You know I usually keep out of this stuff because I can't stand OOC bellyaching, but even someone as uninvolved with me has noticed the complaining.

I know that I'm not a big player on this board...but I've been lurking and reading here for a long time. I always stay out of things, but I'm actually going to say something this time.

The titles are to FACILITATE STORY, they're not supposed to be your one ticket to salvation and happiness. They donâ€t matter in the long run. You canâ€t make everyone happy, everyone canâ€t have the title. Thereâ€s plenty of other ways to have excellent stories.

Iâ€ve shunned titles forever...someone once even offered to GIVE my Ro character a title. I turned it down. I didnâ€t want to get into the petty whining of the title scene. I would have loved that story, but it wasnâ€t worth getting involved with.

Now Iâ€ve also heard people complaining about favoritism on the board with regards to titles. When I just heard the one side of the story, I believed it. Now…so many of the complaints are just the same tired complaints I got on other forums where I was a mod. I donâ€t know if thereâ€s favoritism, but I do know that no one is perfect. There may be very good reasons why people donâ€t want to RP with you, or donâ€t take you seriously. Part of it might have to do with being a malcontent.

No one likes a malcontent. They get excluded from nice things.
There are a lot of malcontents here.

I know when I ran RPs, people would complain that I excluded them. Often, it was their own doing. The three biggest reasons were that they had some bad habits that they refused to acknowledge, that they were cliquey, or that they were complained for transient reasons. Ironically, their complaints were the reason that they were being excluded, which caused them to complain more.

Iâ€m not saying there is never any title hogging or favoritism on the boards, Iâ€m not saying one side is right and the other is definitively wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if on SOME level there was. Iâ€m just saying that if everyone focused on getting their own houses in order instead of gossiping things would run smother.




And another thing, Lobo's way the fuck right about a 7 to 2 win/loss ratio. You better have a real plot reason why youâ€re somehow unbeatable. You can't have it where you have an arsenal of impossible to beat characters, and then be upset that people don't like it.

FINALLLLY, I don't know many of the mods personally, but I have been a forum mod before on non RP and on RP boards. I've never had a mod here treat me badly, so leave off.

Thanks for that. When I posted this thread it was out of a desire to talk about this shit and not name names, but when I did it I was angry. I think maybe I used sarcasm and all that as a way to keep myself from just pitbulling on it.

On a side note, I assume that all of you were smart enough to be able to tell where I was being sarcastic. Cirno's the only one here who's too fucking stupid to pick up on that.

I'd hate to spoil this adoration by amending what I said, but it's come to my attention that I wasn't clear. Let me phrase something better, as it was my fault.

I'm directing my problems at the entire title scene. the people who whine that newbies shouldnt be near the title, the people who complain that they somehow need the internet RP fiction title to be happy, and the people who hog it and don't do anything with it. Now I'm not going to go back to what I said again except for this one point because I didn't make it clear enough.

I'm not taking a side. I'm saying the fact that there are sides points to an endemic problem, and Lobo hit the nail on the head.

It's become competitive. Sometimes I think people forget our characters are in competition, not the players themselves. On all sides. The titles should pass often (or at least be defended). At the same time, no one should be so afraid of pressure to pass it on that they are afraid to ACCEPT a title.

I WILL NOT say who I think is right or wrong, I WILL say that it shouldn't even be a question.

Titles have become too competitive yes, titles do change hands way too little, yes. There tends to be very few title matches between Avalanche or Summer Splash.

I agree with many points that Bean has said so far. I do not however agree with a few things.

For starters, the whole thing about bitching ? really ? I am gonna be one of the few people on this board that seems to have the balls to be honest. Every single on bitches, about everything, I do. If you wanna bitch, you are entitled to bitch. But if you don't wanna hear someone bitch, how about just tell them no ? If someone fells bad for not getting a title shot, why would you ? It's a fictional made up title. If you wanna bitch about it, go ahead. I you wanna bitch about it to Tat...well it's his choice to say no if someone comes bitching to him. If he doesn't want to hear it all he has to do is say that he doesn't. If that doesn't work, then try something else.

To be fair BM, the entire way you have done this thread from the beginning feels like it was directed at certain people, and as if you were trying to make them feel guilty about voicing their opinion. Now you are entitled to your opinion, you are allowed to think and say what you want. But they way you made this thread feel at least when I read it, was that people should feel guilty for complaining. I don't get why ? I see no problem in complaining and voicing concerns, we do have something called freedom of speech, so you are entitled to do this, but I feel that it might be a bit hypocritical at the very least, since it feels like you are bitching about people who are bitching.

