Kotone Shiomi [D] Vs Rareta St. Helen : Battle of Up and Comers

This was a new exciting day for the young exciting female wrestler known as Kotone Shiomi. This was her debut in AFW, and in this league that was been around for a while. The possibilities of her becoming a new top star here were endless. Today for her debut, she will bet taking on a girl named Rareta St. Helen, someone else who was similarly new, but also had a few matches under her sleeve. Kotone was going to give the audience the best performance she could muster, as she did some stretches before heading off to the ring.

Her music started, and Kotone came out of the curtain, onto the stage, waving and smiling to the fans, who were happy to see her as well. Kotone's Smile and positivity were near contagious, as she went down to the ring, slapping hands with as many fans as she could. She then walked up the steel steps, and under the second rope. She than ran to her corner and got up to the second rope facing the crowd, doing a peace sign before waving. "I'll be sure to make you all happy." The young girl yelled as she got off.

Kotone then did a few stretches, waiting for the arrival of her opponent.

Rareta was less confident. True she had more matches under her belt, but all except one of them had ended in a loss for her. Not for the first time she wondered why she was in this business again, especially if all she ever did was lose. This was not the time for that though as her music began to play, and she nervously emerged onto the stage. She gave a few weak waves before moving to the ring, Flipping easily over the ropes and landing cat-like in the ring before blushing, giving a few quick bows to the audience before settling into her side of the ring.

Something was different about Rareta, Kotone thought to herself. She seemed a lot like Mary when Kotone first met her, so shy and nervous. A part of that made Kotone not want to fight her, but maybe she can help Rareta get out of her nervousness before pinning her and winning.

"Hi Rareta, my names Kotone and I hope we have a great match today." Kotone said, holding out her hand, hoping Rareta will shake it.

Here's hoping Rareta will shake it.

Rareta saw Kotone approach and quickly braced herself for taunting. But then she heard the nice words and the hand extended in fairness and she allowed herself to briefly come out, like a rabbit cautiously checking outside its den for predators. "I...I hope so too. I hope I don't disappoint you." Sge said as she took the offered hand and shook it.

Kotone was happy that Rareta shook her hand, it was nice to meet such a friendly opponent for her first match in AFW. Kotone headed back to her corner, as she waited for the bell to rang.

DING! DING! DING!

And thus the match started, and Kotone headed to the center of the ring, looking for a Collar and Elbow Tie Up to start with Rareta.

Rareta smiled back, a small nervous smile that let her opponent know she felt similar. Then the bell rang and Kotone move to the middle of the ring and offered up that lock up. Rareta was never good at these as she focused more on Agility and speed then strength. But she also did not want to disappoint so she accepted it and almost immediately felt herself begin to be pushed back.

Kotone was about as friendly as a professional wrestler as could be, her smile intoxicating every arena she is in. And one to always want a good match, she could feel her opponent for the night, Rareta St. Helen was a little scared, but Kotone knew she would get into it.

The two grappled with a collar and elbow tie up, testing each others strength and technique, something that Kotone learned from her tag team partner in Mary. With that, she pushed against Rareta, looking for an advantage.

And to her surprise, Rareta was getting rather easily pushed back, catching the auburn haired girl by surprise. Was she even trying? Kotone wanted to figure that out for herself.

In a quick motion, Kotone would break up the collar and elbow tie up, and attempt to quickly wrap her arms around the forehead of Rareta,and pull her head towards Kotone's chest with a Side Headlock.

If that worked, Kotone would ask Rareta "Come one Rareta, your not gonna defeat me like that!"

She knew of course that she never would. Strength was never her strength after all, thst belonged to her mentor. Her strength lay is Agility, in hitting her opponent from a direction they were not prepared to get hit from. And as she was pulled into the side headlock, she was looking for a way to do just that. She attempted to sneak her leg out behind Kotone's and if that worked, to sweep her opponent off her feet in a weird take on side Russian legsweep.

Kotone knew she had the power advantage over the more athletic Rareta. This was odd for Kotone, in her matches pre AFW, she usually was at a power disadvantage due to her rather short stature, most places classifying her as a Lightweight. Kotone had to take extra time to think right now, as a situation like this was rare.

With all that thinking she was doing, Kotone never noticed that Rareta moved her leg to be behind Kotone's leg that was closest to her. She was still wrenching on her head.

"WOAH!" Kotone screeched in surprise, as she fell to her back on the mat, being caught completely by surprise. She gritted her teeth, and closed her eyes in pain.

For the moment, Kotone was stunned, Rareta had managed to outsmart her for the time being, and there was nothing she could do at the moment.

With a leap and a bound Rareta was up and moving. She ran towards the nearest rope and ran up the three cables almost as if they were stairs and took to the air, flipping herself over in a graceful Arc to land stomach side down on top of Kotone in a picture perfect shooting star press.
