Lamps looked really weird when you looked at them upside down. It looked like they were jutting from the floor. Hanging by his legs at the crunch rack (affectionately refered to as the Iron Maiden by a few of the gym-goers), Josh reflected on that in the brief space between one situp and another.

He was in basic workout gear - loose cotton pants and a T-shirt, the first wrapped snugly around his legs by the straps holding him up, and the second falling down to bare his muscled torso when he hung all topsy-turvy. Sweat laquered his brow, and his hair was slightly tangled as it brushed against the floor. With a little grunt of effort he raised himself into another situp. His abs already ached from the strain, and he was slightly out of breath when he fell back down, just ten crunches shy of his intended goal.

It was, what, ten days since he came here? It had taken a little while to familiarize himself with the particulars of how this place worked, and though he'd been given a brief rundown by the owners and a more thorough one by his anxious teammates he was nonetheless a little hazy on how points were awarded and for what. You were supposed to wrestle girls somehow, and he felt confident enough in his ability to toss around a member of the female gender. There were some naughty bits added in the fine print, and though he'd read them he'd paid them little attention. It looked ridiculous; but, in his heart of hearts, Josh liked ridiculous.

The new girl strolls into the gym. For lack of proper workout gear, a set of her wrestling wraps suffice for her attire. She takes a tour around the gym, examining the equipment, occasionally whistling at this fancy piece or that, mentally marking down to try them out some time. She smiles slyly as she notices him watching her out of the corner of her eye. She makes her roundabout way over to the bar next to him, agily leaping up and catching hold, pulling herself up and over, dropping down with her knees hooked over the bar. Raising (or lowering from a normal perspective) an eyebrow, she looks to him at her side. "Hi"

Another thing that looked mighty odd when viewed from a tilted perspective, he soon found out, was the female chest.

Pushing himself into another crunch, Josh suddenly found himself face to face with a stranger. What's more, a girl; the first one he'd seen since he'd come to this damned place. Given his employer's description of the establishment he'd half expected the fairer sex to lurk around every corner like lions in the jungle, but so far his stay had been depressingly devoid of any form of eye candy. That is, until just now.

Reflexively his eyes went up (down, had their gravitational juxtaposition been more ordinary), and a little smirk came over him as he concealed his sweep of her body under heavy eyelids. If she was any indication of things to come, his job perks had just taken a turn for the... well, perkier.

Her greeting caused a jumble of words to crowd at the tip of his tongue, and despite his best efforts he was unable to resist the very worst of puns.

"Hey there... You uh... hang out here a lot?"

She laughs, "That was bad enough I may have to hurt you." With a grin, she tightens her knee's grip on the bar, and doing a quick five crunches, her lithe muscles tensing from calf to thigh to abs, to shoulders to pull herself up and maintain her grip. Relaxing and letting herself fall back, hair and arms falling limply below her head, she finally responds. "Well, it's my first time here. Thought I'd check out a proper gym." A few drips of swear are starting to pool on her forehead, but she doesn't seem overly strained.

When she folded her torso upward her body went through a series of motions which caught Josh's attentions in new and delightful ways. For a moment he almost forgot to reply, but then he gathered himself enough to pull his eyes away. A week away from a decent pair of knockers and he was already behaving like a teenager.

Reaching down with his arms, he planted his palms against the ground and relinquished his leg's hold on the horizontal bar. He moved from an assisted handstand to his feet in a single, fluid movement; grace earned largely by practicing hurricanranas on more or less willing gym-mates. From his suddenly corrected view he was able to look at her in a way that boggled the mind a bit less, though for courtesy's sake he tilted his head to one side to speak.

"Decent equipment here," he conceded, looking about. "Bit dead at the most o' times."

She executes a near-perfect drop as she simply releases her locked knees, her modest height giving her room to land on her hands, guiding herself into a fluid roll off of the mat. "Now, I'm not sure, were you complimenting or insulting my equipment?" Her straight face betrays nothing of whether she's joking or not.

Oh ho ho. Well played, woman I've never met before.

At the very least the response gave him a free pass to take another visual sweep of her figure, wrapped as it was in little more than what was either a very unusual piece of clothing or an unfortunately misdyed Halloween mummy costume. Either way, there was just enough fabric there to whet the appetite, and just little enough to set Josh wondering about the specifics of those greater mysteries concealed within.

"You hold your own well enough against the barbells and the rowing machine," he said, taking a step back to look to his right. "But I don't know, that benchpress is looking pretty sexy. Might have some competition there."

She cracks a smile. "I could kick the benchpress' ass any day." She pauses, tilting her head, "Unless you want to dispute my ass kicking potential?" It's more of a question, something of a challenge.

She had spunk, he had to give her that. It took a moment or two for the implications of her question to fully sink in, but when it did he couldn't help but smile a little wider, rolling his head once in either direction to loosen up his shoulders. He was a bit tired after his half-finished workout regime, but what the hell - she was a girl, how bad could this get?

"Alright," he said, reaching down to grab the lower hem of his plain black tee, tugging it over his head and tossing it away. Loose clothing would only get in the way "If that's how it's gonna be, Cleopatra, I'm all yours."

"Lots of hard stuff in the gym, wouldn't want you to get hurt." She teases with a wink. "There's a ring, or the pool." She pauses, turning away from him in the direction of the attractions she named, her back and rear presenting their own attractions.
