Dark Angel vs Cassie Elliot

Cassie turned her head away when Nikolette dabbed at her tender nose. It wasn't broken, but it still hurt.

She felt patronized by her and suddenly the memories of their match came flooding back to her. Cassie had been so humiliated then, she had felt so worthless, and here she was again, flat on her back in the ring. She could've had this one, though. She should have had them both. She felt so stupid for falling for Dark Angel's tricks, and for not being more careful. She couldn't let it end like this.

She managed a scowl. "Of course I can walk, my legs aren't broken." She snapped, and slapped Nikolette's hand away. She slowly pulled herself up to her feet, wobbling once and quickly steadying herself. Her neck was sort, more than she thought it would be but much less than Angel's would be in the morning. She'd have that to remember her by. But then, Cassie's arm was likely in much worse shape... She could feel her elbow swelling, and it was becoming difficult to bend it.

She kept her eyes low while she made her way to the ropes. The crowd was enthusiastic about her performance and her perseverance, but Cassie wasn't. She felt like a rube. She stopped, as she realized what had happened, exactly, and she turned to look at Nikolette again.

"Um... thanks." She said. Regardless of how she felt, she'd feel an awful lot worse if Nikolette hadn't saved her when she did. Who knew what Angel was willing to do. "I..." She said, but couldn't finish. She looked down and carefully slipped through the ropes.

As Angel backpedaled up the ramp, she continuing rubbing her jaw. Her arm was still sore, but it'd be fine by the next day. Her head was another story, and it irritated her to an extent. But as she watched this new girl assist Cassie, something made her smile. Sure Cassie had a good point when she said that she won and not Angel. But as she watched Cassie visibly struggle with her arm and more importantly her pride, Angel laughed. Even if Angel had been disqualified for her actions, she knew Cassie would have still lost. It wasn't just about the match, it was the fact that she had let Angel get the best of her.

Angel shook her head and disappeared into the back before Cassie ever got to her feet. Honestly she had no reason to stay now that she had won. After all, she had beaten Cassie's body, spirit, and mind. The way Cassie had begged her to stop just kept popping back into her head. She pushed the girl to her breaking point and she knew what it was like to be in those shoes. It was one of the things she needed to show the orange haired girl, to get her to come to her senses. But ultimately it was a victory, that was for sure. "One down..." Angel muttered to herself.
