Gina Baudelaire vs Dirk Lewser - A Simple Dark Match (For Cleo)

It was after another successful Tension show and the majority of fans were heading to the exits to head home. Meanwhile, an independent wrestler by the name of Dirk Lewser was doing the opposite. And quite quickly at that. *pant!**pant!* He was running as fast as he could through the hallways of the Tension building, dodging wrestlers, staff, and objects as much as he could trying to find where the ring was. Earlier, he was given a late email that he had to showcase his skills in a dark match tonight before management could approve of his application. If he could pull this off, he might just have a new wrestling home away from home!

C'mon! C'mon! C'mon! Where is the... There! He said as he looked to see a big room where plenty staff gathered and a large curtain. This had to be the gorilla position. It just had to be, right? Dirk slid to a stop and bent over, placing his hands on his knees to try to get a quick breather. Haa...! Haaa... Haaa..! Suddenly, a man wearing a headset and a clipboard walked up to him, looking somewhat uninterested. He looked down at his clipboard and flipped a couple pieces of paper until stopping three pages in. Let's see here. Uhhh...Dick- No. Drik Lewis? He said, looking back at the still recovering rookie.

Dirk, slowly looked at the man, swallowed some saliva that was in his screaming throat and wiped some sweat off of his forehead with the back of his left.
After that, he raised his right hand to chest height and pointed up with his index finger. I-It's actually... Dirk Lewse-
And that was all Dirk could get out of his mouth before being harshly interrupted by the impatient clipboard man.

Whatever, kid. You're late. Just go out there and make her look good and cute, alright? The fans love that shit. I don't get paid enough for this shit. Which was last thing the man said before walking off.

Dirk's index finger receded back into his hand and his hand balled up into a fist. There was no anger in his body. Far from it. Dirk was the one at fault here. So, cutting his losses, he sighed and made his way to the entrance curtain. He stood and waited for his cue.

Three! Two! One! GO!

HAAAH!! Dirk lets out a primal scream to hype himself up before stepping out unto stage. Stopping at the top of the entrance ramp, he slowly looked at the gigantic size of the arena. He gulped in awe of it all. This was much bigger than RCW. Much bigger indeed. But, this was no time for cold feet. It was time for action! Dirk patted his face with the palms of his hands twice and made his way down the ramp to the ring. A generic production theme played throughout the stereos of the arena as he did so. Once, he reached the ring, he rolled inside and quickly sat up to a crouching position. He then got to his feet, and made his way over to corner. Once he arrived there, he turned around and began removing his white polo shirt and putting on his elbow pads and wrist bands. Then, he reached into the pocket of his pink wrestling shorts and pulled out a light blue mouthpiece and placed it on his upper row of teeth. Finally, he sat on the middle turnbuckle and looked at the entrance ramp. Wondering what exactly awaited him.

Wait.... Didn't that guy say to "make her look good and cute"?

Gina was a bit reluctant to fight in her first match—even worst, that she was fighting a man. Only a month earlier, she had been a simple college student, but unfortunately, her best friend had dragged her into the world of wrestling. In hindsight, she should have seen it coming, the moment Lucia told her that she loved wrestling. More specifically, because she came from a family of modern day gladiators, with quite the sweetest mother in all existence. In fact, her mother, Juliet, was in on it too, prepared to come along with them. However, it wasn't as she needed to go, she just felt obligated to look after the only loyal friend she had, and to an extent, it would add a bit of flair to her boring life. She heard that wrestlers are basically like actors, so in a way, she was still chasing her dream of working in theatrics.
Needless to say, she got more than she bargained for; getting to runaway from her family to live with Lucia in Japan. Before she left, the pink-haired diva's family had a bit of an early reunion for Christmas—not for anything good, despite the season. They bickered and bitched all about the current state of their finances and how they were going to go about paying for her tuition and keep their small business running. It was a decision she made in the spur of the moment, but she abandoned it all for this: college, her boyfriend, the family business, and her friend group. On the bright side, she got to try out some authentic ramen with her long-haired brunette of a best friend. She could remember it clearly; how she burnt her tongue a bit, yet continued to chug down the entire bowl with childish glee. Sometimes, she wondered how anyone could dislike Lucia when she was genuinely so passionate and cute. Yeah, she was extremely overconfident and overwhelmingly energetic, but her heart was in the right place. Perhaps such happy feelings would rub off on her. Then again, she had to take this fight solo tonight without the help of her more experienced friend. She taught her as much as she could in a month, but only time would tell how useful that would be going into this fight.
As she walked down the hallway, and towards the entrance to the stadium; Gina pondered the times when she had found herself staring down a girl that wanted to mess with her. It was a common occurrence, being the golden partner of Lucia Giovanni and all, but she never exactly disliked the thrill. In all reality, it was the final reason for joining AFW. There was nothing like the feeling of getting hit, and throwing one right back at them.
The French heroine walked through the curtains, gradually revealing her lower belly to the light, before bursting her head further in to greet the audience. She strutted down the ramp with a certain confidence most didn't have during their debuts. She wasn't all too confident in her victory, but she'd be damned if she didn't at least try, and try her best at that. She swayed her long hair away from her shoulder, and waved at the audience with a gentle, warm smile. She noticed that she was adored from the second she stepped into the stadium, and it gradually built up a giddy sense of excitement in her heart. She'd slide into the ring, and face her male opponent. She certainly hoped to go against another woman, more familiar with that area of fighting, but beggars couldn't be choosers. The heroine would do her best to overcome the man, who, at first sight, seemed like a bit of an idiot or a goofball. It comforted her a bit, but she didn't let it put her guard down as the bell finally rang, time both moving faster and slower than she expected.

