Carmen Rodriguez vs. Mad Max - Welcome Back, Max - Page 3 Empty Re: Carmen Rodriguez vs. Mad Max - Welcome Back, Max

Carmen groaned and gritted her teeth as Max sank his fingers deep into her hair and held on tight, and for the second time in as many weeks she considered the possibility of going bald and just cutting this sort of crap out altogether. A buzzcut, at least.

"Yes, I-" She was about to answer his rather obvious question - she was a boxer, of course she liked it - before she was interrupted by his head smacking her right in the face, filling her vision with stars. Max had one thick skull, and she felt the blow all the way down to the mat. She hit the floor and laid there, staring up at the ceiling as she blinked a few times, stunned.

"What the hell, ref!" Army slammed his fist into the mat from ringside, pointing Max's way. "Headbutts are illegal!"

"No, they're not! This isn't boxing, you moron!"

Army opened his mouth, then shut it right up, looking frazzled. Old habits died hard.

Max's hands grasped at his skull. Sure he was the one dishing out the damage, but physics didn't know that. A large red mark was formed on his forehead, matching the others that had been caused by Carmen. Thankfully he was used to this sort of punishment, though the ring was getting a little dizzy.

He shook his head side to side before looking down at his stunned opponent. Now was the time to strike. One hand holding his head and the other grabbing Carmen's skull from the top, Max rose to his feet while pulling Carmen up as well. The silver-haired warrior would pause as he needed his bearings again before he tried to force Carmen to bend over so that her head was between his legs. He was setting up for a powerbomb, but he paused again to grab his head with both hands. The arena was spinning and he couldn't do anything to stop it.

A pair of balls on the back of her neck. Carmen had been hoping to avoid that for as long as she could, but she supposed it was inevitable.

She clenched her teeth and braced herself, expecting to be powerbombed any second...but it never happened. She couldn't see what Max was doing from this vantage point, but if she had to guess, he was taunting, rallying the crowd a bit before he drilled her into the ground.

His mistake. Carmen was hurting, but she still had more than enough left in her tank to make him pay for giving her a moment to recoup.

Carmen planted her feet down hard, grabbed his legs for a little extra heft, and straightened up underneath Max, looking to toss him over her shoulders and dump him right on his head behind her. Not the most graceful or pretty of moves, but then, she wasn't the most graceful or pretty of fighters. It fit.

Spinning, spinning. the whole world seemed to be spinning beneath his feet while he stood still. "Make it stop..." he moaned out with a hint of anguish in his voice. Maxwell couldn't remember what he was doing. His head was killing him and only growing worse with the passing seconds.

Then, the earth started moving beneath his feet. No..that wasn't the earth. His eyes traveled downward. Shit! That was right! He was in a match! He had his opponent right where he wanted her, but it was too late now! Her feet planted and his legs grasped, Carmen reversed her fortunes as she heaved Maxwell over her head and dropped him flat on his back! His head thudded against the mat as pain coursed through his body. He was still very conscious, but there was no way for him to be able to lift any part of his body. Was this it for the Silver Warrior?

And down Max went. The ring rumbled like thunder.

The crowd let out a collective roar as she slammed Max, and she had to admit, she could see where their energy was coming from. As much as she was a striker at heart, even she had to admit there was something satisfying and powerful about throwing her opponent around like this, the kind of punch and impact that made her revel in the momentum and gave her an adrenaline rush. Sucked for Max, though.

Not wanting to waste too much time, she moved right on to the next attack and decided to get her arms back into the action. Without even turning around, she lifted up her arm and tried to come down on him with an elbow drop, falling with her full weight behind it."It stops when I get the pinfall, lunático."
by mnpinner on Tue Sep 23, 2014 10:26 pm
The roars of the crowd rang with the echoes of the thud against the mat. He could hear his heart beating as he dared not open his eyes. Maxwell couldn't lift a single body part. His only opportunity to secure victory seemed to have slipped from his fingers just as soon as he had it within his grasp.

