New Challenger, New Challenge

There was definitely something there that stuck, it was a small change in expression, only really noticeable due to how close Adrian was to Alacia right now, but something the former cosplayer said got under the kickboxer's skin, if only a little bit. "Well if you're up for a challenge we could make it a ladder match. So when you end up looking up at the lights you get to watch me win instead of having to ask the ref 'what happened?' at the end of it." Adrian joked, from what she'd gathered from Alicia's match history and the little bit of background she'd gotten about her, a ladder match was probably as far away from a match the redhead would want as she could get.

"But I think we can do better than that. You've done some MMA stuff? Ever fight in a cage?" she asked, raising an eyebrow in suggestion. Adrian had the idea for the match before she ever found out it was Alicia she would be fighting.

The big redhead couldn’t help but laugh at that question, having ignored the ladder part as yet more trash talk. And she really, really would rather not bother with it because she could boast and Adrian could boast and they’d both waste their time and she’d frankly had enough trolling the champ already.

Alicia had done some MMA stuff. Oh yes, she’d done some MMA stuff. Although most of her matches had been local ones, not the sort that actually happened in a cage, she’d still had a couple of turns in one while she was at uni. Enough that she didn’t have any problems fighting inside one at all. She’d got some ideas of how she could use it to her advantage and how Adrian would try to do the same.

”Yes to both,” She agreed with a curious nod. ”And I’ve got to admit I’m intrigued. You’ve definitely got something in mind.”

Alicia paused, blew a rueful chuckle out. ”Also, can I ask a favour? Clearly you think I’m a sadistic bitch, fine. But I’m not looking to cripple you and I really don’t want to end up permanently crippled either. So can we please skip the staple guns? I get this is a hardcore match but…”

She let that trail off but yeah. In her mind, there was a wide, wide line between ‘hardcore’ and ‘incredibly stupid’ and staple guns and anything else like that seriously crossed the line. She could deal with kendo sticks and tables and ladders and the like. But in her mind, anyone coming at her with a staple gun wasn’t a competitor, they were seriously trying to hurt her and she was going to defend herself.

Given the givens, it was best they just stuck to the sane side of the weaponry field. And maybe she was being harsh but given the one match she’d been in, well, she didn’t think anyone would blame her.

Adrian's smile grew slightly wider as the two seemed to move beyond the initial hostility (mostly Adrian's hostility) and got down to business, she didn't doubt Alicia's experience in octagons or whatever the British used as their fighting arena when they weren't using 4 sided rings, maybe something the shape of a 50p coin. "Well wrestling's had it's own version of the MMA cage thing, we call it the Lion's Den. Never really got used outside of the late 90s buuut, we can bring it back for one night." The champion explained "And don't worry, I don't go for the staple guns either, too little flexibility in what you can do with them." she reassured the big Brit.

”Sounds Biblical,” Alicia mused, as much to herself as to Adrian. ”What’s involved? I’m guessing there aren’t any actual lions involved.”

And that would be less because the promoters were worried about the wrestlers and more because they’d be worried about the lions, naturally. Oh well. Still, that sounded intriguing, between the bit about the cage and the bit about it being inspired by the MMA cages – however many sides it was going to have.

Alicia also couldn’t help the slight sigh of relief at the agreement that staple guns were out. Flexible or not, there was no way she wanted any part of a match with those things in them. Accidents happened in fights, there was no way around it. But that didn’t mean she needed to be tempting fate, not when there were sure to be plenty of other dangerous toys all over the place as well. The fans would just have to live with the disappointment.

”Thank you,” the gratitude in her voice was thoroughly genuine. ”Those things just seem to be asking for someone to lose an eye.”

It was good the taunting was over though.

”But don’t worry,” Alicia went on, ”Win or lose, I’m going to make you work for it.”

"Hmmph." Adrian huffed at Alicia's pledge to give the champ a rough time. She didn't doubt that this was going to be a tough match, she just didn't need the red-head pointing it out. "You'll see what it's like when you get to Alaska, just make sure you're ready for it... and get some outdoor training done, Summer Splash doesn't tend to be held indoors." the brunette said, offering one last warning/piece of advise before turning and leaving. That had well... mission accomplished? She now had a match formally set up for the big event but any attempts to unnerve the big Brit had failed. Maybe it was time to get a staple gun in there... nah, even by the normally petty Adrian standards that was a bit much.
