Round 1: Kiku Shiori vs "Sexy" Sadie (no contest)

The crowd awaited the start of the match with high expectations. It was the first round of the first ever "Princess of the Ring" Tournament, and it would also be the first appearance of the newcomer, Kiku Shiori. The lights focused on the top the ramp, and Kiku appeared. She had a very enthusiastic look, waving energetically to the crowd. As she walked down the ramp, the crowd saw with mixed happiness and curiosity that her bottoms were covered by nothing more than a sumo-style fundoshi. She also wore a sleeveless vest, leaving her healthy arms and legs exposed.

The short girl in pigtails reached the ring and clibed onto it, doing some warm-up exercises as she awaited her opponent. Kiku was eager to have her first match, and it looked like this tournament would have an interesting start.

As soon as Kiku got settled in her corner, warming up, a fast and wild intro to "Revolution" by the Beatles blared out of the loud speakers of the arena. Bouncing out of the back and clad in a red tank-top and black short shorts and holding a mini electric guitar was Sadie Fields. The energetic blue-eyed kawaii ran down to the ring, knowing this was the start of what could be the biggest event of her career.

Leaving the guitar at the edge of the ring, Sadie slid into the ring and smiled at her fundoshi-clad opponent. So she was to face a girl who at least would try sumo tactics, at least that's what she could observe. She moved towards the girl with an outstretched hand, "Hi..I'm Sadie, let's have a good match." After which she would return to her corner.

As Sadie started warming up and waiting for the bell to ring, she tried to recall what Yatori-senpai had said about her sumo friend. She also would try to recall her bout with the larger Akashi Tanikaze, which had ended in a brutal beat-down. This would be an interesting match-up to say the least.

The kawaii watched her opponent's entrace with interest, recognizing the melody at once. Sadie seemed to be as eager as her about the tournament, and she'd be sure to show her a good performance in her first match.

Kiku looked at Sadie's hand, then took it and shook it gladly. "I'm Shiori Kiku. Call me Kiku, okay?" She said, smiling. "Let's have a good match!" After Sadie returned to her corner, Kiku did a very shortened version of a sumo pre-fight ritual, her mind already on her opponent. The bell rang; without hesitation, Kiku walked to the center of the ring and crouched down while her fists hovered above the mat, leaving no doubts as to the fighting style she'd be using. "Now, come!"

Sadie only smiled as the two girls shook hands. Now that the friendly greetings were done, it was time to be serious. Her face suddenly changed as she turned from her corner to face her opponent. Seeing her already in the center of the ring, Sadie obliged to Kiku's request and came, but not necessarily slow. It may have been considered a cheap opening, but Sadie knew she had use her speed to her advantage from the start. Bouncing off of the rope, Sadie launched herself towards Kiku with an aim to slide between the sumo-style girl's legs while grabbing onto her ankles. From her match with Akashi, Sadie had learned the hard way that sumos pride themselves in their center of gravity, and it was Sadie's job to fight that.

Kiku, from her crouched position, watched Sadie's movements with open eyes. She was slightly puzzled when Sadie started off by bouncing off the ropes, of all things, but when she noticed that she was coming right towards her she didn't falter. It was a good starting opportunity for her. As Sadie came closer, Kiku left her crouch and moved forward, also with considerable speed. Sumo wrestlers could be very quick on their feet, and being small-sized certainly helped when it came to agility. She wanted to get close enough and land a palm strike on Saide's chest; she didn't suspect what her opponent was up to, but it wouldn't matter if the hit landed, as Sadie's charge would be cut short before she even started sliding.