The only part of Maxwell's body that he seemed to be able to move were his eyelids. Here goes nothing... he thought as his lids parted. "Shit!" was all that escaped his lips as he seemed to watch Carmen's assault develop in slow motion. His muscles clenched as he tried to move them, but there was no response. "Oooooooof!!!!" was all that followed as Maxwell felt the air pushed from his lungs. Suddenly his arms found life as they wrapped around his abdomen in pain. He coughed and gasped as his lungs searched for some semblance of life-affirming oxygen while he rolled to his side as if he could get away.

SNAFU aside, this match was going pretty well for Carmen so far. Almost ridiculously well. Almost suspiciously well. Maybe the ring rust had really worn Max down - Carmen knew boxers that tried to step into the ring after taking a year or two off, they always had a little trouble getting in the groove. Sometimes they never found it.

On the other hand, Carmen knew wrestling well enough to know things could change in a heartbeat. Unlike boxing, all it would take was a few careless moments, and the entire flow could change. So wrapping this up before that could happen would be to her advantage. Definitely.

She felt a little daring now, so she decided to go for something different: a submission. Not a complex one, of course, but a submission all the same. Max tried to roll away, she made her way to his legs and sat down on his back to pin him down, the reach over and tried to pull his ankles under her armpits. A boston crab, one of the wrestling classics, so simple a boxer could do it.
by mnpinner on Wed Sep 24, 2014 7:41 am
How had it gone so wrong so quickly for Max? He started the match out more focused than ever. However, it seemed that that's where it all went south. He was playing by the rules this entire match, never taking his usual tactics into consideration. HIs dazed eyes looked to the announce table where his silver hammer had been placed by the officials. If only he could hold her, then maybe he would get his second...err..third wind.

His body aching, Maxwell started to crawl towards the edge, but he didn't get more than a couple inches before a weight hit his back. "Ahh!" he groaned as his legs were lifted up. He knew what was happening: a Boston Crab. The Silver Warrior felt as his back was stretched while Carmen applied pressure and leverage to the hold. "Ahhh!! Fuuuuuuck!" he groaned loudly. The pain coursed through his back as his hands grabbed at his head. The pain was so powerful; how could he ever get out of this? The wounded wrestler's answer laid with his own desires as he saw the ropes not but 2-3 feet away. It was a long crawl, but maybe he could endure it. The former goer of underground MMA was sore all over, but that never stopped him before. Maxwell clenched his fists as he started to try to army crawl his way towards the ropes. The only thing that stood in his way, stood over top of him.
by acuya on Wed Sep 24, 2014 12:25 pm
As Carmen poured the pressure onto Max, she tried to remember if this was her first time using a submission hold. She was pretty sure it wasn't, maybe she'd done a bearhug or a chokehold or something before. Nothing serious, just basic stuff. This wasn't exactly a jujitsu move, either, but it was a painful hold, and it was on the ground. She was damn sure she'd never tried anything quite like it before.

Also, Carmen marveled that she'd been in enough matches that she had to take time to remember stuff like that. Time had flown.

Back in the real world, Max was well on his way to the ropes, and he didn't have far to go. She tried to shuffle forward and draw it out, but he was too strong for it, too wiry, too fast - he got a hold on them and she immediately broke the hold, letting his legs flop out before her.

Not missing a beat, Carmen stood up and moved over to him, grabbing his hair one hand and his arm with the other, then roughly hauled Max to his feet, trying to get him up and send him off to the ropes on the far side of the ring with an Irish Whip.

by mnpinner on Thu Sep 25, 2014 7:32 am
Maxwell had been in painful holds before. Plenty of them much more complicate than the one he was in, but that didn't negate how much pain his back was in. He could see that he only needed a few more inches to reach the ropes. Was it really going to be this easy? Max couldn't tell that Carmen had been reminiscing the entire time that the hold was locked in.

"1....2...." the ref girl began to count for Carmen to break the hold as Max had grabbed the bottom rope.

As the hold was released, Max breathed a sigh of relief while he grabbed his back, but the relief wouldn't last long. He was violently dragged to his feet and thrown to the ropes as he bounced off. This may be the only chance he had to "bounce back". Now was the time to capitalize! He looked weak heading to the ropes, but the return trip saw his arm stretched out strong to try and hit Carmen with a brutal surprise clothesline!
by acuya on Thu Sep 25, 2014 11:20 am
What to follow up with, what to follow up with? Carmen really just wanted to floor Max with a punch on the return trip, but that would probably get the ref on her again, and she'd already had more than enough of that in one match. A clothesline? That was close enough to her comfort zone.