Welp. He had a feeling. Oh hell... Dirk said silently to himself with a sigh. Welp. What a way to debut, right?
Going up against a woman. And not just any woman. A pretty little thing all decked out in pink. Well, this will most definitely be quite the experience.
He watched as she made her way down the entrance ramp, exuding confidence and poise as if she were a celebrity. She stood in the ring and faced him.
A clear and fierce determination in her eyes. A determination that said, "I don't know where you came from. Nor do I care. But, you better take me seriously if you know what's good for you." Dirk gulped and made his way to Gina to face her. She was a little shorter than him by about 2 inches. But, if there was one thing he definitely knew about professional wrestling, it was that the size of the dog didn't matter. But, the size of the fight in that dog did. And, he was gonna show his fight no matter who faced.

DING! DING! DING!

The bell had rung signaling the start of the match. Dirk quickly raised his right fist to his mouth and cleared his throat into his knuckle before quickly rubbing into the side of his wrestling shorts. Then, he brought his hand back up in Gina's direction in the hopes of at least having some sportsmanship before they throwdown. Let's a have good match!

Gina smiled, undoubtedly wanting to float through her time in the wrestling industry with ease. She shook his hand, but his mistake was doing it after the bell rang, the pink-haired cutie attempting to yank his hand towards her and toss a swift jab to his face. Gina wasn't the strongest girl in the world, and she didn't even have a fit physique to match the other girls in her league, but she was no stranger to throwing a punch. She knew where to aim, and how to minimize damage to her small frame. She perfectly mimicked what her brother had taught her; the boy noticing that she'd get picked on a lot, and eventually decided to teach her a thing or two in hopes that she'd be able to go home with one less bruise.
Lucia hadn't had a fight yet, so Gina felt like she had to make a strong first impression for the both of them. In contrast, she could have just lowered the bar, to surprise everyone when her best friend got her chance in the spotlight, but she wasn't going to have her career tank so soon either. If she came back home empty-handed, the French beauty would simply be a failure, and had run away from home and college for absolutely nothing.

At least Dirk was able to shake hands with his opponent. Perhaps, this handshake was friendly and had no malice or ill-intent behind- Wha-?! Suddenly, Dirk found himself being pulled toward her direction! Before he could defend himself and assess the situation, a pink fist came flying right into his nose! Kuhkss! Dirk grunted as he stumbled a step backward and turned to his side. He quickly brought his right hand up to his face and felt his just struck nostrils. Yep. That hurt. That hurt a decent amount and left him open for another attack, whatever Gina had in mind. So much for sportsmanship it seems.

