Wish I had seen this sooner, but since I'm here might as well ask.

It might be a bit late but I would appreciate a critique for my second character, (link). But if you've rped with me any general critique of my writing would help too.

I'll throw my hat into the ring here. I have had a RP and one or two exchanges with people here. So how are my RP's? Anything good, anything bad, how can I make it more exciting for those on the other side of the RP?

Lord...almost everyone in the first few pages of this thread isn't on the site anymore. Oh I'm not asking for criticism, I just wanted to point out that unnerving fact.

It's not massively surprising really. People get pissed off with things or decide to move onto new sites.

Hm, I don´t really know how to start this, so sorry when I turn into ramblings a little bit.

As someone who is basically quite introverted and uses the board for recreation purposes where I have time to answer and don´t have to speak and justify myself to people like at work and can let go of my daily problems, I have the nagging feeling that something in my approach to the site may be wrong.

Why?

Because when I post something in the thread wanted section, it is not a very much sought after theme. This leaves only one or maybe a combination of 4 options to me, with three where I am undecided upon and another which I think is kind of unlikely:
Option 1: Most people feel I can not keep up with them skillwise or my suggestions for threads are not attractive enough. I am inclined to believe that this may be the reason, but on the other hand I have some people I have played multiple times with, so I am unsure about that.
Option 2: My self imposed reclusiveness regarding voice chat is a huge barrier, I may erronously come off as aloof and uninterested in my fellow posters as it is just expected to socialize that way for threads.
Option 3: Nobody reads that section of the forum anyway.
Option 4: Wrong time wrong place, everyone is busy with their good old boys club.^^

I am not asking for your sympathy here, I just want to know where I stand. I would really like to know that so that I could alter my behavior accordingly, aka keep on trying to sell my ideas to people or peddle back and just take what I can get.
I am a grown person and can take it when people say I suck and/or they don´t like my writing style. I am not stupid and know that I can´t quite keep up with the best posters on this site, maybe because I lack their talent or because english is not my native language and I miss the best words and use some more basic words here and there.

1) Don't take the site too seriously.

2) Find characters you would like to face in a match. Come up with a fun idea for a match with that character. Write a PM to the character's owner pitching that match. This is a much more reliable way of finding partners than using the Notice Board.