She started to rush towards him and extend her arm, but it seemed like Max had pretty much the same idea, and his arm took precedence. She'd barely managed to get hers up all the way before he clocked her right in the chest and drove her down, flat on her ass.

The crowd winced as Carmen got laid out, taking her nastiest hit of the match, and there were more than a few cheers, too - it seemed like things were getting interesting all of the sudden. Carmen was a little too preoccupied with trying to pick herself up off the floor to give it much thought, though.
by mnpinner on Thu Sep 25, 2014 8:15 pm
For the first time in while this match, Maxwell didn't feel the ground spinning beneath him. Instead, he felt it moving away from his feet as he rushed forward. His arm stretched outwards as he closed in on the Latina boxer.

His eyes watched as she prepared to do the same. All that Max could do to prepare was to expect the worst case scenario. As his arm collided with her chest hard, he merely felt the rising arm graze his lower abdomen as he spun around and hit the ropes before falling forward from the ricochet off the ropes. He caught himself on the mat as he breathed in deep. His eyes looked up to see Carmen rousing up. Maxwell needed more time...

The ring started to spin again, but Max shook it off. Then the idea hit him. The silver-haired wrestler quickly rolled out of the ring and stood on the ground outside as his one hand rested on the ring. His head turned to a familiar sight from earlier in his glimmering love. He paid no heed to the ref as the count began: "One.................Two............" He just kept walking until he had his silver hammer in his hand. Quick glares were sent to the announce team and the officials outside the ring daring them to take it away from him. Maxwell then turned to look to the ring to see where Carmen was in her recovery as he grabbed his own back. That girl had done a number on him......it got his blood pumping!

by acuya on Fri Sep 26, 2014 1:22 am
Army had been watching from ringside the entire time, even though he really hadn't had much to say since the referee stopped Carmen from throwing blows. Really, he just didn't have much to contribute. Carmen didn't need his cheerleading, not in the least. She'd been royally stomping Max from minute one. Yelling at her wouldn't do anything more than be a distraction.

But he wasn't oblivious, so when he saw Max going for a hammer, he had something to say about it. "Hey, asshole." He rounded the corner and stared his way. "Drop it." He wasn't the best brother, he could admit that, but no way was he standing around while some nutcase with bad hair wailed on his sister with a hammer.

Carmen, in the meantime, had started to sit up and get the grogginess out, looking around with a raised eyebrow as she tried to figure out where her opponent had suddenly just went off to. She'd been down. Vulnerable. So where the hell had he gone to? Why wasn't he drilling her into the mat."
by mnpinner on Fri Sep 26, 2014 7:02 am
The man with silver hair just stood staring at ring with wide eyes as he pet the head of his hammer as if it were a precious little puppy. Then his trance was slightly broken. His head turned as Army called him out, a grin on his face.

"I'd like to see you come over here and make me." Maxwell spoke calmly as he turned his entire body to face the brother of his opponent. He had no way of knowing who this guy was or what he was capable of, but his eyes told him that the dude was at least as physically fit as his sister, which wouldn't be good news for Max based on the beating he'd taken thus far.

"..........3...........4............5..." Maxwell didn't make a move. He just stood there staring down the man that dared to defy him.
by acuya on Fri Sep 26, 2014 10:43 am
It took a few moments, but Carmen finally figured out where Max had run off to. He was on the outside of the ring. With her brother. "You're shitting me."

Carmen stood up and made her way to the ropes, cutting Army off as he started to get near Max. She shoke her head and spoke to him in their native Spanish, so Max wouldn't pick it up.<"Hey, genius, what are you doing? Stop messing with my match.">

Army stopped and jerked back her, then quickly pointed back at Max. <"Hey, don't look at me, I'm just doing the good brother thing. Fucker's got a hammer, look at him.">

She looked back at Max and, sure enough, he did, indeed, have a hammer. Somehow she doubted he was in a carpentry mood."Excuse me?"
by mnpinner on Fri Sep 26, 2014 10:18 pm
Maxwell just stared down with Armando as he held his hammer. Maxwell had gone to his happy place. He had reunited with the extension of his arm. Max was ready to act on instinct alone, but his movement was interrupted by the sight of his actual opponent.

