Killer Instinct - Page 3 Empty Re: Killer Instinct

Blossom’s shoulder was still smarting from the nerve hold, despite getting free of it - like just about everything she did, the move was powerful and potent, and it would leave a lingering sting for hours to come. Just another sign of Death Bunny’s expertise - Blossom made a mental note to ask if her lover would show her that one sometime.

In the here and now, though, she found herself blushing at the rare compliment, thinking how much she used to crave that sort of approval. Now she could actually get it - not that often, true, but more than most could ever hope for. You might think that would leave her satisfied, but nope. She just found herself wanting it even more.

Beyond that, it made her want to earn it.

”Thanks!” She chirped back, then remembered this was supposed to be serious, and she was wasting time that could’ve been spent attacking. ”Okay, try…”

While still holding onto the hammerlock with one hand, Blossom ducked under Death Bunny’s arm, pressing up from underneath with the back of her neck. With her spare arm, she reached down, got a firm grip on her girlfriend’s legs - resisting the urge to cop a feel along the way. With a sudden jerk, Blossom lifted Death Bunny up, arched her back, and tried to drop her opponent/lover/mentor down on her shoulder with a modified belly-to-back suplex.

Offering Blossom kudos was something that, unlike her flowery lover, wasn't just a reflexive slip of the tongue. A compliment was something that not many of D.B.'s pupils could ever attest to hearing frequently, if at all. But for Blossom to power out of a nerve hold that sometimes damn near had other trainees in tears...

Congratulations could be duly doled out later. Right now, D.B. had a little issue of having her arm unnaturally cranked against her spine by someone with enough strength to keep it there for as long as she needs. The blistering shoulder joint pain was encompassing all of her thought processes at the moment. Methods of countering it were only just creeping into her mind before she felt Blossom's scruffy head slot it itself under her armpit and a firm grip pawing the back of her meaty thigh.

Aside from widened eyes and that familiar sense of impending dread, D.B. really wouldn't have any other way to react once she sensed the incoming suplex. The damn hammerlock was still cinched in, and that entrapped arm crossed out squirming free or striking back from D.B.'s dwindling list of options. All of these factors and more led to a hobbled and immobilized bunny girl being chucked over and implanted perfectly on the back of her head. Tumbling over and out of Blossom's grasp, the dazed and disoriented bunny girl rolled over and took the time on her back to admire the lighting fixtures on the ceiling.

Blossom wasn’t really sure of this move from the moment she started it. While she’d done belly-to-back suplex before, she’d never used one while holding onto a hammerlock before. She’d conceived the move a few times in her head, but this was her first time bringing it out in reality, and certainly the first time using it against someone like Death Bunny. There were so many ways it could’ve gone wrong - she could’ve overshot, or dropped her at the wrong angle and hurt her neck, or hurt her arm in the current hold, or-

But it worked. Maybe it worked a bit too well.

Blossom wanted to do some damage, but she didn’t count on it hurting Bunny so much, leaving her dazed like that. She turned around saw her on the floor, looking up at the lights, and a flood of emotions swept her away. Worry, concern, caring for this woman she’d gotten to know and like and love over the past few years, the almost reflexive reaction to comfort her…

Blossom move over on her knees and went for a headlock on Death Bunny - nothing to heavy, just something to keep her in place for the moment. ”You okay?”

D.B. wondered if Blossom was even aware of what she had just pulled off. A hammerlock suplex being one of the more advanced methods of chucking your opponent around with little to no ways for her to escape. It certainly wasn't something D.B. expected to be suffering from as she laid there spread-eagled and in a groggy daze.

To this day, having someone nearly two-thirds her size heave her around like she was a bunny-eared sack of potatoes was still a foreign sensation....and that unforeseen strength from someone of her short stature could still be the edge Blossom always knew she had...but never quite used to her full potential. This was starting to become hauntingly familiar. D.B. thinking back to their first match, and just how close she had come to losing to Blossom thanks thanks to her own shortsightedness...

