Raiden couldn't help but watch Dave with unbridled affection and care; more than he'd felt for anyone. Which…actually scared him, deeply. He couldn't let himself grow closer to Dave -- what if this man just wanted to hurt him in the end? What if it was just a trick, a ploy, in order to take advantage of his happiness and…

No, he couldn't think like that. Not without proof. He wrapped his free arm around the American snuggled into bed with him, leaning in and kissing his head. "I…I really like you, Dave." He bit his lower lip, pulling back for a moment so he could try and meet Dave's gaze. "More than I would have let myself, normally…" He trailed off for a moment, releasing his hand so he could reach up and touch his cheek. "If you hurt me, I'll end you. And if I hurt you…I expect the same treatment from you. If you don't, I'll do it to myself." Despite the fact that it was a threat, there was a shocking amount of emotion behind it. It was still affection, in the end, with a remarkable amount of fear -- not only fear that he might get hurt from this, but fear that he might end up hurting Dave.

Dave stared dead into his lover's mismatched eyes with the utmost seriousness, "I would never do anything to hurt you Raiden. I...I really like you as well."

He snuggled closer, resting his head on the soft pillow, "Enough of that though. Let's get some sleep. See you in the morning handsome."

Closing his eyes, the american soon drifted off to sleep, his head resting close to his lover's chest.

Raiden couldn't help but feel a strong sensation of elation at the return of affection, tightening his grip around Dave and pulling him in a bit tighter, resting his head against Dave's for a few moments, letting their noses touch. He grinned a bit, kissing his nose before pulling away again. "All right, beautiful. Let us sleep. Oyasumi."

With that, he nosed his neck lightly, tugging him in tight and beginning to fall asleep against him -- and launching into a shockingly fitful, restless night.