Carmen's decision to go out of the ring peeved the ref to no end because it just reset the count. "One......"

The silver-haired warrior clutched his precious hammer with both hands as he heard the two siblings converse in spanish. He knew a few words from some of the Mexican leagues he had been a part of, but nothing that gave him any idea what they were talking about.

As Carmen turned around to look at Max upon instruction from her brother, Max just smiled and tightened his grip as she eyed him and his precious partner. "You'll be excused very soon..." he said hauntingly as he took a step forward.
by acuya on Sat Sep 27, 2014 1:52 pm
Max stepped forward. Carmen stepped back.

She wasn't even sure what he hoped to accomplish, here. The ref couldn't not notice his hammer.Even if she didn't, even if it was a big, silver hammer that you could see for miles. she had Army. He wasn't going to let that shit fly, and she wouldn't if the spots were switched. Nothing good could come from this.

But, then again, it seemed like he wasn't all that right in the head. Maybe none of this even registered to him. Whatever the case, Carmen had to do something about this, and she wasn't about to let the match end with a countout. She decided to just thrown caution to the wind and went for a charge, ducking down at the last moment and thrown an uppercut into his breadbasket.
by mnpinner on Sat Sep 27, 2014 11:28 pm
Maxwell was in his own little world right now. It was a place where he was happy, where the violence and mayhem gave him a thrill that nothing else could. His hammer was what always made that journey special. It was something he couldn't have when he was in those underground MMA fights. Here though, he didn't have to be separated from her for very long.

As his step forward elicited a cautious step backwards, Maxwell grinned. However, his grin would soon find its way into a serious as he watched Carmen charge him. this is exactly what he wanted, but it wasn't what Carmen would be expecting. Maxwell was in a zone of focus for the first time this match. He would sidestep Carmen as she ran past and would instead charge her brother with his hammer's broad head aimed right at his own. The guy's presence had annoyed Maxwell all match long and the last bit of getting in his way had finally gotten to Max's nerves.
by acuya on Sun Sep 28, 2014 12:05 am
Army never saw it coming.

He'd been so focused on what Carmen was doing that he'd entirely neglected the possibility that this nutball might attack him. When he sidestepped Carmen's attack, Army expected Max to make a run at her from behind, and he moved in to take hold of the guy before he had a chance. For his efforts, he got a hammer in the face.

Army let out a hoarse cry as he fell back and toppled on his back, rolling around as pain shot through his head. He was a tough guy, one of the hardest, but even he couldn't just roll off a blow like that, and he groaned and moaned as the pain shot through his skull.

Carmen had more things to say about that. "Puta!"

She let out a roar of rage and leaped at Max from behind, trying to wrap her arms around his neck in a chokehold.
by mnpinner on Sun Sep 28, 2014 12:23 am
It was such a satisfying strike. Maxwell just watched as his handy work sent the Puerto Rican tumbling to the ground in pain. He knew that it wouldn't knock him out, but that was what the actual hammer head was for. "That'll teach you to get in my way...your sister doesn't need your cheerleading," he said calmly. There was that slight hint of respect in his voice when he spoke of Carmen. The silver-haired wrestler stood there for a moment looking down at his target as if uncertain if he wanted to continue his assault or not.

It didn't matter what he had decided as a pair of arms wrapped around his throat as the Puerto Rican girl jumped on his back and placed him in a rather convincing rear-naked chokehold. He immediately dropped his hammer, probably inches from hitting Army, as his hands shot up to grab those arms. He made choking noises as he struggled to stay on his feet.

"Five!" The ref was taking her time with the count.

