Strategy: Though Miri is stronger than normal humans because of her tribe’s lineage, she is still weaker than most of the monsters she hunts, and is typically behind them in agility and speed. As such, she relies on a combination of her weaponry and traps, taking their weaknesses into account. In general, she’s trained to end a hunt before it even starts, to know her enemy so well that it’s only a matter of executing the plan once the fight starts. This can make her dangerous foe, but leave her off her guard if an opponent defies expectations.

Weapons

*Dual Blades*

Miri’s favorite weapon, and her go-to when she’s not sure about the capabilities of her opponent. She’s fast with them, and can enchant them with a variety of elements to increase their power. Some monsters are resistant to physical damage, some are resistant to elemental attacks, but precious few excel at dealing with them both, making it her most reliable choice. However, it does lack in the defense department, so she has to fight aggressively.

*Long Sword*

A sturdy up close weapon, capable of dealing some serious damage, good for the hardier, but slower monsters. It lacks defensive capabilities, however, so she has to pour on the pressure with it.

*Sword And Shield*

Miri’s most balanced weapon, giving her defense and offense in equal measure, but not excelling at either. Her preferred weapon when dealing with enemies that are faster than her, since it helps her deal with their attacks and take minimal damage.

*Bow*

Miri goes for the bow when she needs to take on an opponent that has to be taken care off at a distance, like flying monsters or ones that are generating too much heat. She can fire multiple types of arrows that can do a variety of damage,

Smoke Bombs: Miri usually packs some smoke bombs with her. They can serve as a means of escape, but she can also lace them with poison to hurt or paralyze certain monsters.
Potions: Carries healing potions that allow her to heal from minor wounds and poisons, and stimulant potions that can give her a temporary speed and strength boost. Cannot consume too many at a time, however, as they overtax her body.
Wire Traps: Can set wire traps, though they take about half a minute to properly place and aren’t good for the heat of battle.

Heavy Armor: Miri’s heavy armor gives her great protection at the cost of some of her agility and stamina. Made from enchanted dragon scales, it allows her take attacks that would cripple her otherwise, and is what she falls back on when fighting quicker opponents that she can’t keep up with, anyway. It also has some protection against spells and elemental attacks, as well as a mask to protect her against gases.

Personality:
Miri is a determined woman, as a huntress must be. Growing up, she was repeatedly told how she has to uphold her tribe’s legacy and preserve their ways, and this is something that she holds fast to, in her own way. While her tribe mostly believe that their place is to protect the valley, Miri believes they should venture out and start dealing with monsters across the world, rooting them out at their sources instead of just dealing with the ones that occasionally come into their territory, and that their techniques should be taught to others.

She can be stubborn, a trait that can serve her well or poorly depending on the situation. She won’t give up on something once she starts it, even when discretion would be the sage choice. A blunt, aggressive woman, she lacks tact and social graces, speaking her mind without concern for the consequences.

Humans have often lived alongside monsters, and it has rarely been a peaceful existence. While humanity has always enjoyed the strength of numbers and an innovative mind, this was not always enough to turn things in their favor. It was found that, whenever monsters came together against them, human beings fell to their superior powers and might. Some believed that it was only a matter of time before these superior creatures banded together and dominated them, turning them into chattel the same way they themselves had controlled the lower animals.

To combat that fear, the Tribe Under The Moon was born. In secret, a group of men and women came together in Moon Valley, a small area surrounded by cold, treacherous mountains, where few ventured. Here, in seclusion, they trained for years and developed techniques and weapons that could fight monsters on their own terms, learning how to equalize the playing field through training, diligence, and firepower. When they came back into the world proper, they used their expertise to protect villages and fend off the fiends, defending the other tribes and allowing mankind to expand across the world.

However, as time went on and humanity grew in number, their services would become less used, their protection no longer needed to such a great extent, and they would be increasingly shunned among the people they once protected, seen as little more than pest control. Feeling that their purpose had been lost, it was decided to retreat back into the valley and focus on protecting their own home, growing there and staying vigilant in case they were needed again.

It was in this time that Miri of the Snow was born. The daughter of the chieftain, she had wily, strong spirit, and showed great promise in her arts and skills. It was thought that she would one day take her father’s place, but Miri had little interest in the seat. Her curiosity led her to question the world beyond the mountains, wondering about the people there and what life was like on the other side.

Without good reason, however, she could never justify venturing away in the tribe, but as providence would have it, that reason came to her. It was learned that some kind of monster fighting league, Fur and Feathers, was gaining popularity and leading to something of a monster resurgence. New monsters were popping up to compete, becoming far more brazen in showing their numbers, and it was thought that this might lead to trouble if left unchecked.

While her father expressed worry, he didn’t want to intervene, believing they should hold back until a problem emerged. Miri, however, felt this was worth dealing with more directly. Confident in her abilities, she snuck out of the village and ventured into the larger world, looking to test herself in Fur and Feathers and ascertain the danger firsthand.
