tournament in Japan, held by the Rumble Roses promotion. She knew nothing about the company, but had casually watched wrestling through middle and high school, enough to know how it worked. With the help of a friend who knew how to make really convincing fake IDs and passports, she went to Japan and enrolled in the tournament.

She took on the stage name “Candy Cane.” And though she had no in-ring experience to that point, her skillful ability to bend the rules helped her win several matches, though she ultimately lost before she could reach the finals. However, while not the 1st place winner’s earnings, she made it far enough to receive a fairly sizable cash prize. It didn’t completely solve the orphanage’s money issues, but it kept them open long enough to find a way to handle the rest. The issue had been dealt with, and “Candy” found she’d really enjoyed wrestling, and evidently the promoter liked her too, because he offered her a contract the day she was supposed to fly back to Canada. Naturally she accepted with almost no hesitation.

There was just one little problem. Miss Spencer had followed her to Japan and started wrestling for Rumble Roses too! Or at least, that was her cover. Any time they saw each other, her former teacher would try to talk her into going back home to build a “normal” life for herself. But all the while, Miss Spencer was growing to like life as a wrestler just as much as Candy. The debates gradually became much shorter affairs. It seemed their paths were all but set, until detectives and police eventually started to question her about her “relationship” with Miss Spencer. Rumors had apparently been spreading about them - of course Candy hadn’t heard of them since no one was brave or stupid enough to ask her about it directly. But in spite of Candy’s repeated insistence that nothing inappropriate had ever happened between them, Miss Spencer was still fired over the issue. For so long she’d wanted that teacher off her back. Now that it had happened, Candy just felt guilty and helpless.

But, karma’s a bitch. Rumble Roses closed its doors not long after. Candy, thinking her run with wrestling had ended, finally went back to Canada. She hooked back up with her band, touring the country, though their small gigs pulled in a rather meager income. But one day she received a call from one of the former executives from Rumble Roses. Candy had always considered the guy a prick and a piece of shit. But he said he worked for AFW now and was trying to get some of the old RR wrestlers hired there - no doubt in a bid to raise his own stock in the eyes of his bosses. Still, Candy couldn’t pass up the chance to wrestle for the biggest promotion in the sport. She accepted and flew back to Japan as soon as she could, bringing the whole band with her, eager to pick her wrestling career back up where she had left it off.

Fun Facts:

- While competing for Rumble Roses, Candy and Miss Spencer met several times in the ring, as opponents in singles bouts and as partners in tag matches. Candy lost every match they had against each other, but the two made a surprisingly good team, both likely due to Miss Spencer’s prior wrestling background and how well she understood Candy.

- Besides the stage name she chose for herself, Candy Cane has two other nicknames: “No Future,” and “Anarchy in the RR.” The former is associated with the Punk genre, and the later is a nod to the Sex Pistols’ song “Anarchy in the UK.”

- Candy enjoys being the dominant one in sex. However, she secretly has a huge submissive kink for teachers. And yes, she fully blames Miss Spencer for that. She’s had a crush on the teacher for a long time, and has had more fantasies about being dominated and punished by her than she can count. Every bit of this is a closely guarded secret that Candy would never admit out loud.