As Maxwell stumbled about on the outside, he had one last idea as he stumbled his way back-first into the apron to try and squish the girl off of him. If this didn't work, he was certain to fall to the ground and be at Carmen's mercy.
by acuya on Sun Sep 28, 2014 12:47 am
Army was an idiot, sure. A big, dumb goofus. But he was Carmen's idiot, big dumb goofus of a brother, and there was no way no how she was going to sit back and watched while a short-haired Sephiroth decked him with a hammer. She hoped this point was made abundantly clear as she wrenched the choke on Max even tighter, growling as she put her back into the act. "Go to sleep, asshole. Got to fucking sleep!"

He just might have, too, if he hadn't had a little more in his reserves than she wagered. He had enough strength to back her up into the apron, and she let go on impact as the pain shot down her spine. Carmen gave him a hard shove away, then leaned against the apron as she nursed her sore ribs.
by mnpinner on Sun Sep 28, 2014 9:19 am
Maxwell fell forward to his hands and knees as he was pushed away. It was coming back to him, that dizziness that he had been fighting all match long. Apparently he struck a nerve when attacking the brother. Max had thought that he was doing Carmen a favor by shutting that loudmouth up. Of course, had that same loudmouth not been there in the first place, the hammer would have been for her.

He never quite understood that brother-sister dynamic. He and his own sister, a twin nonetheless, hadn't talked since they were 14 years old. That's when those men captured him and locked him away in that god-awful building with all of those weird people. They gave him medication to take when he left, but Max wasn't going to take that shit when he was on his own.

The silver-haired man would crawl to the announce table before looking over by where Armando was, where his hammer had fallen. There wasn't time for that now.

"Six!"

That he heard. There was only so much time that he had. Like hell he was going to let this match end with a countout. This girl was too much fun to give her that kind of victory. Maxwell closed his eyes as he tried to focus and reached for the top of the table to pull himself to his feet before opening his eyes and turning to face the ring.
by acuya on Sun Sep 28, 2014 3:59 pm
Why were so many wrestlers touched in the head? It was starting to become some kind of crazy running them, but more and more of the people Carmen came across in the company were either relatively normal people or complete psychos. There was almost no divide in between, and Max just proved the rule.

She slowly pulled herself up, grasping her back as she went and hissing at the pain. That knocked something out of place, she could feel it, but she'd wallow around in pain later. Right now, she had a nutcase to smack some sense into.

She saw him pulling himself and tried to come at him from behind with an elbow,, throwing it hard into his back. Not as good as a punch, but it would do.
by mnpinner on Mon Sep 29, 2014 7:17 am
As Maxwell pushed himself to his feet, he couldn't help but laugh out loud. This girl had wore him down every which way he turned. She seemed to be pretty good as a fighter. Sure her technique seemed a little rough around the edges, but damn could she throw a punch.

He raised a hand to his jaw and quickly tilted his head to the side in order to crack his neck. It was certain to be a spectacle that made the audience wonder more about his sanity. Max was just ready to turn around when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back. His hand shot to the closest location to the targeted area that it could reach as his body fell forward onto the announce table. The laughter just continued, albeit with a slight pause for a cough or two now.

"Seven!" Time was running out for these two on the outside of the ring.

"Roll in...then roll back out," he muttered so that Carmen could hear. He didn't care where they continued their fight as long as it didn't end in a countout.
by acuya on Mon Sep 29, 2014 12:19 pm
Carmen could safely say Max was the weirdest opponent she had ever fought. The WBL, the Olympics, even in the AFW - no one came close to being this all-around loopy. He was laughing. All the damage she'd done to this guy, kicking his ass all around the ring, and he was still in his own little world. She could tell, straight away, there was some sort of medication he was supposed to be on that he'd gone a long time without, if he ever took it.

But being batshit nuts didn't make him wrong - having this match end by countout would be unacceptable, just on general principle. There was no way she'd let him off that light.

Carmen rolled into the ring, then came back out again a second later, resetting the count and turning back to face him. "Happy?"
by mnpinner on Mon Sep 29, 2014 11:00 pm
Maxwell was hurting. He had been hurting the entire match all thanks to Carmen's efforts. He hadn't been so utterly destroyed in a match in what felt like forever. It was beautiful to him. HIs back ached. His head was spinning. Hell, he wasn't even sure that he'd be able to lift a finger after this match was through.