Though she wasn't a fighter, she was a damn good ballerina—the rude brat spinning around the canvas, and stopping in front of her opponent, sending a hard, kick to his chin. It was surely an elegant display of beauty, but her movements are slow, and could have potentially given him enough time to catch her by surprise. However, dancing was a private hobby of hers that only Lucia knew. In a way, it would be what people would recognize her for. After all, there wasn't exactly much crossover between ballerina's and wrestlers. Gina, of course, wanted to be an actor, but she always appeared more focused on honing her leg work to perfection. In the locker room earlier, she even stretched out her body, aware that it would've made a good secret weapon. That mindset was what also caused her to add a skirt to her wrestling attire, knowing it would be of good use for her if she needed more momentum, and to her excitement, it made her look far more ethereal—a pink blur, to be specific.

Still nursing his nose that's been struck beforehand by a pro boxer turned wrestler a year prior in his home promotion, Dirk didn't see Gina's ballerina style kick coming to his chin! This lifted his head upward and sent he stumbling back a bit. After the stumble, he turned around facing the ropes. He motioned his jaw a couple of times before settling. Alright then... That was two shots.

It was time to return fire! Female or not. Pretty or not. Dirk didn't travel this far to become a stepping stone for every woman he that stood across from him in this ring! He came here for competition and that's what he's going to dish out! He wasn't just going to stand there and take the embarrassment or the abuse. And with that line of thinking, Dirk stood up straight, took a quick breather to get himself readjusted to the situation. And then, in a quick fluid motion, Dirk jumped off the canvas, spun his body completely 180 degrees around to face Gina once more with his left leg extended for an Enzuigiri attack aimed at the left side of her face! If the move connected, he would land on the ground, quickly get back to his feet and give her an irish whip to the ropes behind him!

The leg immediately connected to the side of her cheek, blood running down her nose onto the canvas. She had to commend, the guy, he could pack a skilled kick that put hers to shame, but she wasn't exactly done yet. The night was still young, and she had more than enough energy left. However, Dirk snatched the top of her head, with a hand on her stomach—the ballerina whining softly at his touch, but soon launched back to the ropes. She came back to her senses, and attempted to duck her head down, but before she could, Gina was face to face with the man.
She was rather useless in close combat, so she had no cards to pull at that very moment. In a way, it was all up to Dirk if he wanted to take advantage of their lack of space. In her mind, Gina cursed herself out, realizing how much she'd screwed herself over so soon into the match. She couldn't kick him, as it wouldn't have much force to it, and as for punches, she had only gone for it, since it would be unexpected to the newbie. Though, it seemed to be her only option left, if he wouldn't persist on a potential chop to the face.

His attack was successful! And he thinks he might've stiffed her a little bit which was not his intention. But, this was a contact sport and accidents do happen. Hopefully, when all is said and done, the two could laugh all of this off and become friends. No hurt feelings and the realization that all of this was just business.

Alright! He shouted to no one in particular as he waited for Gina's return from the irish whip. He leaned forward a bit, in a ready position prepared for a follow up. But... something caused him to stop and the two ended up bumping into each other instead! Why? Why was this happening now?! Why did Dirk have to be in nice guy mode now?!
This was a wrestling match! Before he confront this moral dilemma in his head, he quickly noticed out of the corner of his eye that was Gina attempting to chop him. Not again. Dirk decided to deploy his striking skills and quickly bring his left hand to shove her chop away and use his right hand to deliver a quick one of his own directly into her chest!

If this was a successful attack, Dirk would bring Gina to the ropes he originally threw her to, then irish whip her once again to the ropes on the opposite side of the ring, duck down underneath her and if his plan worked, once she came back, he drop down once more with a quick drop toe hold attempt!

Gina blew away her bangs out of her face, the woman now laid on her stomach. She felt the canvas—cold and riddled with scars; droplets from her nose painting it a new coat of red. The ballerina was furious, and downright frustrated that she had been outplayed. It wasn't a common occurrence for wrestlers, but she slammed her fist down, and groaned loudly for everyone to hear. She gradually picked her back up and glared at Dirk. On the verge of throwing a bit of a tantrum, she held it all behind the fact that she hadn't lost just yet; she'd still have some time to make him pay. She spun her waist to a position that made it easy for her to get back on her feet, and immediately leaped on the man, wrapping her legs around his hips. She went into the hold with as much pressure as she could, trying to squeeze his abs, as if they'd pop. With her body steadily placed, she threw punch after punch at his face, attempting to make him bleed as well. In the back of her mind, she felt like he should have held back on a female, even if she was a wrestler, but it didn't matter much now. Gina was going to beat him senseless until he toppled over like David and Goliath.
