Slumber Jam '14 [For Killcarrion]

Blossom knew she was treading dangerous - yet irresistibly fluffy - ground, but she couldn't quite help herself. This was the highlight of an otherwise dreary little hiatus, and she was determined to squeak out as much from it as possible. Who knew? Maybe they would get a genuine smile from Death Bunny when this was all over. Stranger things had happened. Not many stranger thing, but all the same...

She nodded her thanks to Maki for keeping things on the down-low, and went back to her work, meticulously and judiciously and even a little suspiciousy working on the Floppy One's toenails. When she and Maki were done, Blossom sat back as best as she could with the caste and looked over her work, proud at the effort - those were truly a set of toes worthy of any sandal you could hope to find. But, of course, it wasn't her opinion that mattered, here.

She looked up at Death Bunny with glee in her eyes, waiting to see the reaction. "So. What do you think?"

With the distinctly pungent aroma of freshly applied nail polish filing the air, Death peered down with a slight trepidation after having given her slumber partners free reign over her apparently mesmerizing digits. In all honesty she dreaded this moment to be the reveal of her feet as a hodgepodge of glitter, hearts, and....*hmm....thatâ€s....*

The most attention she had ever given her toes for some time now never exceeded what you could do with a nail clipper, but here her toes glistened with a particular shade of purple that matched her hair color perfectly. The entire frilliness of the whole evening fit Bunny like a round peg in a square whole. But still. Fooling around with pedicures. Boy talk....There was a subconscious reason she didn't want to do this. This wasn't her first time doing...things like...back home...so many years ago...with...

“Theyâ€re...[size=85:pva7ka9q]pretty...” Staring into her feet with a glazed over look, where ever Bunny's mind was it certainly wasn't in the same room as everyone else. Maki's face started to show some concern before she interrupted the awkward reaction to keep the mood lite. “H-Heh, yep thatâ€s definitely your color B., thanks for humorin us, that wasnâ€t so bad, now as it?~...” Maki said with a chipper glee as she placed her hand on her shoulder.

“...Huh?...Mmm...I wouldnâ€t go that far....” Almost immediately upon feeling those fingers on her shoulder Bunny re-entered the real world as if nothing had just transpired, blinking a few times before addressing Maki. Bending over Bunny would start blowing on her toes to speed up the drying of the nail polish.

In the relatively short time Blossom had known Death Bunny, she always seemed like a woman in control of herself. Never taking any guff from anyone, always having a word to say or a hard stare to throw. So when she got quiet and distant for a moment, Blossom threw a concerned look Maki's way. 'Quiet' and 'distant' were two words she never thought to apply with her, needless to say, but something was clearly bugging her, and it wasn't just the fumes. Weird.

Whatever was bugging her, she slipped out of it soon enough and came back to the world of the living, giving Blossom some relief. Maybe it was time they turned things down a notch.

"Hey." She reached for the covers and started to pull them up. She'd bought an extra large Mighty Morphing Power Rangers blanket, enough for all three of them. "Do you guys think it's time we started putting the 'slumber' into the slumber party?"

While Bunny remained curiously oblivious as to her mental vacation, steadily blowing away at her freshly colored digits, Maki appeared to share Blossoms relief that nothing serious had come of it this time. The pink haired idol occasionally found herself serving as an anchor to reality for Death, though she always wondered if she was in fact hampering Bunnyâ€s progress through whatever trauma she was coping with by snapping her out of those funks…..Yeah….it was time to sleep.

“….*yawn*….yeah, sorry everyone. Iâ€m usually not such a lightweight but todayâ€s shift worked me over something fierce….” Stretching upward while curving her back like a cat, a fairly integral question whizzed through her pink haired noggin. Perhaps THE most important question of the night that had implications reaching far beyond their comprehension.

“So are we all gonna sleep together or-?”

In a whizzing blur of purple and waving Bunny ears D.B. had already dug inside her tote bag and plopped onto her lap a rolled up sleeping bag before Maki could utter another syllable.

“……what….”

Blossom let out a big, long awkward sigh inside of her head when she saw the sleeping bag. Drats, foiled again. Death Bunny had come well prepared.

It was just as well. Blossom would have loved nothing more than to feel Bunny's skin again, relive the magic of their second 'match', but the Floppy One was clearly sensitive about that sort of thing. She'd get in the mood again, someday, and until that day came, Blossom would patiently wait.