The shimmering ceiling lights weren't exactly helping D.B. concentrate. Nor was the throbbing aches on her upper back and shoulders. So D.B. would shuffle to her front side with a beleaguered groan but be greeted with a muscled arm bearing down on her head once she was on her knees. It was nowhere near as constricting a headlock as D.B. knew Blossom was capable of, but considering how rattled she still was from the suplex, it was still enough to keep D.B. complacent and docile. But not docile enough for D.B. to stop doing her job.

"...*ngh*...next time...go for a roll up pin afterwards. Even if you don't get'em...*hgh*...keeps'em on their toes n' off their game." D.B. tactically muttered out in the snug side headlock in response to Blossom's heartfelt show of concern.

Blossom pulled Bunny up, as much as she could with the size difference. Holds like this were always a bit awkward for her, made no easier by the strength that her opponent could bring to bear and the way she was getting flashbacks to that time Bunny pressed her lips to that particular spot of her body, and that crazy thing she did with her tongue…

She was snapped out of a rather pleasant trip down memory lane by Death Bunny’s advice, and she grunted with some tiny frustration. She was right. She should’ve gone for the pin, there - it wouldn’t have worked, most likely, but that was hardly the point. She had to keep wearing away at her opponent, and that was a golden opportunity wasted. Had she been away from real competition that long? Was she that rusty?

With a sigh, she kept up the hold and tried to bring Death Bunny to her feet with it. Part of her was thinking of ways to go from here, moves to chain off the headlock, but she didn’t like her chances with any of them - instead, she whipped around quickly and tried to turn it into a front facelock, letting go of control only a moment before she attempted to seize it again.

The distress in Blossom's voice didn't slip by unnoticed. The icy part of D.B.'s heart that had long since been dethawed by Blossom's ceaseless affection had felt the concern in Blossom's words. It had been so awfully long since another person had taken even the slightest interest in her well-being...

D.B. strong front wavered for the slightest of seconds before she responded with her cold indifference and sound tactical tutelage. It wasn't to disregard Blossom's feelings, but to help sharpen Blossom's instincts and hide that caring heart of hers when she was in the middle of a match. The best way D.B. could show her affection for her, was to do whatever she could to prevent her from ever being taken advantage of again. For someone as cold and taciturn as her...it was all she could do at the moment.

Something else she could do, was correct Blossom for making several errors in the rudimentary headlock. As tempting as it was to appreciate the nostalgic feel of Blossom's soft skin and toned muscles, D.B.'s instructional instincts drove her to capitalize on Blossom's brief moment of transition by draping her flowery companion over her shoulders and hauling her upward. For someone as strong as D.B. was, and lightweight as Blossom was, it wouldn't take much straining effort to heave her off her feet while briefly walking to the middle of the ring. With one hand on the back of Blossom's scruffy head, and the other firmly gripping the back of her shapely backside, all it would take is sharp drop backwards for D.B.'s attempted Samoan drop.

StopthinkinghowhotsheisStopthinkinghowhotsheisStopthinkinghowhotsheis…

Blossom tried to focus hard, remembering what she here for, what she came to do, what she was preparing for. With those thoughts aside, she started to steel her hold, preparing to lift Death Bunny up for what she hoped would be a decent vertical suplex. Something to keep her deadly, yet incredibly sexy, opponent on the mat for a little while.

It was not to be, however. One moment she was preparing for the lift, the next she found herself being the one in peril, as the Fuzzy One lifted her up for what she guessed would be a Samoan Drop. She knew the position well enough to guess, but knowing about it and stopping it were two different things.

She went up. She came down. Just like that.

Blossom left out a pain grunt on impact and flopped over to her chest, nursing her aching back as she did. In a way, she was glad - it was good that she was getting the full Death Bunny experience, with all the trauma that came along with it. It was what she wanted, though she was having a hard time telling that to her aching bones.

’Too light on the facelock?” She blurted out and rolled over to her side. All she could do for the moment.

