A FIRST TIME MEETING: KEVIN DEREK VS. RAFAEL VEGA

Kevin's chop lands solid on Rafael and leaves a dent with him going back against the ropes.  Not responding to his opponent's taunt with words, but he does respond with a second hard chop.  Landing this one strategically right across his opponent's heart hoping to make it skip a beat, but forced to use his tender arm to execute it.

"ARGHH"

Kevin grunts out in response to the soreness in his arm as well as the impact to his leg from Rafael's quick low kick.  Backing away step to open up enough distance to fire out a snap kick aimed at the tanned left thigh that had him pinned down minutes ago.

Kevin's answer to his comment is a second hard chop that lands across his right chest above the heart, "!!" giving his insides an uncomfortable fluttering sensation that slows him down. He clutches at the area with gritted teeth as he rises back up to his full standing height but still seems caught off by that peculiar strike.

Rafa raises arms and starts to circle away from the ropes when Kevin fires off his next kick. He jerks himself to the side trying to dodge but the kick grazes the side of his thigh, making him stumble and choose to drop to one knee rather than lose balance completely. With one hand on the mat he shoves up again and tries to continue circling so that his back is to open air and not trapped against the ropes.

Kevin stays on his opponent as they start to circle out toward the open center of the ring.  His eyes locked on the body in front of him as he shoots in low getting his arms around that left thigh and standing back up full with the shin now against his abs.

"ON YOUR BACK PUNK!"

Kevin yells out a half wish and half command as he attempts to sweep Rafael's supporting right leg out from under him.

While Rafael is climbing to his feet, Kevin darts in front of him to cut off his escape routes. He swings out a chop of his own, bouncing his arm off the side of Kevin's arm as the blond grabs onto Rafael's leg. Shit, not good! He hops around on his remaining leg trying to find good enough balance that he can jump off and kick in the same motion, but it's gotta be just right or he hurts himself.

Kevin shouts and sweeps his remaining leg as Rafael tries to kick, ending up smashing his foot into the bony part of Kevin's shin and leaving his foot aching. Not to mention the parts of his back and elbows that now ache from his messy landing. Once the intiial shock dies off, he can start kicking that captured leg to try and free it.

Kevin takes the shots to his arm and shin as Rafael flails around but does go down to his back.

"Finally man ... dang"

Gasping out from the pace of the match and his display of furry after losing round 1, Kevin's intent on capitalizing on the leg grip and sends 1...2 sharp toe kicks deep into the back of Rafael's left thigh to settle his kicking around down some.

Despite his best efforts to wage a defensive war, Kevin was steaming right ahead like a man on a mission. "What got into you? Roid rage?" he taunts trying to distract Kevin from the onslaught he was raining down. He targets Rafael's leg and digs two hard shots into the back of his thigh, making the brazilian shout out in pain as he writhes around on his back.

Growing more frustrated, more desperate, Rafael kicks out with his freed leg at Kevin's waist trying to break himself free.

Kevin trying to stay laser focused right now as he is intent on taking fall 2 and as fast as possible.  Needing to knock Rafael down a few pegs for his own good.

"No man, you just woke me up..."

Getting ready to step in a start to twist the trapped leg into setup position for one of his trademark moves when Kevin's waist gets a sharp kick from his opponent's free leg.

"UNNNNGHHH ... ok then"

Tightening up his grip on the leg and then falling backwards to the mat keeping the keg against his body.  Kevin's legs coming up and seeking to lock around Rafael's thigh for a little payback.

Rafael's defensive kick feels like it nearly works for him and he pushes up on his elbows as he pulls his leg in with all his might. But Kevin's grip is just too tight and he retains control while falling backwards to the mat. He jerks upright at the pained sensation of his leg being hyperextended, but then comes even more trouble as Kevin's legs loop up and start to lock around his thigh.

"Ahh, ahh, no you don't!" he pants as he crunches up and grabs for Kevin's left ankle, trying to prevent at least one of those legs from locking in.

Not Kevin’s normal game here as he has Rafael’s leg nearly trapped, but he is struggling with how to capitalize on it for a moment trying to fully lock in.

“What …. Are you gonna stop me?”

Taking a second to think while they exchange small talk on the canvas.  Kevin’s ankles unable to lock with the hands of his opponent in the way so he raises both legs up out of range, locks ankles then plows his heels down hard into Rafael’s abs to send a jolt of scissor pressure through his trapped thigh.

“Tell me if this is right, Mr. Judo?”

Taunting his opponent as he leans up enough to cinch the Brazilian’s ankle under his arm pit and then start to lean back and twist.

"Filha da puta!" Rafael curses in his native tongue as Kevin's foot comes slamming down in the middle of his abs. The pain sends him down onto his back again as the wave rolls through him, and once it has passed, he sits back up to find Kevin has completed his little lock.

He flips Kevin off as he's sarcastically asked if the application of the hold was correct. Rafael shouts out as his ankle is pinched and twisted round in Kevin's pit. He flops up and down banging his fist on the mat, but stubbornly refusing to tap. He crunches back up and reaches for Kevin's ankles, tearing his fingers like little hooks and trying to bring them apart.
