Black and White Feathers

It'd been a while since Lia's last match, which had ended with something beyond the defeat on her record. She'd gotten Lily's phone number and an invite over to her and her sister's place. Normally, she'd have jumped at the chance to go to a new friend's home, but a poor scheduling on her part made the wait to find time to go stretch out. But she decided that it wasn't worth spending yet another day like that.

Lia texted Lily to see if she was free, otherwise she might as well just be crashing her home. Hey Lily, u good w me comig over 2day?

While Lia was texting, Lily on the other hand was doing her daily morning jog. Ever since that last match with her new friend, she felt good that she can finally win on her own and not rely so much on her older sister, Layla. However, she still had to keep her strength as she plans to go for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

Lily's headphones soon heard a dinging of a new message and she reached into her pocket to open it. "Oh, it's from Lia!" She would stop for a moment and quickly text back:

"Sure! Here's the address!"

She sent the address before continuing her jog so she can get home and change.

Awesom! will b there like 10 mins" Actually, she wasn't sure how long she'd take, her frequent roaming around didn't help with her directions, her brain just wasn't wired to remember stuff like that. A quick online check though told her that it was really pretty close, so Lia set off.

Lia threw on a light sweater over her usual daily wear, it hadn't snowed yet, but it was still a bit chilly to be outside without it. Once she got there, Lia knocked on the door and waited to meet up with Lily.

Lily would quickly rush back to her home and head upstairs to change. She was really excited for Lia to come over, so she had to look her best. She took a quick shower before changing into her jean pants, sneakers, and her warm buckskin leather shirt. It only took 10 minutes for her to do all of that before the doorbell rang.

Lily quickly ran downstairs and checked through the peephole to be sure it's Lia. After checking, she opened the door and said with a smile, "Lia! It's so good to see you!" She would hug her friend tightly to show her joy.

"Hey Lily! Oo-ouff! Wow, hasn't been that long, right?" Lia was a taken a little off guard by the hug, but Lia processed it soon enough and she hugged back.. She almost dropped a bag that she'd brought, a bit of clanking heard from inside.

"I brought a early Christmas present for you and your sister, I hope you'll like it.", explaining why the albino girl brought the bag.

"Sorry," said Lily as she blushed and slowly broke off the hug. She would then glance down at the present as she said, "Oh, thank you so much!" She accepted the gift before encouraging her friend to come inside. "Come in! Come in! The cold won't stop for anyone around here and we can catch our death the longer we stand out here!"

"Yeah... That's probably smart." Lia had been out for barely 15 minutes and the cold was proving to be more than what she expected. She followed Lily into her home and did a quick cursory glance around. "Well... how are ya? Anything fun happen, Lily?" It had barely been a month, but Lia was the question asking type by nature.

Lily would close the door quickly so that the cold won't get in anytime soon. Carefully placing the bag on the side, Lily would offer a couch to have Lia sit in. Sitting on a seat of her own, she would make herself comfortable before speaking with Lia.

"Oh, nothing new. Since Christmas is coming by, me and my sister have been decorating the exterior and interior of our house at the first day of December before anything else. Our family will be visiting us this Christmas and we can relive our traditions! What about you?"

"Eh... honestly not much. Mostly routine stuff I guess. It's not like I have much of a family to come over." Lia replied in a surprisingly neutral tone. "I guess it'll be nice for you two though, the holidays are the best time for celebrating stuff, yeah?" Even as she was talking, Lia was looking around, and the house really did look very festive, decorations were visible all around.

"Yup,"said Lily with a nod, seeing that Lia was enjoying the decorations. "Say, Lia? How about if you can join our festivities? We have lots of great fun and games and we can do some classic Christmas music together. Here, let me get us some hot cocoa." She went up to prepare two steaming cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows before returning to offer one cup to her guest.
