Background: Charlotte Kaori Beckett was born in an American-funded diplomat hospital in Okinawa, Japan. She is the daughter of a military officer of the U.S Army and a Japanese diplomat officer. Her father retired from military service but her mother’s job as a diplomat for Japan deeply defined her personality. Having to move every couple of years she could never have real friends at school or her neighborhoods so she grew with a lot of disregard for people. This affected negatively to her in some ways, making her an unruly and rebel without a cause child. His father knew a lot about discipline and tried his best to make her back into the fold, but the only moments when he could make his daughter listen was when teaching her self-defense.

As time passed and she added Italy and Russia to the list of countries she had lived in, it was clear that no one was going to be able to control Charlotte’s temperament. She was becoming a burden for her parents to carry on their travels so they decided that her father was moving to the USA with her and her mother would carry on traveling with her work. It was fine with her, she never got along with her mother well, his father was more bearable company.

She moved with her father to Chicago where she got kicked out from two high schools for fighting. She then realized she was really good at beating people up so as soon as she finished her basic studies she joined an underground street fighting association by the hand of a boyfriend she had at that time. Her boyfriend would arrange matches for her paying handsomely for every win, and she won several times. Of course nothing of this was legal. When her father eventually discovered this he made a couple of calls to a couple of friends he made in the army and the fighting gig was suddenly closed because of a massive police intervention. However, this didn’t turn out well for Charlotte when her now ex-boyfriend realized the guy that brought the business down was his former father-in-law so Charlotte saw herself on the run.

She was too proud to come back to her father looking for protection and she was fed up with his interventions so she decided to move to the only place in the world not even her parents would look for her. Ironically that was Japan. She got an opportunity to begin a new life and was about to throw it away by joining a new street fighting gang when she learnt about the AFW. Turns out there was a place where people could fight, beat people up and even do some more… feisty things with other fighters. She had to get in there in some way so she joined a couple of gyms in hopes to get the attention of the AFW, and surprisingly she did.
