A clown and a wrestler walk into a ring: Dave Blake vs Sandía

“Wow…way bigger than the old warehouses I used to perform in..” A voice said to himself, taking a peak at the arena that he was supposed to debut in. The wrestler seemed to be about 5 feet and 6 inches which seemed to be a little short but not that noticeable. What was most noticeable about the man was his hair and attire to go with it. His hair color was a light shade of red and had a curly and soft texture to it. His attire on the other hand, resembled that of a medieval court jester of some sorts. Regardless of how unorthodox his wrestling attire was, it was clear that he was going to compete in that gear as it was finally time to make his big debut.

Mateo, or better known as his ring name Sandía, made his way to the ring. Grinning and waving to the crowd, all cutesy and mushy-like. Deep down, he despised it. He hated the people in the crowd and most of all, he hated this tacky attire. He specifically told the designer that he wanted something more sleek and more fitting for his high-flying style like a bodysuit but it seemed unfortunately he was going to have to make do.

Mateo’s attire:

Once he was done with his entrance and greeting kissing the asses of the crowd, He slid into the ring, propping up and leaning on the ropes with his shoulders, smiling at the wonderful dreadful crowd. Now walking to a corner and climbing up to the top turnbuckle and sitting on it, cross legged and waiting for his victim opponent.

Well....everything just found a way to turn for the worst....as usual. Here he thought things would be different. Come back, win the title he was never beaten for, and continue on his resurgence....

And then....it was gone. Taken in a title merger and making his elaborate plan fall to pieces, along with his standing and his confidence. He barely got the chance to get booked on shows anymore, as if things couldn't possibly get any worse. But all that was going to change. He finally managed to corner a booker to get him a match, even if it was against a newcomer. His music blared on the speakers and it was more than a bit heartbreaking to walk out without any gold around his waist. Nonetheless, he rolled into the ring, sizing up the oddly dressed gentleman.

Extending a hand out, Dave gave a small half smile, "Welcome...nice to see new guys here...names Dave."

Mateo seemed to observe his opponent while he made his way to the stage, he seemed be a bit taller than him in size, his light green eyes watched the former champ make his way to the ring. While Sandía seemed non-threatening to say the least, a slight gleam in his eyes as he watched Dave enter the ring seemed to tell otherwise. He jumped off the turnbuckle to get a better look at his fellow challenger. Staring at his hand and back at him blankly for quite a bit. His blank expression was a little unnerving without any exaggeration. He then smiled at the opponent, taking his hand and shaking it profusely as he spoke hurriedly


“Omigoshitssonicetomeetyoumyname’sMateobutyoucancallmeSandía-

He was quick to stop himself, rubbing the back of his head when he realized that he was getting ahead of himself and shaking Dave's hand for quite a while. He flashed his opponent a quick smile before moving back to his own ring post.

Dave was most certainly taken aback by Matteo's more than enthusiastic greeting, eyes widening a bit as the young man enthusiastically shook his hand, not even giving him a moment to speak.

"I...uh....thank you?" he intoned, a bit confused but not exactly pulling away from the strangely dressed young man till the handshake was released. He cleared his throat, giving him a plesant wave back. Despite his less than enthusiastic entrance, he could at least get an entertaining match out of this newcomer? He seemed to at least have a taste for the flashier elements of the business with his getup, he thought, as he made his way to his own corner for the bell to ring

Mateo didn't seem too broken up about his botched meeting despite the creeping feeling of embarrassment that was quickly washing off of him. The clown studied his opponent once more before the match started. He was interested in finding out what he could do and how badly he could hurt him in this matchup tonight.

DING! DING! DING!

And finally the match slaughter was underway. Mateo seemed to be invigorated with energy, bouncing on the balls of his feet, approaching the former champ, arms outstretched, looking to initiate a lockup, not really a test of strength but more who is the more agile of the two. Smiling kindly at Dave but the smile felt half-assed.

Dave cracked his neck at the bell, lightly hopping from one foot to the other as he closed in. He knew lockups tended to end badly for him, so he only edged in close enough to be juuuust out of Mateo's reach. He'd take a swipe, darting in to see if he could latch on to his opponent's wrist, but he barely missed it.

All the while he kept moving, resulting in the pair circling one another for a good 20 seconds in the center of the ring

Mateo seemed to station himself in the middle of the ring, watching amusedly as Dave circled him. Juust barley moving out of the way for the swipe. He seemed to be enjoying Dave's weariness to the situation. Well to be fair, he seemed to be enjoying every part of this.

Though good things don't last forever as Sandia soon grew tired of the circling of the former 24/7 champ, opting for good waist kick to fallen angel, aiming to bring him down with waist lock takedown. Despite his lanky appearance, Mateo was good at surprising opponents with his technical prowess in the ring. Once he had Dave down, he would try to work him over, wrenching the headlock tight, weaving his fingers within each other.
