The Crimson Legacy
Tag Team Name: The Crimson Legacy
Alternative Tag Names: Kyo and Makie, the Akamatsu Siblings
Names: Kyo and Makie Akamatsu
Age: 27 (Kyo)| 21(Makie)
Wrestling Information
Strategy: The two have been described as a "hammer and anvil" when it comes to wrestlling. Makie, being the lighter of the two, makes more use of high-flying manouvers and devastating strikes, and works best while on the offensive. Kyo, meanwhile, is much better at fighting defensively, knowing a laundry list of counters and being able to adapt quickly to the opponent's strategy. Further more, while Makie is more of a high-flyer, Kyo is more grounded, and will lock in devastating submission holds to wear their opponents down more and more as the match goes on. That being said, both of them are very versatile wrestlers, able to switch things up if need be and work together in a highly coordinated manner.
Type: Tandem Offense
Preferred Matches:
Both:Tag Team Matches, Tornado Tag Matches, Handicap
Background:
Background
- Kyo and Makie came from a family that was rooted in two things: combat, and tradition. Thier father was the notorious Keichi "King Crimson" Akamatsu, a pro wrestler who earned no small amount of fame way back in his day. Their mother, Junko, was a talented Kendo champion, nicknamed "the Red Pine Blade" for her choice of kendo stick, who had numerous medals to her name, and who was renowned for her seemingly unbreakable defence when parrying. Along with their elder brother Toshio, Kyo and Makie grew up from an early age being trained to fight, as well as having to live in the rigours of a household that emphasized traditional Japanese values and customs-- a rigidity that Makie always secretly chafed at, though Kyo embraced it a little more fully.
Things changed quickly and tragically, however. When the children were still young, their father broke his neck in a ring accident, and died almost immediately. Ten years later, the siblings' mother also passed after a long battle with cancer. From that point on, the siblings were left on their own, and forced to live with and look after one another.
After their brother Toshio departed to the United States to attend university, Kyo and Makie were left living under the same roof, with Kyo taking it upon himself to protect his younger sister (much to their chagrin). Both siblings, however, still shared the passion for fighting sports that they had inherited from their parents, especially pro wrestling. It was unsurprising, then, that Kyo eventually decided to join a prostyle league. After Kyo began to climb the ranks, Makie got sick of cheering him from the sidelines, and decided to train up to become a wrestler herself.
After his original league disbanded, however, Kyo was forced to join the one league that still had spots open: the AFW. He was surprised, however, when Makie joined the league soon after him. The two of them quickly formed a tag team together, though each of them ended up fighting in plenty of singles matches as well, with Makie also began to fight in singles matches on her own, quickly getting a reputation as a fast and hard-hitting fighter with a stubborn streak a mile wide.