His murmur to Carmen to let the match continue going was a truthful wish, but he also had a slight trick up his sleeve. As Carmen turned her attention to the ring in order to reset the count, Maxwell would turn himself around. He was sore still and there wasn't too much movement he could muster without needing to pause.

As Carmen would roll out of the ring, Maxwell had to strike. "YES!" he would shout in response as he charged the Puerto Rican brawler with an outstretched arm for his second clothesline!
by acuya on Tue Sep 30, 2014 3:56 am
For some reason, Carmen assumed that Max would still be a bit dazed when she came back to the floor. That was really one of the most annoying things in dealing with him - it was impossible to tell just what he'd be like from one moment to the next. He was all over the place.

She caught him unawares with the clothesline and it slammed hard in her chest, dropping her flat on the ground. It hurt, sure, numbed up the entire spot of impact, but what really tripped her up was the sheer alacrity of the move, the way it came out of the clear blue.

Whatever the case, he had the advantage for now, as she laid there and squirmed in pain.
by mnpinner on Tue Sep 30, 2014 7:27 am
Maxwell's momentum had been stopped by the ring as he caught himself by grabbing the bottom rope. His hand immediately shot to the arm he used in the clothesline. It felt a little sore. He must have made contact. The silver-haired warrior seemed to only do well in these short bursts of adrenaline. So he needed to act quick before the pain coursed through him and rendered him unable to continue.

He turned around to look down at the hurting Carmen and grinned as he turned his head to the side. His hands darted down to grab the Latina by the hair and back of her pants as he aimed to pick her up and roll her into the ring. Maxwell would roll right in afterwards before getting up in the corner and holding the middle ropes in a crouched position, waiting for Carmen to get up.
by acuya on Tue Sep 30, 2014 12:35 pm
Carmen didn't have to wait long for Max to follow up - he might have been nuttier than the average squirrel turd, but that didn't make him stupid. She grunted and put up a token struggle as he grabbed her by what little hair she had, but ultimately that was just song and dance. She was going where he wanted her to go. Period.

She rolled into the ring and started to shake off the clothesline, pulling herself up, not at all sure what Max was about to go for. He hadn't hit her when she was down, which meant he was probably setting her up for something big and painful. She just had no idea what direction to expect it from.
by mnpinner on Wed Oct 01, 2014 7:42 am
The silver-haired warrior was waiting like a lion to pounce on a gazelle. Except, this wasn't no gazelle that he was stalking. It was a full-on puma. He would rock forward and back as he held the middle ropes in his crouched position as she watched Carmen start to pull herself to her feet.

Maxwell had never tried a spear before. As much as he loved watching it executed, there never seemed to be the opportunity for him to run head-first into an opponent. Maybe he'd add it to his moveset. "Hammerhead" sounded like a good name. He grinned just thinking about it. Now...NOW!!! She was getting up and just about turned around as she searched for the silver-haired wrestler. As soon as Carmen was turned to face him, he would charge shoulder and head-first aiming right for the Latina's midsection!

Carmen didn't have to wait long to figure out where Max was - he made himself known. Oh, boy, did he make himself known.

She turned and saw him coming just in time to realize how much this was going to hurt, but not in time to do a damn thing about it, He charged straight into her with the first spear she'd ever taken, knocking her clear off her feet and sending the two of them down, slamming into the mat and laying her out beneath. She immediately tried to push him away and clutch her aching stomach and battered ribs, gawking and gasping as she rolled over to her side.

Maxwell was aiming low, trying to knock all of the air out of Carmen as he could. As he leaped at his opponent, the silver-haired wrestler ducked his head down and aimed his shoulder right at his target.

He felt Carmen's midsection collide with his bone and flesh as the momentum drove her down to the mat. It was a thrill! A rush! He was instantly in love with the move. As he rolled to get into a seated position, he grabbed his head. The dizziness was returning at the worst time. He was starting to see double as two Carmens writhed around on the mat in pain. Maxwell loved seeing his work, especially in stereo, but the spinning needed to stop. He needed to end this match so that he could, to his chagrin, see a doctor. The Silver-Haired Warrior shook his head as he tried to get the cobwebs loose before crawling to Carmen's body and rolling her onto her back. We would fall backwards, cross-bodied as he grabbed both of her legs and hooked them for a rather cocky pin.