Rebounding back up into a seated position after seamlessly slamming Blossom off her shoulders, D.B. took a brief second to remain idle and hide her own pained grimace while rotating her shoulder. Truth be told, she was operating at around eighty percent from her usual self. She guessed that was to be expected after going to war with Cecilia Northman and walking away from it with only a loss to her record and a trip to the infirmary for her troubles. D.B. was putting on a strong front as best she could, and not let onto to Blossom that she was aching. But for that brief second...she faltered.

Back on her feet after having regained her stoic composure, D.B. uncharacteristically relented in her approach and instead steadily waltzed around Blossom until she was in front of her. She respected Blossom's willingness to ask questions when she didn't know what she did wrong. It showed that she was open to accepting tutelage. They were going at a steady pace so far and worked up a good, competitive sweat, so there was no harm in a break in the action so D.B. could answer her properly.

"Too light...*pant*...on the conviction."
D.B. took a quick breath to settle herself back down, arms folded while gazing downward from on high. "You hesitated when you had me in that headlock, and it doesn't take much for a decent opponent to exploit an opening. Whether it's from a moment of your opponent second guessing herself, or her thinking too long on her next maneuver. When you have the advantage, you can't waver, you have to know what you're gonna do two steps ahead, and be ready to improvise on the fly if things go wrong." D.B. glanced down and to the side, furrowing her brow while ruminating on something before looking back down at Blossom.

"Tell you what...if you can pin me to the mat for three seconds...or make me submit...I'll tell you something about myself. Something that is 100% truthful, and something I haven't told anyone in years...How does that sound to you?"

Blossom had watched all of Death Bunny’s matches. All of the available ones, anyway. She’d watched them multiple time, from different  angles thanks to there being so many people who took cell phone footage. She’d watched them in HD.  Up close. She’d even watched a couple in reverse, just for the heck of it.

The point was, she knew Death Bunny’s style better than most could claim. She knew how her lover moved. She knew it well enough to tell that this wasn’t her 100%.

But, that being said, even half  of Death Bunny was still twice more than most wrestlers in the AFW. She was a cut above, a title contender, and Blossom had never so much as gotten a whiff a gold. The closest thing she’d ever had to a championship match was Angel beating her in record time.

She was just starting to sit up, taking Bunny’s advantage to heart, when an offer was thrown on her lap. At first, she could hardly believe she was hearing what she was hearing. She wanted to learn more about Death Bunny, of course, but she felt it better to let that happen organically, whenever she was ready to talk. The chance to gleam something completely new was one tasty carrot to dangle in front of her face...or, well, not a carrot. DB hated those.

Blossom lit up, then took a deep breath and popped back to her feet, shaking off the aches as best she could. ”That sounds awesome!” She gave her cheeks a couple of slaps and moved back, retaking her position at the center of the ring.

”Okay. Okay. She nodded, steeled herself, leaned into her stance. ”Ready.”

Sometimes all it took was the proper incentive to get the desired effect out of a pupil. The fluffy eared mentor already knew from observing, and from her own first-hand experience, that Blossom always had the wrestling prowess to make it farther in this league than even she could realize. She had the technique, strength, and ring awareness down...but as long as she second guessed herself and had only wavering confidence in the ring...than her second career in wrestling would be no different than her first.

It was all just a matter of reigniting that fire inside of her and emboldening herself, and what better motivation could there be than to offer more of herself to Blossom. All those years of neglect, cold shoulders, and threats against her life...Blossom took it all and returned it with care, loving, and snuggling hugs. Crashing and burning against Cecilia helped put a lot of things in perspective. Including how special Blossom was to her, and how much she needed to start paying it all back.

...Not without a fight of course. If Blossom thought D.B. was just going to start spewing secrets about her life without having beaten it out of her first, than this was going to be a long spar for her.

"Good...cause so am I." D.B. straightened up and stretched her neck left and right to get the kinks out. With one deep breath and an impactful punch into her other palm to get her competitive blood pumping, D.B. began her stalking approach with dead seriousness in her eyes before stomping into the lock up with every facet of her strength centered on bull-rushing Blossom into the corner. The training gloves were now officially off...
