Final Confrontation

"Gah!" Matt cried out in pain, the smaller girl's fists slamming into his knee. In underestimating Shizuka's combat experience he was paying the price. SHe wasn't infamous for nothing. It certainly hurt, so much that Matt collapsed onto his one uninjured knee, wincing in pain and temporarily vulnerable.

With Matt down on one knee, Shizuka wasted no time in her next attack. Still clamping her fists together for extra power, she would deliver a second Polish hammer blow, an overhead one this time to the back of Matt's head, the Devil Violet aiming to lay her bigger opponent across the floor.

Again Matt cried out as yet another powerful blow from the smaller girl slammed into him, this time to the back of his skull. He fell onto his stomach on the floor, dazed and unable to focus after a hit like that.

Shizuka smirked as Matt fell to the ground. She made a confident show of throwing her hair back with one hand. Then, sneering "That's exactly how I want you to be," she would repeatedly stomp the back of the knee she'd hit earlier, intending to aggravate Matt's injury. "On your face before me!"

Matt howled with agony as his knee as stomped between Shizuka's foot and the hard concrete of the roof. He rolled away in reflex, unintentionally avoiding her other stomps so he could clutch his knee in pain. He was getting completely thrashed here, he needed to turn this around!

Shizuka's second stomp hit only concrete. "Tsch!" She briefly stepped back on her 'good' foot. She had put a bit too much strength into her follow-up kick, and it had stung.

Her face twisted. "You prick..." She stormed towards his legs again. "Lie still!"

Matt rolled into a kneeling position and immediately winced in pain. Shizuka had already done quite a number on his knee. If this kept up he would barely be able to stand.

Before Shizuka could attack him once more, he pushed forward this time, charging at the girl with a powerful spear, hoping to slam her between him and the concrete.

Shizuka gasped sharply as Matt slammed into her midsection. "Gaaahhh!" she exclaimed as she was slammed into the concrete back first.

Matt had taken Shizuka down but not before taking a fair amount of damage already. His knee was throbbing and he was still slightly winded from that chase with Selene earier. Matt was in a tight spot, but at least he had an advantageous position now. "That had to hurt!" he shot back at Shizuka, and ould quickly grab Shizuka's arm to place her in an armbar.

Selene whistled softly, in awe of Shizuka's ruthless efficiency. The girl had no flash, no art. Just pure mechanical efficiency. Attack the same spot, weaken it, cripple it. It was something else.

At this point, Selene remained relatively quiet... not for lack of things to say, but she was still afraid of appearing unserious in front of Shizuka. Shizuka was a definite pro and was tough to read. Selene respected her for being a true example of a fighter, and didn't want to come across like the dabbling debutante she was to Shizuka. It was a rare moment where Selene actually cared what someone else thought. Doubly unnerving was how difficult it was to read Shizuka, especially for Selene, so she didn't know where she stood.

So Matt was fortunate, then, that Selene had precious few ways to annoy him without, at least by Selene's guess, also annoying Shizuka. In silence, her thoughts drifted... That high heel launch earlier. I can't believe Mr. Floyd was the only one who saw that! I'll never be able to duplicate that!... Hrrm, I should hire people to beat the tar out of folks I don't like more often. This is satisfying.

Matt's spear takedown of Shizuka brought Selene out of her reverie. She hissed in empathy pain for Shizuka. Unfortunately, the tackle put the two of them outside of Selene's throwing range, even from her perch above the roof door. Part of her wanted to help, but... she knew the only way to end this was for Shizuka to decisively win on her own (mostly).

Well, that and she was still unwilling to open herself to another Matt Floyd beating. Winning the last one didn't erase the memories of the first.

She felt the urge to remind Shizuka that there were no referees here on the roof, but realized that offering that information to Shizuka would also put the idea fresh on Matt's mind too. Not a good trade-off, especially with the Devil Violet still hurting. Selene bit her lip, watching in silence.
