Jean Grey vs Reika Hasegawa

Reika was taken by surprise as Jean came at her from the side, lifting her up. Although she was still fairly dazed, she still had some fight left in her, throwing a punch into Jean's face as she was hauled up. Hopefully, this would loosen Jean's grip, but otherwise Reika would be helpless as Jean executed the ankle buster.

Jean at this point in the battle was starting to run on adrenaline and would be able to take that one punch...in fact it would probably encourage her right there to go for the drop on Reika's ankle.

Even though Reika punched Jean hard, the redhead refused to let go. The next thing Reika knew, she was hurled downwards, her ankle slamming hard into Jean's outstretched knee. Intense pain shot up through Reika's leg, and she instantly bit her lip, not wanting to give Jean the satisfaction of hearing her scream. Even so, she tumbled off of Jean's oustretched knee over onto her side, clenching her teeth as she clutched at her hurting ankle, trying to shut out the pain as best she could.

Jean Grey would still be forced to fall to one knee from the fist to the face. She grabbed her face and shook it to clear the cobwebs before getting back up and taking a few steps back from reika. Going after the leg might be a good strategy here. It would perhaps ruin Reika's chances of using her high flying moves too effectively and also perhaps set her up for Jean's sharpshooter finisher.

She would wait for Reika to see if she made a move to get up. If Reika did get up and her back was turned, Jean would go for the clothesline attack to the back of the leg, Ric Flair style. If Reika was facing her getting up, jean would attempt to grab her injured foot, lift it up and go for the dragon screw twist.

For a while, Reika still lay on the mat, teeth clench as she clutched her hurting ankle. Although she didn't want to admit it, that redhead had hurt her badly. Her ankle was throbbing with pain, and she knew, just from the way it hurt, that she wouldn't be able to use any high-flying moves. Hell, even walking would be a problem now.

Willing herself to get up, Reika turned to face Jean, determined not to let the redhead get the drop on her. She turned just in time to see Jean walking over towards her, reaching down to grab her injured foot. Lashing out, Reika tried to drive her back with a hard fist to her belly, not wanting her to punish her hurting leg any further.

Jean took the shot tot eh gut and faltered staritng to lose her grip on the leg.

Breathing hard now, Reika felt Jean's grip weakening. Using her free leg, she tried to kick up into Jean's thigh or midsection, hoping that this would drive her off.

Jean would also be nailed by this and back away from Reika staggering slightly.

Now given some breathing space, Reika would huff and roll up to her feet, slowly and painfully standing up as she put pressure on her hurt ankle. She winced a little, knowing that she was at a serious disadvantage now.

By the time Reika got up, Jean recovered and would come back with a clobbering right hand aimed for the forehead.