She moved over to her side and tapped the iPod on her side, putting on the sound of ocean waves with thunder in the distance, a surefire way to help her get to sleepyland in a few minutes flat. "It's okay, Maki. You can come over here." She pat the space beside her, hoping she'd accept and be her snugglemate for the night. It wasn't particularly cold, but she was always hoping for a little someone to share warmth with. "Nice and comfy."

Nope. Not this time. No amount of puppy dog eyes or busted legs would shake Bunnyâ€s stance on this one. The idea of what kind of shenanigans could take place with under those covers with Blossomâ€s lustful imagination and grubby hands alongside the Hentai savant herself Maki Amagami….this sleeping bag was earning itâ€s worth right about now.

“…*Yawn*…donâ€t mind if I do…” Cozying up next to Blossom, a veteran sleepover-ologist like Maki had no problem sharing a bed….floor….with the flowery fighter. Resting her head on the pillow next to Blossomâ€s she turned to face the host with her hand propping up her head.

“I gotta say Blossom….itâ€s pretty cool that youâ€re gonna come back to wrestling even after what happened. Parents must be so proud, you must have a real good reason for coming back to all this…well besides wanting another crack at B.”

Deathâ€s right bunny ear would twitch involuntarily at that while she was unfurling her sleeping bag a few feet away from the pair over the floor littered with pillows and blankets.

Blossom propped up her head in much the same way as she looked at Maki, her sleeping buddy for the night. She was right, her parents were proud, though they would have likely been no matter what she'd chosen to do with her life. They'd always been supportive of her choices, even the ones they hadn't really wanted her to go with, like joining the wrestling team. She'd been lucky to have them. Very lucky.

"Yeah, I do." She smiled, closing her eyes as she started to drift off. "I love wrestling. I always have. I was down in the dumps for a little while, but really? There's nothing I'd rather do. Win or lose, I've got to get back into it."

She opened her eyes for a moment, blinking up at Maki. "What about you?" She propped up on the pillow, looking down at her fellow mini-mauler. "You were an idol before, right? What keeps drawing you back to the ring?"

Neither bunkmate would probably notice but Death paused briefly while finishing unfurling her sleeping bag. Blossoms moment of sincerity in regards to her reasoning for why she puts on the wrestling tights may have been the first genuinely serious statement she heard come out of her mouth. The Deathly One definitely took note of what she said, Blossom probably not realizing how much respect she just earned. Walking off to the sides and turning off the lights, Bunny walked back and slipped into her sleeping bag with her back to the duo.

“….*Yawn*….Well….you know, when all of this fell onto my lap, I was scared to death….oh, no pun intended B….”

“…….”

“…..Scared of what could happen to me out there. At first it all seemed like an obligation to work off my debt. All I wanted was to start singing again and get back up on that stage. But after having been at it so long….*yaawwwnnn*….kinda feel like Iâ€ve…..found another one…..”, Nodding off to the mesmerizing sound of running water and tropical birds chirping, Maki finally conked out for the night as she nustled her cheek cutely into her pillow.

“…….”

Blossom watched Maki drift off into slumberland with a serene smile on her face. She was a simple sort of girl. Fun. Carefree. A little silly. The sort of person the AFW could stand to have a few more of, really. It made Blossom a little more excited for coming back. Maybe she had come at the AFW with the wrong approach. Maybe she should spend more of her time with people like Maki. Learn a few things. Take it more seriously.

It was something to ponder as she dozed off. She wanted to come back, of course. But at the same time, she couldn't come back as before. She needed to change a few things up, that much was obvious.

"Good night, Bunny." She started to drift off into the haze of a solid slumber...

Though Bunny wouldnâ€t respond to Blossoms glad tidings they would not go unnoticed as the deathly one remained awake to hear all that was said until dozing off herself. The ambient noises would set the mood for what would surprisingly be an uneventful night of snoozing and some inadvertent cuddling between Blossom and the sleepy idol.

Thin stretching streaks of sunlight peaking through the blinders would flutter over the remains of the trioâ€s slumber party festivities; empty popcorn buckets, cups half full with ice cold tea, and nail polish bottles and brushes strewn about the tea-stained couch. The mood appropriate aroma and sounds of sizzling eggs and bacon over the stove filled the air as by now the early bird idol had already starting cooking up a storm, whistling away and happy as a clam. However, Death had tussled and turned in her sleep with her left arm and leg sticking out of the sleeping bag. The heavy sleeper still snoozed away apparently, her bunny ear coiling and recoiling with each breath, along with a slight twitch from her nose like an actual…you know.
