Strategy/Style: Simple, yet effective. Its what Ryota prefers and it has served her well over her years of combat. Instead of the ‘over-the-top’, ‘rambunctiousness’ of pro wrestling that many fans are into, Ryota has settled into a ‘no-frills’ style. The preference to practicality and utility within her moveset means that it sacrifices crowd engagement, many have criticized it as ‘boring’. However, without the ‘useless fluff’ as she calls it, strikes, submission holds and grapples are a lot more potent and efficient, whilst wasting as little time as possible. Anyone that comes in expecting a showy appearance just because she’s in a wrestling ring is bound to be disappointed as she will never play up to their hype.

Personality: Although her claim to fame is the biting sarcasm and vicious criticism of most pro wrestling programmes, fans and haters can both admit that Ryota is unapologetically herself at all times. She holds no delusions or misconceptions, never relying on deluding the masses with baseless facts. A woman who is passionate about history, Ryota confidently states facts that can’t be debated. It’s what’s garnered the massive audience she currently has, and while she avoids blatant slander and bizarre hot takes, she knows that her takes will bring no shortage of enemies.

Outside of the ring and away from the camera, Ryota tends to keep to herself. She’s never without a book, always studying up and expanding her knowledge the way she knows how. Whilst it’s not impossible to bring her around to trying new things, it’s still an uphill battle if her interests don’t align. The way she dismisses any get-togethers that don’t tickle her fancy can be seen as blunt, but that is who she is. Always reclusive in nature. Ryota has a critical view of “heroes” and promotes that people should deal with their business themselves rather than relying on others all the time. With how much she has succeeded by her own merits, especially regarding her platform, it can be inspirational, if not the coldness she comes with the subject.

It’s no surprise that Ryota has a favourable bias to actual combat and the more “real” version of wrestling. Whereas she holds disdain to those in favour of the pomp, grandiose, bombastic and overblown glamour of the other variety. It’s the same reason Ryota doesn’t name her moves, showing respect to the actual names, rather than coming up with something “catchy” for the viewers. She doesn’t entertain such frauds that seek to please the crowd, and she can’t hold her tongue to not correct someone on a term that’s blatantly and factually incorrect.

Heroes and villains are nothing new, especially in the land of Japan. The native Japanese fans do favour the hero’s side while not in favour of the villains. It’s their taste for a long time. Even Ryota got into the hype as a kid once.

Her overimaginative mind always saw herself playing the hero in her room, inspired by the same quotes that inspired many children her age. Despite this, her history professor of a mother and an archaeologist of a father made sure her grades remain outstanding. Although she had a handful of friends during school, Ryota didn’t play much outside, always cooped up inside her room with her favourite book of the week. She was always motivated to be the best, help out a neighbour in need and to be true in all things. Such lessons wouldn’t be translated to bullies, who had their own interpretation of a hero. One that was corrupt.

Ryota wasn’t blessed when it came to sports, seeking to avoid it altogether. But when she saw someone distressed and picked on, her belief had her charging in to help her fellow neighbour. Turns out she didn’t have the body to perform such stunts, and she would be attacked in short order. She was helpless, her tormentors using bastardized hero tactics and both her and the beloved books would be thrown into a river. What was worse, despite her efforts, the one she tried to save mocked her and wished a real hero came to save him, rather than someone like her.