"1...!" Carmen felt Max's weight come down on her, but she could hardly believe he was trying to do what he was clearly trying to do - a pin? After a spear? He really thought she was that easy?

2...!"

Carmen kicked out as soon as the referee's hand hit the mat for a second time, throwing her hand to the ceiling and bringing her shoulder along with it. She wasn't going to be getting up fast, but she could get up, enough to make sure that Max would have to work a lot harder if he wanted a clean win.

Maxwell just leaned forward and laughed. Of course he wasn't surprised that the Latina was able to kick out. In fact he counted on it happening. One spear wasn't enough to satiate his appetite anyway. The silver-haired warrior planted his hand on the mat and proceeded to bring himself to his feet. As he turned to look at his prey, Maxwell licked his lips.

What to do? What to do? What to do? he thought as he walked his way to the corner. Again... was all that ran through his mind as each hand grabbed the top rope as he leaned forward in a readied position for a second spear. His hunger would be satiated one way or another.

Carmen would give this much and not all that much else to Max: the guy knew how to do a tackle. Carmen felt like her guts had been rearranged, her stomach thoroughly wrecked, one of the hardest blows she'd ever taken down there. She could get up, she could fight, but after that all her body wanted to do was lay back and take a rest.

She started to push up and get to her feet, but she hesitated for a moment when she saw Max's position in the corner of her eye. He looked like he was getting to take off and plow over her, drop her hard with another spear. This time, though, she'd be ready. As soon as he charged her way, she'd try to fall to the side and make him miss, give him nothing but the floor to fall into.

Maxwell was ready to pounce. He could taste the blood in the air. His prey was slowly getting to her feet, and his own feet were fighting his grip on the ropes to get moving. Then the moment came when the silver-haired wrestler saw his target flash before his eyes. The rocket launched forward with ferocity and blood in his eyes.

However, as he left his feet to deliver the second spear in as many tries, Carmen lay down, causing Maxwell to fly over the Latina. His arrogance had gotten the better of him as everything started to head back to the way it was before he gained momentum. Max's eyes looked up as he started his decent to the mat only to see the inevitably terrible consequence: the turnbuckle. His head was the first to hit the bottom cushion as it ricocheted upwards. He barely moved it to the side as the rest of his body, mainly his right shoulder, crashed into the metal pole.

Carmen had only intended to dodge his attack and buy herself some time, give her a few moment to recoup and get back in the fight. She hadn't noticed how close she was to the turnbuckle, didn't count on that to make Max's tumble exponentially worse. Sometimes you get lucky. Nice.

She - and the entire crowd - winced when he hit the pole and the nasty sound of metal on bone echoed through the arena. That didn't mean she was going to let up, though. Hardly. Now that he was down, she had to capitalize.

She was still a little too winded to risk pulling him up and taking him head on, but there were some things she could do on the mat. Certainly more that she could be she started wrestling. She stood up, using the ropes for support as she rose, and moved over to Max's fallen form. Carmen reached for his ankles and tried to pull him away from the ropes, get him far enough away to slap on a boston crab and work on his back. Max knew how to take punishment, but even he had limits, and Carmen suspected she was quickly reaching them.

Arms lay draped over the bottom rope. A head lay resting by the meeting between the turnbuckle's cushion and the rope. Maxwell had really done it now. He had gotten in over his head betting on the second spear and was now paying the ultimate price. His right shoulder had a pain unlike that which he had been familiar with before. Normally, this would invigorate him, but the silver haired warrior's body was not willing to allow that.

He was essentially a rag doll at the moment, and Carmen seemed keen to capitalize as the mad man felt himself pulled away from the turnbuckle. His hand tried to grab hold of the rope before it left, but it was a fruitless effort. His instincts told him what was coming as he felt his leg pulled backwards. Slowly his lower back was bent upwards as his body lay flat on the mat. The Latina locked Maxwell into a Boston crab, which caused the silver-haired man to groan in pain as the pressure was starting to build. His arm reached out with little effort, but to no avail. Max was locked in pretty bad with a world of pain flowing through him.
