Etzlicoatl vs Belinda Northman

In theory, getting 2012 locked in would mean, if not victory, then at least a great deal of leeway towards that end.  In practice, actually managing to lock it in was...problematic.  At best.

Belinda had managed to get an arm up and was forcing the attempted dragon sleeper away from her, ruining the stretch plum altogether!  Etzli growled under her breath, reached around, and tried to forcibly pull that arm into position using her other arm.  It looked altogether ridiculous and, well, it was.  Especially since the elbows to her now-exposed ribs came a second later.

"Ow!" Etzli yelped, thrashing.  "Ow ow ow!!!"  The attempted hold loosened to the point of uselessness, and the luchadora slumped against her Swedish adversary's shoulder, trying to catch her breath.

It was a bit of a struggle and it looked very awkward as the two of them struggled all they could to gain the advantage...Belinda fighting to try and get out and Etzlicoatl fighting to try and lock in her deadly move onto the blond cutie.

After a bit of struggle though Belinda started to win over this exchange as soon after a few elbows Etzli's chin pressed against her shoulder and she slumped against the blond. Belinda tried to quickly move her hands up towards Etzli's head to grab a hold of it, attempting to keep Etzli there for a short time as Belind attempted to move up onto her feet...she'd take a deep breath before trying to flip Etzli over her shoulder by attempting to hit Etzli with a standard snapmare!

The two struggled together momentarily, but it was a foregone conclusion - Belinda was stronger, and Etzli'd just had the wind knocked out of her. The blonde had a hold on the back of her head and, before she knew it, she was flipping over into a snapmare.

If she'd had more presence of mind, the Sanguine Serpent would've simply rolled with it, using her lucha skills to avoid danger. As it was, though, she was mostly focused on the pain in her ribs, and by the time it had even occurred to her to do something acrobatic, she'd landed on her butt with a loud thump. A yelp of pain escaped her as she bounced off the mat. There'd been a surprising amount of force behind that, considering it was just a snapmare.

Lifting herself and Etzli up as she rose to a stand it wasn't long before Belinda managed to throw Etzlicoatl forward and smack her down with that snapmare...using her strength advantage to put a lot of power behind that snapmare! Which seemed to prove a good thing, a yelp escaping Etzli's lips as it seemed it caused some pain.

Belinda would look down at Etzli's frame for a second, before she'd try and reach down to attempt and pull her opponent up to her feet. Knowing that Etzli was a pretty damn tough opponent from what she had gone through with her so far, the blond would quickly attempt and slip her arms around Etzli's waist, attempting to brace her feet against the mat before lifting her opponent up into the air and attempting to throw them backwards! Trying to go for yet another German suplex!

Etzli had expected a kick to the back - it wasn't what she would do in this case, but it was pretty standard procedure - and so she had planted both hands on the mat and was preparing to spring out of the way when a waistlock closed around her. Belinda's powerful arms were deadlifting her right off the mat for a German suplex! The crowd 'oooooh'ed at her obvious strength.

It wasn't what she was expecting, but glory of glories, it was what she could handle. Etzlicoatl had been through a million lucha spots involving flipping out of a suplex, long before she'd come to the AFW, and it was basically second nature to keep rotating. She landed perfectly on her feet, like a gymnast striking a Y-pose, and shoulder-charged forward at the recovering Swede, trying to force her into the corner. It wasn't exactly the best tactical move, given the size disadvantage...but perhaps if the element of surprise favored her, she could get them into the corner and set up for her Most Powerful Attack!

Belinda's attempt at a german suplex once again ended up as a rather failed attempt! She pulled up Etzli but as she did the blond cutie felt how Etzli flipped around and up onto her feet. It was a rather difficult task but Etzli seemed more than capable to pull it off without any problem.

What came next was Belinda attempting to pull herself up to her feet and before she managed to turn around she felt how Etzli pushed against her back, charging right into her back and forcing the blond cutie forward right into the corner which she was smooched against with her front first. "Ugh!" the blond cried out a groan as her arms folded over the top ropes, facing towards the crowd.

With a less-than-intimidating battle cry, Etzlicoatl had driven her adversary into the corner!  She wasted no time turning Belinda around and gripping the other girl around the waist, trying to hoist her up onto the top rope.  This was...a bit of an uphill fight, given the size disparity, but she was giving it all she had.

"Cease your resistance, you!" she shouted in exasperation, trying to brace her shoulder against Belinda's waist to get her further up onto the turnbuckle.  "All you've done is fall...hrrrrghhhh....into the snare that is...gyah....the setup for my most powerful attack!  Ha ha!  Yes...ow, my back."

Belinda groaned out as she heard and felt Etzli fight against her, struggling to try and get the slightly larger built girl up the corner and perhaps do something very dangerous. Belinda's arms gripped at the ropes and she struggled to stay fixed against the corner, waiting and trying to find a way to fight out of this...

She thought she found one soon enough! As Etzli was trying to set her up, the blond would attempt to fire back her elbow right into Etzli's head, attempting to stun her and perhaps cause her to back off a bit. If she could do so then the young blond would quickly try and slip out from between the ropes and try and shift their positions, so she could push Etzli front first into the corner.

" Ha...the hero's comeback is now!" Belinda let out as she would attempt to send a hard forearm strike onto the upper back of Etzli attempting to soften her up enough so she could perhaps set up a finisher of her own.

Okay. Etzli needed a new finisher. Never, in history, had she successfully managed to not only get through the complex setup for the Descent of the Hummingbird but also land the move and get the pin. As she heaved upward, trying to get Belinda up and over the third turnbuckle, she resolved to herself that this would be the first and last time she used the move.

It turned out to not even be the first, as an elbow to the head took her off balance and, a second later, caused her to lose her footing altogether and slip with Belinda crashing down onto her. The already-dazed luchadora was wide open as her opponent quickly slipped around and landed a forearm shot between her shoulders, causing her to slump against the turnbuckle in an uncomfortable daze.

She didn't even have a retort at the moment - all the strain of trying to get Belinda up to the top had left her thoroughly blown up and heaving for breath. Not a good position to be in, all in all.

Slipping out and getting in behind Etzli the young blond was able to smack the girl's upperback hard and drive her foe right up into the corner. This was good...but she herself was also quite tired after the struggle against her foe...however, Belinda knew she needed to keep going, if she couldn't then she might actually lose this match...something she didn't want to do very much.

The young blond attempted to wrap her arms around Etzli's waist and with her might she'd attempt to try and lift her opponent up onto the top ropes, attempting to seat the girl up onto the top turnbuckle. If she could do so she'd attempt to pull her right arm back and chop hard against Etzli's back and attempt to keep her on the defensive...setting up something big herself!
