Clare O'Doherty vs Nanako Jounouchi

Clare saw further opportunities, and instead of focusing on a large flurry, Clare wanted Nanako to succumb to pain once more. That was the way she saw achieving a knock out, that was probably the only way. Clare counted her blessings that she wasn't hit when she went for the head shots. But Clare had gauged everything she thought she needed to about her opponent, only hoping she wasn't going to harm Nanako beyond what twas necessary. Still, there was none of that compassion in her next punch. She through it hard at the ribs she had already worked over, admitting that she was a bit mesmerized by the amazon-esque body her opponent had.

The idea that she was taking the big girl on and showing her up was a big deal, considering how this was her debut. She wanted to impress a veteran for her next match, the best way to do so was to show that she was a competent boxer, and so she blocked compassion and sympathy out of her mind, Nanako seemed to underestimate the risk, Clare wanted to train her to evade. Clare always found that by either frustrating or demoralizing an opponent, solely with her fists, was useful in the psychological department, where right now she was in a great state.

Still a little dazed from those blows to the face, Nanako admitedly not used to being punched at all, it left her wide open to a follow up from her skilled opponant. Tall or not, being hammered repeatedly in the ribs certainly weakened her, and when Clare brought one hard blow plowing into her side again Nanako could barely let out a cry of pain in response. She stumbled away from Clare, clutching her bruised ribs in pain, and probably would hve fallen to the mat again if she hadn't managed to snag one of the nearby ropes.

Groaning in agony, nanako attempted to right herself up with the ropes, but was in too much pain. The best she could do was drape both her arms over the top ropes, which seemed to be the only thing keeping her up at this point.

Clare knew once again that Nanako was struggling, the hard shot to the ribs really seemed to rock her. Then, the golden opportunity came to fruition, Clare wouldn't squander it. Now that she saw her opponents arms on the ropes, she knew she didn't have to fear the powerhouse shots that she'd thrown in the beginning. With that comfort in mind, Clare would try to give her opponent a quick right jab to the eye, instantly followed by a rigid left hook. She hadn't hit too many head shots, but if she was going to get this win by knockout, she knew she'd probably have too, unless the larger opponent all but gave up by then. She was hurt, which was surprising to Clare, who was sure she'd of fought someone stronger in the past. Though, Nanako was fighting in a very inexperienced manner. Whether she landed the shots or not, Clare would back down for the time, monitoring her opponent's condition.

Nanako stayed draped over the ropes with a pained expression. Some may have thought she was resting, but relly those ropes were the only thing keeping her up at the moment. Nanako now knew why she never took up boxing. It hurt being hit by those gloves. Her tall body, toughened up by a couple of years of professional wrestling, had never expereienced the pain that came from the heavy handed blows of boxing. If anything, Nanako had a bit of a glass jaw.

The tall beauty's position on the ropes would turn out be one that left her quite vulnerable. Now lowered to Clare's level it left her exposed to even more head shots. "UGH! GUH!!" Nanako groaned, her face snapping left and right from the blows, and the girl was soon seeing stars, Nanako's head lolled against her chest, her eyes closed as a faint moan escaped her lips. Those ropes would turn out to be a very bad thing for Nanako, as she seemed to be stuck on them!

Clare surveyed her opponent, she wasn't doing so well, making her take some pity as she walked back in on her defenseless opponent. Clare didn't quite know what to do with her. It was unusual for the pace to be so much her own, she pretty much had the ability to punch at her leisure during this fight. Clare would send out another flawless combo of lightning quick, clean punches. The first being a straight left followed by a stomach shot, and then an uppercut. She almost felt guilty for beating the poor girl so bad. She could tell that her punches rocked Nanako, she seemed tough, but she almost seemed shocked at being hit. Clare only wondered if she'd be able to keep going if the last combo hit.

Nanako lay there against the ropes, her vision blurry from those last two hits, but she knew Clare was close by, and it wasn't like Nanako had very many places to go either. Groning in a daze, Nanako would reopen her eyes and slowly lift her head, coming upon the sight of Clare coming at her again. "N-No.." Nanako whined, trying to will herself to move but she ws still stuck on the ropes, leaving her helpless to Clare's quick combo. "GUH!" Nanako cried out, herfce snapping back from the left jab. "HUH!!" She groaned, hunching over from the stomach hit, and then the uppercut struck home, sending her head flying uupwards.

That last blow served to loosen Nanako from the ropes, but without them there was now nothing to hold her up. With black spots now dancing in her vision Nanako would fall like tree down to the mat, collapsing onto her stomach with a weak groan. The ref girl would immediately start the count. "One.....two....three..." Even as thecount started Nanako didn;t move much, merely writhed in pain on the mat.

Clare moved to the neutral corner as she saw her opponent topple over. The uppercut had landed satisfyingly solid, sending a shockwave up her arm. She watched her opponent, lie fairly motionless on the mat, feeling a twinge of guilt once more. It seemed to happen almost too much, she was a dangerous fighter, and with opponents like Nanako, who seemed humble and avoided talking trash. She'd been in situations like this before, she was unscathed by now from the two punches she took, by contrast of her opponent, a seemingly broken heap, sprawled out on the canvas. Clare looked over Nanako and waited to see how the count would turn out.

"Four....five...." Nanako dully heard the count countuing, but she seemed to be in another world right now. She lay there on the mat, arms out at her sides, breasts smushed underneath her and cheek resting on the mat. She was sore all over, and those head shots had her head swimming in a daze. Part of her wanted to stay down, to let the ref girl count her out nd end this match. After all, she wasn't even supposed to be here right.

Butthen another part of her, the part that urged her to sign up for the AFW in the first place, shouted at her to get back up. Nanako had alredy been taken for a ride in her first match. If she stayed down now after that pathetic display it would be like announcing to the AFW that she was a joke, a pushover. That was not what she came here for. She came for the oppposite, to prove to everyone that she could make it here.

With a great deal of effort, Nanako would get her gloves under her, and with a groan would begin to get to her feet. She would be slow to do so, and the ref girl would contiue the counr, but just as she was about to get to seven, Nanako would stand to her full considerable height again. She raised her teal coloured gloves at the ready. "N-Not done....yet," she whispered. If Nanako was going down, she was going down hard.

Clare was actually surprised to see her opponent rise from the canvas. She felt as though she had underestimated her. She deserved a lot of credit, as many fighters would stay down after taking quite the thrashing. Clare was glad to see that she was okay, her fists raised back up for the first time in a while. Clare knew to be weary once more. She found herself still waiting patiently in the corner for a moment, then she moved in with her guard up, she wasn't looking to keep the methodical pace anymore, now she planned on anchoring down and boxing in close the whole time. She didn't throw a punch yet however as she put herself within a foot and a half or so of Nanako.

Nanako was still a little punch-drunk from her time on the ropes. That had really given her a workover. But she was on her feet again, and that was what mattered. This match would keep going until one fighter was out cold at the other's feet. And t the way things were going, that person was going to be Nanako. But maybe on her way down Nanako could do a little bit more damage of her own. If only to prove to herself and the watching audience that she was not a weakling.

Her fists raised at the ready, Nanako would attmept to close the distance between her and Clare with careful steps, taking care to guard her face. She really didn;t like being hit there. Once she was close enough, Nanako would attempt to throw a favoured right at Clare, but this would turn out to be a feint. Her real blow would come in the form of a powerful left that she would try to drive deep into Clare's stomach.
