Silver Ace and Alicia Wells vs. Abattoir and River Styx - Friends Like These

Yeah, Abattoir was a little pissed about the sudden tag. Understandably so. But, in Styx’s defense, her fellow WAR member had presented with a vulnerable, battered Silver Ace to pummel. Practically gift wrapped. She couldn't not take the opportunity.

”Excuse me.” Styx pulled the rope and jumped over the top rope, landing in the ring with a heavy crash as she entered the fray. She threw a quick wave Alicia’s way - didn't want her to think she was forgotten - and then it was right down to business.

”Hey, champ.” Styx stepped back, then launched forward and punted Ace square in the ribs, nailing her with the tip of her boot and stopping her from getting all the way up. ”Getting the deja vu feeling?”

Finally, freedom!

Ace only had a brief couple seconds of glorious freedom, and was quick to roll herself over and try to get the hell away from the enemy corner.

But of course, like everything else over the last couple months, fucking River fucking Styx fuck had to ruin everything for her, getting in the ring fasted than expected and punting Ace in the ribs with her heavy boot, knocking her a good foot across the ring and onto her side, gasping as her rib burned.

"Sonofabitch...too scared to fight fair Styx?"

Ace yelled, gritting her teeth as she once again, for what felt like the sixth time, tried to get back up so she could have her hands up for what no doubt was going to be a painful move Styx had planned.

Kicking the shit out of Silver Ace was immensely satisfying for some reason. Styx couldn’t quite put a finger on the exact reason - she did this sort of thing to people all the time. But something about the noises she made, the anguish on her face, keeping down a former champion and really proving her mettle...it just hit all the right spots.

”Heh. Scared? Nope.” Styx came after Silver Ace and seized her shimmering hair with one hand, roughly yanking her back to her feet and ignoring the referee’s protests. ”Too smart.”

Styx reeled back and let fly with a wild right hook, powerful blow designed to land on Silver Ace’s chin and loosen her teeth. Maybe she’d even get really lucky and knock one out. Small chance, but one could hope.

Ace's attempts to get back to her feet were actually aided, as Styx pulled her up the rest of the way. Still struggling, Ace grabbed at the powerful bald womans hand, trying to force her to let go without much success.

Then came that punch. Holy shit that punch. Having her chin utterly rocked, Ace's head snapped back, only kept in place by the grip Styx had on her silver dyed hair. Somehow she managed to avoid biting her tongue or losing any teeth, thankfully.

Legs shaking, Silver Ace watched through blurry eyes as she watched Styx pull her fist back again. Planting her feet, Ace suddenly shot her leg straight upwards, using her speed and flexibility to straight kick Styx right in the jaw!

Things were going great. Perfect, actually. Styx was doing a good job working on the foundation Abattoir had created, working Silver Ace over and keeping her from Alicia’s side. She’d just landed a massive punch that was guaranteed to rock her world, and now she was about to land another massive punch that was guaranteed to rock her world.

Then something happened.

Styx wasn’t exactly sure what Ace did. She had some clues. It was a strike off some kind, it felt like a kick judging by the way it cracked her against her chin. It hurt like fuck, that was for sure. Nearly made her bite her tongue and left her staggering and wide-eyed. That was all she needed to know about it, really.

Styx staggered back, aching and stunned for a moment, while the crowd started to rally behind Ace and the possibility of turning this around.

Finally.

It was almost embarrassing. Ace had waited quite some time to be able to come back, having had to see one of her close friends get crushed by Styx, and now when she was finally back in the ring, she had been tossed around and barely able to get a hit until now.

Well, just more reason to kick some ass now.

Frustrated, and with her head still partly swimming from that hard fist to her face, Ace took a second, shaking her head and giving her a chance to refocus, before moving in closer to Styx, throwing a few hard punches of her own, though her her admittedly smaller fists and less muscles, they wouldn't be as devastating as River's were.

Grabbing River Styx's arm, Ace tried to whip her into an empty corner, where she could trap her and do some real damage!

Okay, so Ace could kick. Styx knew that, she’d watched enough of Ace’s matches to piece that little factoid together all by herself, but damn. That was one of the meanest boots to the face she’d ever taken, and she’d fought Angel at Summer Splash. Stiff competition to compare it with.

Styx tried to shake off the shock, but couldn’t manage before Ace seized control of the situation and unloaded a volley of rapid-fire punches - not too bad by themselves, but they added up quick, and made sure Styx was stunned enough for the follow up: an Irish Whip.

Styx was the bigger woman between them, but not so much bigger that she couldn't be thrown around with the right amount of oomph. She turned around and hit the turnbuckle with her back, hitting with some decent force, but that hardly meant she was just going to lean against it and wait for Ace to come her way. Only a second after the impact, she summoned her grit, pushed past the pain, and came charging out of the corner, extending her arm and swinging it out as she came rushing back to her opponent.

A lariat. That'd put this shit to bed quick.

After being on a defensive scramble so far, it felt good to be on the offensive and land some hits on Styx, and she planned on landing plenty more!

After whipping Styx into the corner, Ace made some more distance between them before charging in, eyes widening as Styx powered out of the corner and threw her arm at the face painted fighter.

Ducking low, Ace just barely passed under the lariat attempt, Styx's arm swinging over her head, brushing the hair on the back of her head as she passed under. Quickly, Ace dropped into a side roll, stopping her momentum and turning herself over, so when rolled to her feet and got up, she was facing Styx again as the big woman tried to halt her own momentum.

This time, when Ace charged at Styx, she'd go low again, aiming a low dropkick towards the bald womans knee!

Styx’s body was poised and ready to completely wreck Silver Ace with her lariat. While she wasn’t known for having a diverse moveset of wrestling techniques, she could land one of the best lariats in the AFW, always getting some major damage when it hit. A direct hit was guaranteed to put Silver Ace, and she brought her arm around like it was a headsman’s axe, going straight for the neck.

And she missed.

Putting too much force in the blow forced Styx to whip around hard, trying to correct her balance before Ace could capitalize on her stumbling. It was nice try, but it didn’t work.

Silver Ace’s dropkick hit her right on the knee, striking the bone hard. Styx had to bite her teeth down hard to keep a yelp from getting out, but she couldn’t hide the way she staggering back with a little hop, favoring her aching leg. "Goddamn-"

"Language!"


Ace yelled, having scored a direct hit on Styx's shin with that dropkick. While it didn't drop her to a knee like Ace had hoped it would, it still did damage and opened up the chance to do more damage, which made it more than worth it.

Still, Styx had a size and power advantage against her, and staying stationary was just asking for trouble. Still on the ground, Ace kicked her legs up and rolled backwards to her feet, springing outwards from a crouched position to drive her shoulder and head into River Styx's stomach, slowly but surely trying to drive River back into an empty turnbuckle!
