As a first outing for this rebooted account, I'd like to engage some opponent in a matroom, or something equivalent, with a focus on BJJ, Catch Wrestling, MMA, etc. It can range from actual training (preferably of the character I play but I can do yours even if I'd like further teaching for BJJ.) to an extreme match. Grab a Pikachu in Viridian Forest and a Geodude from Mt. Moon and you'll be pretty set for most the game. Grabbing an Abra after Nugget Bridge is a good idea too.
Make sure that before you fight Brock, Charmander knows Metal Claw. You'll want a Mankey from Route 22 (West of Viridian) for that fight as well.

Tired and dumb? You mad bro? Because of the fact that I am right about numerous thing regarding the unoriginality of Gens 4 and 5?
Gen 1 had more original designs then Gens 4 and 5 put together, and we SURE as hell didn't need evolutions to Gen 1 and 2 pokemon.
Do you know there is more then at least 100,000 of just one species of pokemon in just ONE region alone? And they constantly breed so the world is overpopulated

But,Gravler and kadabra are too weak to hold their own.... (I dont have a trade cable.) Raichu is a good pokemon.And Primeape is...okay.I've always wanted to at least try each of the 150.See how good they actually are.

Mankey's only needed to help with Brock, since you started with Charmander.
Graveler and Kadabra are perfectly fine for in-game purposes, since it seems you won't be doing any PVP battles.
You could always swap out them out later for Rhydon and Hypno, if it's really that much of a concern.
