A Newcomer's Wager: Daichi Kazura vs. Zoey Andrews (D)

Zoey was not one if not fair, she might have a sharp tongue and was willing to put anything on the line for victory, but even with a ref out of the equation it would seem a bit cheap on her side to bend the rules to win here. She had her pride to consider after all. She waited for Daichi to get to his feet as he seemed to flatter her ability while she kept a reasonable guard though couldn't help but smile a bit at the first exchange going her way of sorts.

"Thanks, came here to win today and you seem to be impressive yourself. Just the kind of challenge I need to begin my career~!" Zoey said with a bit of fire as she assumed a grapple stance and circled looking to lock up again.

It was a breath of fresh air to wrestle a rookie who would not bend the rules just because the referee was there. She seemed like a likeable person, competitive but not the one to bend the rules in order to win. Defeating someone like her would no doubt put Daichi on the mat. However, from their early exchanges, he figured he would have to do a lot better if he wanted to defeat Zoey.

The two would get back up and get ready to square up again. He raised his arm up just as she did, ready to lunge in and grapple. The two locked up and immediately he would look to transition the grapple into a side headlock by breaking away and moving to the side, looking to wrap his arm around her head and press it against the side of his chest while tightening his biceps around her head.

Zoey likewise appreciated that for his bravado and such he seemed to be a fair sport and backed up the banter with skill as opposed to cheap tricks. She knew not everyone in AFW was bound to be like this but as her first taste of action she was glad she met up with someone like this, though at the moment that praise was tempered by the fact that she was pressed in a tight headlock.

Zoey of course, knew she needed to get out of this. She squirmed a bit in the hold and worked to try to back them up to the ropes. From there, she would attempt to use momentum to push him forward and slide her head out int he hopes to get him to bounce along the ropes. If this worked she would then attempt to meet him on the rebound with a firm shoulder block aiming to take him down!

It was impressive how Zoey would openly challenge him to a grapple battle. Clearly, the Foxez gym was a group of talented individuals and her wrestling ability really showed. He didn't test her too much in the grapple, quickly breaking off to the side for a tight headlock. He gritted his teeth and widened his base, tightening his biceps to really squeeze her head between his arms.

"Hah...so you seeing anyone? Or are guys who make you tap in the ring on your no-date list?" he teased as she pushed him into the ring ropes and use them to spring him to the opposite set of ropes, freeing herself in the process. He bounced off them and came back, with Zoey striking him with a shoulder block to send him down to the mats.

"Guuugh" he grunted as he fell down on his back.

Zoey could not thank Foxez enough for helping to shape her to who she was, it may have been “amateur” but the girls and guys there could hang with anyone and so far Zoey seemed to show that holding her own though the headlock was a bit of a pickle. To make it more interesting, the guy seemed to casually ask if she was dating which caused her to roll her eyes.

“S-save the flirting for after the match…” Zoey grunted.

Thankfully it seemed her tactic to force her way out of the side headlock worked, as she managed to take him down with a shoulder block on the rebound and had this guy flat on his back, which but one moment to catch her breath she jumped up aiming to deliver a leg drop aiming to slam her leg across his chest and neck with full force!