If anyone wants to make a thread about how their characters feel robbed out of a title and make it all in character, well if it's just them bitching about it, but in character...my question there is, who the fuck cares ? Maybe it will build up to some character development ? I dunno, but it certainly is something that you are allowed to do, no matter what BM says.

For the whole title thing again, well I will say this. Never gotten a challenge for the title I have, from what I heard from Zxn he never got one either. And if I remember correctly, and I'm sure Lobo will agree or correct me, he never got a challenge for the title, and had to go search for one. So I can't say that I have ever felt any pressure when it came to titles.

If there is favoritism on this board, I dunno, I can't say for sure since i don't know. Though you can see signs and patterns of it here and there. Which makes it seems suspicious, though without any evidence there is no point in complaining about it.

Yes, lunar, you can run your mouth however you want. In this case, people were going out of their way to hurt someone. Can you explain to me how it's okay to try to hurt someone for no good reason, even if Mouse says it's not?

Most of the stuff you say always seems to be meant to hurt someone, but it's always apparently sarcasm or a joke. So dunno what you got to say about any of this. Is the person who was being hurt here ? Is the person incapable of bringing this up himself ? Were you the one being hurt ? Couldn't you have kept this between the people in question.

And if they were out to hurt someone other than you, then how does this concern you ? Also, going out of their way to hurt someone ? That is not what you have been talking about in this thread up till now. All you have talked about, it people bitching. If it was a serious thing, then how about you try to portray it seriously from the beginning. I see a lot of flaws in the execution of this thread. From what I have seen, you have complained about people who complain to the mods, well guess what, one of the parts of running something, new flash! is to hear complains about how it's run! And people who complain about OOC stuff in character, in threads. Which is also pretty funny coming from you. (Just speaking my opinion on that one.)

All I am really saying here, is that this entire thread, seems pointless. if this " person" was being hurt, how about they bring it out to the people in question, and try to talk things out like adults ? It seems as if this board loves to make everything as public as possible as well, everyone bitches and gossips on the board. Gonna put this as clearly as I can, because every time I seem to post something serious, that goes against Blues "perfect way of thinking," she seems to assume that I am going against her. I am not, I agree with you that one shouldn't try and hurt someone, but I ask you this. Why was this made into a thread, where all you have done is bitch about people bitching about titles ? And bitch about people bitching IC on the board about OOC stuff ? That doesn't bring up anything that you are saying now. Cause those factors are something that clearly everyone is free to do if they so please.

To be honest, I ain't entirely sure what's really going on here but I will just think that it's about people bitching and moaning cause they are not chosen for a title shot or want to win it at all costs and bitched about management for it.

As someone who has turned a title shot and a PPV match down for not being able to get over myself with predetermined matches, I am kind of disapointed that I am excluded from such opportunities because title holders and challengers could not jump their shadows in the past and come to a conclusion in a civilized manner to force the mods to take such a drastic step as to determine a winner in advance cause nothing goes forward if they don't do that. As i can not break the mold myself, I can partly understand the reasons for such behavior if it does not get personal(Guilt tripping) like obviously in this case, but ultimately this will lead us(people excluded from the title scene or PPV for various reasons) nowhere regarding the fun side of title matches.

I don't agree with the entropy belt discussion. Any wrestler with ambition should strive to win the midcard belt at some point in my opinion, despite how his win/loss ratio is. Goldberg with his streak, Chris Jericho as unified champion, Booker T as record Tag Team Champion all had either the US or IC title, and nobody should be too good for it.

Edit: Just wanted to add that I make threads with Ise to come back at management. That's all just RP and from what I remember, at least Tatyina approved it and both mods took part in the first thread of these kind, so I hope nobody took this as an attack in this topic.

@Lunar: Yeah, thats true. A mods job involves taking and hearing people's complaints...But there is a difference between "legit" complaints and "I'm not getting what I want" complaints.

When a person has a legit complained, it can be dealt with. When the complaint is nothing but "Why is this person getting this, I want it. Why is this a main event? I want it, I want, I want, I want." then there is really no point in listening to the person making the complaint because all their doing is basically whining about not being given the treatment they feel they deserve more then anybody else.

@Harrier: While I'm sorry you feel excluded from such events, pretty much the only thing excluding you from them is your own unwillingness to compromise. As for predetermined matches "leading us nowhere regarding the fun side of matches" I've honestly yet to meet anybody else who has that belief. Most of us are having a grand old time with it, and invite you to join us.
