I really don't see the point. It's at best a way of showing appreciation for RP, but even better than karma would be a pm or im saying "Hey, I enjoyed that thread". It becomes something it's not when people try to use it to prop up their egos. If your self esteem is dependent on receiving karma, maybe not having a karma system is a good thing while you sort that out.

It just like achievement-y things in any other game, or the number of friends on your facebook account. They are all poor substitutes for actual character and confidence.

The karma system annoys me, and I think it's more of a detriment to people than anything, but I think people are free to mess themselves up however they want.

I merely enjoyed that I had the most karma, I fail to see how that starts this.
